What Is Qlipoth Protecting Us From? | Honkai Star Rail Lore

  • Qlipoth is one of the oldest aeons in all of star rail and from the very beginning it has been fixated with building walls. Its mentioned that the reason it does this is to protect all sentient creatures from some imminent danger. But what exactly is Qlipoth protecting us from? Is there some dangerous beast or monster that lurks in the shadows of the cosmos or is there a larger threat looming over the horizon
Considering that qlipoth is basically a god within the honkai star rail universe, there must be something of such unimaginable power that qlipoth feel its has to build these walls to protect the universe. Thats what we'll be discussing in this video and see whether we can figure out what lurks in the shadows that can make even an aeon fearful and see what exactly is it that qlipoth is trying to protect use from
Some part of this video comes from the actual lore while others may be speculation on my part as we currently do not know the full story. As such take it with a grain of salt as the point of this video is just a deeper dive into Honkai Star Rail lore.
If you enjoyed the video or it has helped you in someway please feel free to like and subscribe and suggest in the comments whether there are any other videos you would like to see.

Ouroboros is last known Leviathan left alive and Qlipoth took part in the dusk wars, defeating the Leviathans. The cosmic snek might be trying to get revenge by consuming everything since it represents Gluttony. Qlipoth is probably wary that Ouroboros might start devouring planets. Terminus might also pose a threat.

Honkai is a part of the Honkai Impact universe, which follows the "rule" of Finality - Having found an Aeon called the Aeon of Finality, I'm starting to believe the Honkai is caused by the Aeon of Finality. As for what Finality is, basically every 50,000 years the world just gets reset. But the lore behind that is still just so confusing. Honkai is confirmed to HATE humanity, so Honkai's motivation is NOT to see whether humanity is strong enough to exist, it just wants to kill them. Hopefully we learn more about this in the future though since Honkai Impact's story is still being developed constantly

@@GolgothianSylex I'll have to play the new chapters to understand better then, but unless it got retconned (as usual), Honkai indeed hates humanity. Why else would the Will of Honkai tell Herrschers that they should kill/destroy, and why else would Herrschers originate in people who grew hatred in their heart? (see: HoDom, HoV, HoStars/Earth, etc) - there were other cases where honkai obviously hated humanity but I've forgotten.

The last chapters are very important in understanding the Honkai. A better summary would be that Honkai was a force of Cocoon and a test for humanity. Trapping them in the Samsara was done by Cocoon so humanity could be reset and tested again.
More importantly, Honkai and Cocoon are higher dimensional existences and can't be described as hating us or even wanting to "embrace" us

Honkai, Sky People, and other Aeons are all reasonable guesses
The Sky People *have* to come up at some point as they're the whole reason Welt and Void Archives are here, but I could see Qlipoth's constructions being an excuse to keep Star Rail distinct from HI3rd so that the average player isn't expected to learn the lore of a much older, much different game: the Honkai and/or Sky People *would* be a threat but Qlipoth is keeping them out, letting the story focus on things centric/native to the Star Rail universe

I think that Xipe is a plausible threat. Xipe already absorbed one aeon, and it wouldn't be too surprising if Xipe wants to absorb more and eventually rule the entire universe. After all, "intelligent lifeforms must discard their cowardly selfishness and the differences between individuals, fusing into one singular melody - to have the strong help the weak, and to protect life with death." And what the heck is "protect life with death" anyway.
For examples of Xipe being sus, see "Memory Bubble: Family". Also, the real world Xipe was a god who wore human skin, and has a festival where prisoners were sacrificed for their skin. Which is especially sus, given that Penacony has prisoners.

That very last thing you suggested at the end, Qlipoth just building walls as it's the closest approximation of preservation, sounds like an awesome idea imo.
I really liked how star rail has handled the aeons. Being of god-like proportions, but not actual gods in the sense that they're only stuck on their path.
You wouldn't think a 'god of life' would be a villain, but yaoshi is technically a villain in the luofu arc, having cursed the residents with eternal life without regard of any consequences (being mara struck and the mental decline with never dying)
So i kinda like the idea that Qlipoth is just erecting random barriers and walls due to it's path and not actually trying to protect the universe from anything. But it's followers misunderstood it, thinking from a perspective similar to the yaoshi case and assumed it's building the walls to protect from some bad thing. That would also make sense why Qlipoth never used the materials the IPC gave it cause it's in no hurry to build, cause there's nothing it's defending the universe from. Just building walls for the heck of it so to speak.
But then again, there's merit to the plot in having him build the walls to actually protect the universe aswell.

