1996 Mercedes C220 (W202) - Transmission Bowden Cable Adjustment

Adjust the barrel adjuster counterclockwise to hold onto gears longer and increase acceleration power - Throttle should also be adjusted to correct position - consult a professional if needed!

I have a 94’c200. The cable look the dame but i need to know if i’m right: screw the cable to shift Earlier, unscrew to shift latte. Is it correct? I have also another question: sometimes the car don’t shift down when i press the accelerator, it happen when i’m driving at 60,70 kmh and after a brake (to make a round for example) it would be good if the car shift down 1 gear. Any idea?

@@ell7851 you understand it correctly. This old auto gearbox is not very smart. Sometimes you have to activate the kickdown button to make the car downshift. I believed it is normal.

If you look at where that cable goes there are index marks that you are supposed to line up while the engine is at idle...

What are this three vacuum lines that you are unplug?

Top white vacuum line runs to the vacuum distribution block, Green line runs to the MAF sensor, the bottom connection runs the vacuum to the fuel pressure regulator and the EGR control valve

Thanks benzman for your quick answer. Can you tell me where is located that vacuum distribution block? I miss this white vacuum hose ... someone excluded and blinded that upper vacuum hole.
