Thank you, Mr. Ballen, for the retelling of my dad's story. His 6 hours in hell mission is unbelievable and one he didn't like to relive, but he told it in hopes of inspiring those who heard it. He never took credit for being a hero, although in all of our eyes he is one. He always said the real heroes are the ones who never came home. By the way, our family just celebrated the 40th Anniversary of my father receiving the Medal of Honor.
Again, well done Mr. Ballen. -Yvette Benavidez Garcia, Roy's proud daughter. #TangoMikeMike

I’ve heard your dad’s story many times. I can only imagine the internal strength of mind required to overcome the overwhelming physical trauma he endured and to keep fighting to save others. His story should never be forgotten. I’ve shared your father’s story with my children and hopefully they will share it with their own kids someday. I like to tell my kids that life will knock you down a million different ways, it’s your job to find a million and one ways to get back up. Inspired by your Dad. Thank you

-Diabetes is a really horrific thing, because Roy died by its complications.

Ray Snyder I am a Vietnam Vet also . I was discussing this story with my brothers and I came to realize what Roy did was not what the US gov wants to reward . The medal of honor is normally for taking out as many of the "enemy" as possible . Roy Benavidez went totally into the battle to "save" the lives of his Green Beret brothers , so much so he forgot his weapon ! The whole Vietnam War was based on a false flag before we the public knew what a "false flag" was . Roy was a legend who demonstrated compassion and heroic action . He was not typical medal of honor material in many ways and yet I've not read or heard of anyone to equal him !

I literally listen do your podcast almost 24 seven. The only time I don’t listen is when I’m sleeping! Lol of all of your stories I think this one about Roy really hit home for me. I can’t believe this man took so much destruction to his body and still kept going to selflessly save others. What an amazing, human being, extraordinary actually

Must have been a hell of a sight for the Vietnamese soldiers seeing a man and his Bowie knife running through the jungle with a wheelbarrow for his nuts.

Got a wonder are Roy's, or Desmond Doss's balls bigger? Imagine if they were a tag-team. Any platoon would say "I don't feel so good! I think I'm going to take today off cap'!"

Imagine playing some video game and you bayonet your downed opponent multiple times, just for him to activate plot armor, overpower you somehow, and kill you.