What I like about the aeons are despite beings gods theyre pretty one minded and are functionally like drones following whatever the paths represent. My only theory for what might Qliphot well maybe be preparing is perhaps related to the Prophecy of Terminus the Aeon of Finality his murmuring throughout the universe until this Aeon suddenly gone missing.
But if all of Hoyoverse game are truly connected to one another in some form or another then I can only think of ONE group of particular beings that might give this Aeons absolute fear.
And no its not the Honkai as Honkai is more of the unknown energy that exists upon the Imaginary tree itself & NO its not the Cocoon Of Finality as Finality already achieved its ultimate goal through Kiana in Honkai Impact 3.
What I'm referring it the Outer Gods in GGZ or the Great Old Ones.... This is the only being In hoyoverse I can think of more than capable of scarring literal gods... Unless Mihoyo create something even more sinister than this guys.

Slight clarification on Honkai and Finality.
      1. Honkai is just Imaginary Energy imposed by Finality's will. Will of Honkai is just Finality's will. Although Prometheus manipulate the Cocoon of Finality to repeat the Herrscher cycle in the CE.
      2. Finality is a civilization or collection of narratives (as Prometheus would say) that has become one. They exist on a higher dimension which can't be perceived or understood directly.
      3. Cocoon of Finality is just Finality projecting itself into lower dimensions. Its basically an avatar. Based on what we learn from its Cocoon. Finality doesn't have ill will or love but does want to interact with its kind but since its alone it tries to create more civilizations that can become like it.
      4. Finality should exist outside of the Imaginary Tree itself. Despite this there should be infinite Cocoon's, infinite HoFi's, and infinite scenarios of Honkai destroying civilizations.
Considering that Finality wants keep trying things until something works its unclear if it would just stop with one successful attempt but if that's one then there's like an infinite number on the Tree.
So the biggest threat to everyone in verse universe, bubble universe, realm, or dimension upon the Tree (and potentially the Sea) is Finality unifying with the Tree.
Also I guess the Sea of Quanta (aka the Abyss) absorbing the Tree would be bad.

    • @communitygamer117
      @communitygamer117 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Actually on the idea of the symbiotic relationship of Tree and Sea being broken being the ultimate threat for the verse rather so eldritch entity...
Think about it, like Otto theorized, the Honkai is a regulatory body that maintains the relationship between the Sea and Tree. While this isn't actually Honkai's intention. It does actually do this by destroying or pruning universes which fall into the Sea.
But if Finality no longer needs to look for its kind then wouldn't Honkai no longer plague the multiverse? If that happened then wouldn't Tree become stagnant (relatively speaking since their both infinite in size and scope)?
I think that'd be very interesting

    As for the external force:
    1. Honkai already been prooven and from its pattern across 2 hoyoverse game being honkai impact and GGZ, honkai always use something called finality or the end as finsl trigger of its process. In honkai impact all of herscher are manifestation of cocon of finality power. In short hersher are proxy of honkai. Meanwhile in GGZ the workd are destroyed by hersher of finality. Now let us back to hsr. There is one misterious aeon that we have so little information of. Yep aeon of finality. This aeom might not the standard aeon but another proxy of honkai instead.
2nd there is a threat called sky peaple in honkai impact verse. They are multiverse jumping civilization that claimed to be successfull fighting againts honkai and thus has been invading another world to mine on honkai energy. This sky people threat is why welt and void archive jump into hsr world.

Honkai originates from Terminus (Finality), which witnessed the death of the universe countless times. It tries to train civilizations to resist something that will lead to the end, sending cataclysms upon them and reverse time when they fails in order to start from begining. In a sense, Terminus and Qliphoth go to the same goal in different ways.

So, with new information, allow me to add to the Honkai part.
One: The term "universe" is rather funny for the cosmology for Hoyo. It refers to both "the space in which the Imaginary Tree and the sea of Qunata resides" and can refer to the real-number universe "leaves" that are on the branches of the Tree.
Two: Honkai can be the culling force that you've mentioned, but another theory from another scientist in HI3rd came up with was that Honkai wasn't apart of the "universe" - the first definition I gave - and comes from beyond even the 11-D structure that the Imaginary Tree resides in. That could be what Qlipoth is trying to achieve, if the first definition is what Hoyo means to refer to, but I do have another idea.
Three: HI3rd shows that the Sea of Quanta, the "rival" to the Imaginary Tree, has it's own monsters roaming within it, not to mention the machines known as the Sky People that collect energy for themselves. These could also be something that Qlipoth is trying to keep away.
