Hey there! My name is Abby and I recently bought a MAJOR fixer upper house. I am SO excited to work on fixing it up this old house and turning it into my dream home. I can't wait to take you on this journey with me! I am planning to DIY as much as I can and learn so much about home renovations along the way. I am starting out totally clueless so I am sure it will be a grand adventure! Abby, when I saw that the video was running for 55 minutes I didn't think I'd make it all the way through, but I was amazed watching a beginner who had her technique down and was making a lot of progress. Great job.
Its a real blessing the way it worked out. Doing drywall in the summer during a heat wave is brutal. I found the minute the drywall went up, your vision became a whole lot clearer. Amazing!!!!!

You need a stirrer that goes on a drill and stir your mud up hood. It will go on a lot better
Use bag mud for the big gaps. Its comes in 5-20-45 min set time.
Build up the gap and let it set then tape. Time set depends on how may spots you do at one tme.
Your extra Sheetrock is good for your garden

Abby I hope after you finish the wider second coat of mud that you'll do a skim coat of thinner joint compound/spackling on every inch of drywall! That really takes the look to the next level acheiving the best result possible!!!

Abby, Have you thought about putting an accent wood ceiling in the cupola. Imo..I think that would be beautiful. You could reuse wood from the house.
Thought of the same thing, a wood cupola ceiling and have it stained and sealed in a beautiful shade of oak!

Take it from me… make sure you go wider and wider out each time you mud the tape or you’ll have issues later.

Abby, this video is a great motivator for me. 😂 Instead of just watching you work, I am doing some chores while listening. My daughter learned to mud and tape dry wall years ago when she and her husband remodeled their first home. She said it is a very tiring job. You are doing a very good job of it. It makes me tired just to watch you. 😅😅😅
