This video shows how to replace the glass touchscreen on the ipad 8th gen. The touchscreen also know as the digitizer, is glued directly onto the ipad frame. A heat source is needed to soften the adhesive for removal.

This ipad is very similar to the 7th gen ipad. You can use a heat gun, blow dryer, or heat mat as a heat source to soften the adhesive.
Just got mine in the mail today. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxhcEDB3r-OJ3_X5hQzr7k1ZofTQy1ao_U The corners of the box was a little smashed but I think that’s more of the shipping’s fault. iPad was in perfect condition though. I ordered the yellow one thinking it was going to be a bright vibrant color. Instead I looks like more of a Gold color. I personally prefer the gold look. Definitely not disappointed but just a heads up to the ones expecting a brighter cream of yellow.

Hi, had the same problem weeks ago, I let a shop on the mall to replace the touchscreen. It was replaced but my problem is that the performance of my Ipad, 7th Gen is not the same than it used to be. Like the battery from 100% even I am not using it, will go down up to empty. And then I cannot connect to the internet or hotspot, and it really confused me. Was it possible that the ipad was damage during the crack replacement or they had done something to the Ipad? I'm sorry what I am not that into technology but a user only but I am really wondering and I want answer. Maybe you can help. Thank you in advance!
If the iPad was working fine even with the cracked glass but after repair is experiencing issues, then either the new glass is defective or the repair was botched and they damaged the board or battery.

Thanks, well presented and easy to follow. Completed repair on gen 8 iPad with success. Only thing I found out after pressing screen in, was the camera bracket didn’t need to be saved from old screen. Thanks again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Don't u need to first disconnect the battery from main board before disconnect the lcd?
Probably the safest, but I haven’t had any issues.
Nice but how do you make sure there is no crap on your lcd before reinstalling the new glass digitizer?
Use a clean microfiber cloth.

I repair devices as well and would be willing to help you out in the process or do it for you. There should be tons of repair shops nearby you, though.

Unfortunately no, only the original button has the Touch ID paired to the original motherboard.

I managed to break my home button in the process haha. Glad it works and that everything went well. Did you find that you had any problem with finger prints on your lcd or were you extra careful to avoid them?
