I am so sorry you were sick over vacation. It is sad when plans don't go well, like that. I spent many a Christmas that way, since I taught small children. Flying is also a prelude to being sick. Your lilacs are beautiful. They were my grandmother's favorite flower, so it always brings me happy memories. Van Gogh is one of my favorite artists. Your mini is beautiful. I did his Sunflowers in mini on 25 count, 1 over 1. It was fun and a challenge to do it so small. Those robins are adorable, all puffed up in the winter cold.

Enjoy your channel. Just a comment on the Black Swan Sweetheart Rose angel. I started that angel about 20 years ago and got bored with it. Decided a year and half ago to finish which I did. I have also 4 other Black Swan angels. All are angels with a flower or a bouquet of flowers. Hope some one gets the chart and enjoys it. Thank you for lovely stitching.

I am a big fan of Van Gogh and am excited to see "Cafe Terrace at Night" in stitching. It's one of my favorites as well. I've been to Amsterdam four times to see his museum and the Anne Frank house, and to eat vlaamse frites and Rijsttafel :) and enjoy the canal houses. I wish I lived in the Netherlands. You have lovely projects, thanks for showing them. About the Bothy kits: I have done 3 or 4 of them and loved them, always have a lot of floss left over. I just finished one and will start another 2 this year, one a full coverage. Happy stitching! Borduur ze! ;)

I'm so sorry you got sick on your vacation. I know from experience how disappointing that is. On one of my trips to Florida, I ended up with pneumonia. It's awful being sick in a strange location. Glad to hear you are fully recovered! I am so drawn to those little winter robins. I now put them on my wish list. And I agree with everyone else, your lilacs are gorgeous. I saw someone stitching one of those Carolyn Manning patterns that are similar to the Twinchie but it was Halloween. I'm not a fan of Halloween but I thought the idea of stitching tiny blocks would be so fun. So, I'm rather delighted to know there are others that are somewhat similar. So yes, Twinchie!

I also like the minis and the name of the castle in Portugal is Pena and it’s in Sintra. I recently purchased the Colors of Water from Historiche Stickmuster. I’ve admired the pattern for sometime. Planning on going back and watching all your other videos now! And now I see that you stitched Colors of Water! It’s like you said, elegant. I’m 90% convinced I should get the silks.

It is such a joy to work with and the result is gorgeous. I did have a dmc conversion, but the colours end up very different. I did not like the dmc suggested colours at all. So went with the silks and have not regretted it one bit! Treat yourself :). Happy stitching

I had to get a better look at Twinchie, I like most of Carolyn Manning's designs and it would be one I would stitch. I prefer charts only since I change colors on most charts. Your lilac finish though is wonderful, (I would not change a thing) and will hope to see it framed!

Happy New Year Hanneke. I was thinking of the weather/strike conditions you may encounter on your holiday to the IOW and I'm sorry you were ill. Thank goodness you were able to stitch! The Lilacs and Robins are beautiful and I do like your other projects and Twinchie looks interesting. Colours look so different in reality.
Thank you! Oh, the weather and the strike conditions had me stressed out a few times! I was worried I would be stuck and would not be able to travel back. But all of that turned out OK and the eurostar service was excellent. So yay. On the Isle of Wight there was a large area no-one could enter due to a large landslide because of the wetness. So all in all, it was an adventure ;). Happy stitching!
Actually, we are all different and that is great. I for one discovered that I felt a slight sensation of discomfort while I was watching wip parades of 90 or over projects. I prefer stitchers who do not make me feel so "tiny", stitchers with a reasonable amount of projects. The Leonard Afrimov piece is amazing. Is it just my sensation or does the stitched project seem to look clearer than the painting? I really enjoy watching the progress on Afrimov's creation.

So excited to find your channel. Please take this feedback in a manner of a helpful tip. I was taught cross stitching from an actual certified stitcher. Yes , it is a thing. One thing that was grilled in my brain and techniques, is to NEVER tape your edges. Even if it is acid free tape, it will eventually destroy your fabric and your threads they will bleed into those fibers and ruin them. It hurts my heart to see ALL your projects taped. There are specific or special fabric glues that are a great alternative.
I used the recommended two strands of floss, except for the shadowy bit, where I used one strand (the brown bits under the vase). For one of the symbols three strands were needed and I stuck to the two strands instead. Happy stitching!

I just subscribed to your flosstube as this is my first but certainly not my last to watch your flosstube. Love all your stitching projects, loved the lilac one as I do have a lilac hedge on my property and I look so forward to seeing them in the spring. I am on the east coast of Canada and it is winter now. I have not seen most of your patterns before so it is always nice to see different patterns. I do like the Carolyn manning designs but have not stitched any yet. Twinchie.😊

You have lovely projects, thanks for showing them. About the Bothy kits: I have done 3 or 4 of them and loved them, always have a lot of floss left over. I just finished one and will start another 2 this year, one a full coverage. Happy stitching! Borduur ze! ;)

I'm so sorry you got sick on your vacation. I know from experience how disappointing that is. On one of my trips to Florida, I ended up with pneumonia. It's awful being sick in a strange location. Glad to hear you are fully recovered! I am so drawn to those little winter robins. I now put them on my wish list. And I agree with everyone else, your lilacs are gorgeous. I saw someone stitching one of those Carolyn Manning patterns that are similar to the Twinchie but it was Halloween. I'm not a fan of Halloween but I thought the idea of stitching tiny blocks would be so fun. So, I'm rather delighted to know there are others that are somewhat similar. So yes, Twinchie!

It is such a joy to work with and the result is gorgeous. I did have a dmc conversion, but the colours end up very different. I did not like the dmc suggested colours at all. I had to get a better look at Twinchie, I like most of Carolyn Manning's designs and it would be one I would stitch. I prefer charts only since I change colors on most charts. Your lilac finish though is wonderful, (I would not change a thing) and will hope to see it framed!

Happy New Year Hanneke. I was thinking of the weather/strike conditions you may encounter on your holiday to the IOW and I'm sorry you were ill. Thank goodness you were able to stitch! The Lilacs and Robins are beautiful and I do like your other projects and Twinchie looks interesting. Colours look so different in reality.
Thank you! Oh, the weather and the strike conditions had me stressed out a few times! I was worried I would be stuck and would not be able to travel back. But all of that turned out OK and the eurostar service was excellent. So yay. On the Isle of Wight there was a large area no-one could enter due to a large landslide because of the wetness. So all in all, it was an adventure ;). Happy stitching!
Actually, we are all different and that is great. I for one discovered that I felt a slight sensation of discomfort while I was watching wip parades of 90 or over projects. I prefer stitchers who do not make me feel so "tiny", stitchers with a reasonable amount of projects.
The Leonard Afrimov piece is amazing. Is it just my sensation or does the stitched project seem to look clearer than the painting? I really enjoy watching the progress on Afrimov's creation.

So excited to find your channel. Please take this feedback in a manner of a helpful tip. I was taught cross stitching from an actual certified stitcher. Yes , it is a thing. One thing that was grilled in my brain and techniques, is to NEVER tape your edges. Even if it is acid free tape, it will eventually destroy your fabric and your threads they will bleed into those fibers and ruin them. It hurts my heart to see ALL your projects taped. There are specific or special fabric glues that are a great alternative.

How many strands did you use to stitch lilac
I used the recommended two strands of floss, except for the shadowy bit, where I used one strand (the brown bits under the vase). For one of the symbols three strands were needed and I stuck to the two strands instead. Happy stitching!
