    #1 is so true! I knew a guy who had 1500 books and was making $11,000 a month - but 50% of his income came from *2* books.

      Yes. But the catch is when he started he had no idea which two will make sales. So you DO have to publish 4000 books. Because you do not know which one is going to hit the sweet spot.

    @sean Thanks for another great video. I believe you should Add Chapters to your TH-cam Videos. As you may know Chapters break up your TH-cam video into sections, each with an individual preview. These chapters can help viewers by giving more info and context by allowing them to rewatch different parts of the video. Video Chapters are automatically generated based on timestamps you enter in the video description and will show in the video progress bar (aka the “video scrubber bar”) below your videos.

    Would it be logical to look at reviews of other books and analyze the comments in order to understand what they liked and disliked ? This way we can make a better book ?

      @@SeanDollwet The best descriptions are without grammatical error. Keep sentences within the 40% glue word target range. And use active verbs, not passive verbs. They will then stand above the rest.

    I am going to launch my book within a week and I have been reading a lot of articles about best book launching strategies. I really thought that I would have to make some more inestment if I want to succeed as an author but as I saw this video, I got relaxed. You are the one who is doing all of the stuff that we want to do, Those article writers are probably selling their services by giving stress to us. So, I trust you more than them. Thank You So much....

    I am looking into starting a KDP business, all other videos that I have watched have said to keep publishing tons and tons of low content books every day, otherwise you won't make any money. I was waiting to hear what you said :) I've ALWAYS had QUALITY over quantity approach with whatever I do. Will definitely follow this with my KDP business as well.

    Sorry, but saying that "we don't need to have a big amount of published books to have a good income, but just some few good quality books, with a brilliant cover design, and a good interior, is not true". But when you tell us that it's a matter of luck, that is totally true. So, according to the reports income of many famous KDP youtubeurs, who all confess that they have thousands of books, but they get their main income from less than 10 books, confirm what I was thinking when I began on KDP, and that you said in this video : luck is an important part of this business. And then, like in a lottery, we have to make and publish tons and tons of books, trying as far as possible to focus on the quality, to have a maximum chances to sell some of those books, with the great hope to have among those "tons", a jackpot-book or two, wich make a daily dozen sells.
    And bravo for your good quality-videos.

    @Sean, most people are not going to agree with you that you should make good quality books and not pump out 4000 books that took 10 minutes to make.
    One because most of the advice out there has been to produce tons of notebooks and books that take a few minutes to make.
    Two because they think having hundreds or thousands of books increases their chances, when as you said it just wastes time.
    You could spend 2 to 7 days making an original quality book, maybe something unique that could sell for years to come and get amazing reviews. Or a 10 minute production that makes a few sales every month or less.
    I look at the people who make 4 and 5 figures a month from *one book*. Their books are either one of the first books in that niche, e.g. Pretty simple press with their gratitude journal. The interior and cover are unique, not a template from Book Bolt or Creative Fabrica. They make the majority of their money from that one journal.
    I got that advice from someone who used to make a lot of money doing low content and makes 3 times as much writing romance now.

    Great video, thanks! I have a question. While I totally understand the premise that you need quality over quantity, do you necessarily know ahead of time which books will be your 10 or 20 that do sell? Do you not need some amount of quantity just to find those bestsellers?
    Thanks!

    Question about un publishing a book, you said you did that on some books, I added all my books to my "authors page" and if I wanted to un publish a book can I remove it from my authors page also? Whats your method to un publishing I have seen people say you need to upload a blank cover and remove all the keywords.

    Totally agree with you, if one bought all the stuff many gurus would have you believe you need, before you had even made a dime, you probable go broke instead.
    Your paid course is going to have to be outstanding to be better than your free, but then your free course is why I signed up to look at your paid course, and why I have and will buy some of the stuff you recommend through your link.

  • @theoriginalmonstermaker
    @theoriginalmonstermaker 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sry if I jumped the gun and you comment on the concept later in vid, but do you think those "TOP 10" are consistently holding those positions?
    I.e. I'm VERY new to this practice of self publishing but from the info I've heard, the popularity (sales) can vary over time (not only either decreasing/ increasing over long term but also changing w the 'quarter' depending if the niche is season dependant) ... so are those really your heavy hitters, or do others pick up the pace at other times?

    • @theoriginalmonstermaker
      @theoriginalmonstermaker 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting, and I appreciate the hasty response! One more question if you have the time: would you say you're 10 best are also more recent? As in, have you continually got more skilled at both the production and prediction (of what will be successful), and therefore see a trend of increasing sales w experience, or are they ones that just 'took off' based on social factors? (That's probably a stupid question bc it's likely a combination of both)

  • @theoriginalmonstermaker
    @theoriginalmonstermaker 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    ... oh, also.... do you think it would even be possible/ reasonable to JUST publish the successful ones?
    I.e. since you said 'luck' plays a role, and the sales achieved is probably a very complicated function based on any number of difficult to predict factors, will effort and quality ever really GUARANTEE profits? Again, I'm to new to this to have personal experience, but I gotta imagine that even when playing the SEO game and doing the work to ensure quality, there's gonna be times where you just miscalculate the market
