    He the scapegoat for a series they had no chance of winning. Let’s talk about what he did do
    2016 nba finals JR rattles of 9 straight points to give Cleveland the lead in the 3rd Quarter. JR hustled back on defense to alter Iggy shot giving Lebron the opportunity to get his famous block
    Put some respect on his name that one play won’t define his career

    JR will absolutely be remembered for that finals play. it wont define his career and it wont be the first thing people talk about but it will come up. the cavs were expected to get swept and CLEARLY were gonna steal game 1, no i dont think that changes things in the end but one of the worst finals teams of all time just stole a game from the best finals team ever in their own building?!?! come on now that wouldve meant a hell of a lot to the basketball world. lets also not forget that game 2 was a very close game until the end, and game 3 they had a chance to win and ended up only losing by 9. Jr (and george hill) ruined that finals. they had a chance to easily make that a 6 game series and that play depleted them mentally and emotionally and it’s overwhelmingly apparent.

    • @camerondavisjr6448

      Dennis Walker i agree..if cavs steal that game1 it changes everything

    • @Lootroq
      @Lootroq 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yeah, that would have been a greater moral victory than the Warriors winning the title(those are more or less empty now anyway). Winning that game also would have cemented Lebron's legacy after that historic playoff run. Usually it's Lebron being the cause of his problems in those moments, but this time it was someone else. That's why it was so tragic

    JR's the fall guy, especially with his Finals meltdown to cover up LeBron and Dan Gilbert's relationship never improving, trading Kyrie away when everybody felt 'iffy' about it, not declining the trade when it first fell through, the firing of Tyronn Lue when everybody knew that was going to happen if the Cavs started off bad, letting David Griffin walk when he was loved by everyone, and Gilbert letting it be known that he's ready to take his team back. It's a damn shame.

    He absolutely will be remembered for that play. It was a boneheaded play, on national TV, at an extremely crucial time. Were the Cavs gonna win the series? Probably not, but sometimes the game is about momentum, and if they steal game 1 in Oakland, who knows what might've happened. But JR's play destroyed all hope.

      Yeah, but the Warriors would have had a ton of time to hit the game winning shot and all they needed was a deuce. Plenty of time to set up an easy mid-range jumper for Durant or a shot for Klay and we all know Curry can shoot from anywhere on the court. Or they could go strong to the basket and then get a putback even if they missed. Hill missing that FT actually worked out better for the Cavs, but Smith screwed it all up by not being aware of the situation.

    I know this is a different topic but just like JR is hurt by that game 1 blunder. I feel like Tyron Lue will feel the effects as well, because for you Lebron to question if they had a time out or not, that means the coach Lue didn’t prepare the team coming out of the time out before the free throw and he surely didn’t try to call the timeout either from the bench. Lue is just as responsible for that L as is JR.
