Do you own one..?......any owners opinion on the Discovery sport as a twice a year beach driving car (fraser island, double island point) with mum dad and two young kids onboard? [currently have and use an amarok for this but would now like a car with 5+2 option] Thanks.
Definitely GLB - I have owned both cars. Just recently traded in my Discovery Sport and bought the GLB. It is such a fun car to drive. The engine is so peppy to drive. Great design and interior. You just want to keep driving. The GLb is miles apart from the Disco Sport. Disco Sport maybe better looking but that's about it.
As neither are off road vehicles the Disco's better off road is a mute point. Both will take your tinny down to the ramp and up a gravel track. I wouldn't even contemplate taking one of these off road proper. Frankly get a Toyota if you're going to do that
Mercedes 100% better as the Interior of the GLB is worlds apart from the Land Rover. The Mercedes gear select leaver is the best thing ever, all cars should have this as it saves space in the cabin whilst also being a safety feature ++ it is so intuitive if you have a brain. Also the USB - C connection points throughout the car future proof it which shouldn't be a negative point.
The disco 4 was way better looking.. they both look like walnuts on wheels. Whats the point except for the badge on the grill for 75g get a korean suv with 7year warranty with the same features..
GLB interior is very modern and the info tech system provides a better user experience. I would recommend the GLB with sport kit and adaptive damping suspension. BAD review for BAD car usage .. If you need 3rd row to be in the town, get a van.. Otherwise use it as 5 seat car. suv car..? we dont know. Suv city cars??? 70k ?? Sure there are stupid consumers, but as a channel with big impact you can inform the consumers.
The Discovery Sport catches my eyes more than the GLB🤔
The Land Rover wins for me simply due to the fact that it'll handle the off road stuff much better. Much more versatile use case than the Merc.
But it will be in the garage a lot more often so you gotta weigh that up too

The Discovery sport has more power, more fuel efficiency, more offroad capability, and Discovery has a spare tyre , Discovery will cost less
Surprised you mentioned the Mercedes shift stalk as a negative point. I wish all cars did this, I prefer it so much more in my Tesla.
