it was different in the old days up til 1980. Tourists were simple folk, families, etc, just looking for a warm beach, peach orchard camping or a clean motel, and great memories. None of this “wine and dine” party stuff. They’ve turned the rundown motels into supported housing, the waterslides into strip malls, and the “festivals” into money grabbing events. sad.
21:20. There's a road going into an orchard there. In 1951 my father bought a new Oldsmobile Rocket 88, the fastest American car at the time. The first real muscle car. Coming south through Winfield one night, he was speeding and a cop in an old 49 Ford started chasing him. I watched out the back window as the cop turned on the red light. My father floored the Olds and the red light fell back very quickly. That old shoe box Ford was not match. I'm sude dad would have kept going, but Mother was having nothing to do with a police chase.Under marital pressure, he turned off the lights, hit the brakes and turned into that driveway. The cop wasn't fooled and in a few minutes pulled up behind us. Ticket and pay up time.
That's a good way to go from the old h'way onto the new h'way. We have 2 round abouts in some places. One seems to go 1 way, and the other another way in the end, you have gone from the old h'way to the new. It's weird
Always nice to know that you're heavy on the drivers and light on the tail when heading up the hill. Although we both know it doesn't pay all that much. LOL Looking foreword to part II. Heave a good one!
You should have a bumper sticker on your rear trailer "These turn signals are not a suggestion" might help, never know. Ok see ya next video..........................................see ya
One of our major supermarkets went on strike, didn't that cause problems. Also, the trains were on strike and nurses as well. Nurses are back at work and train travel, too, but not supermarkets.
I remember the Okanagan Valley, but not like now 😢,we had paradise to ourselves! Safe travels
I can't even imagine the Okanagan without tourists.

Not much room on a flat deck for stickers

It seems to be the year of strikes
What happened to the Zodiac ???
Do you mean the Ogopogo?
@@JuanRempel Nope. The Zodiac Pub on Rutland Road and HWY 33. Looks like a shopping center now. It was quite a storied establishment. LOL
Google says the owners retired and sold it.
