    Might be a silly question but with the Moerman Excelerator when would you lock it off and when would you have it free moving? Is it pole for free moving and locked off for hand work?

    • @TradMan
      @TradMan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You got it in one, swivel on a pole, locked in hand 😉

    Nice, by far one of the most explained tutorial I've come across👍
    just one question: if you transition with the leading edge do you push it a little "in reverse", so that the squeegee dries off. When I transition from left to right of RtoL, I always get turn marks.
    Hope this makes sense😅

    • @TradMan
      @TradMan  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I just make fluid motions when fanning so, no sharp turns. If you try to turn on the spot with no forward movement it often leaves a mark. Just make sure your squeegee is travelling as you turn if that make sense
      Thank you for tuning in!

    As I understand it, The Gardiner SLX is a waterfed pole so the ends are suited to brushes, To turn it into a trad pole what do I need to get. I tried to get this info from your video but can't just see it. Good video as usual.

    • @TradMan
      @TradMan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the pole is modified a wee bit.
      I took a standard wfp straight neck (with the thread on the end) and screwed the moerman angle adaptor to it. If I remember rightly I had to file the wfp end piece down a bit to get the moerman adaptor to slide on the top

    Excellent video mate Quick question, will the Moarman angle adapter fit into the end of my Phantom 18?

      No I'm afraid not. You have to do a bit of DIY

    Hi, I love your videos and am learning a lot from them. I have a question about window ledges. How do you close out from a high window with a wide ledge? I have a moerman excellorator and a pole and I've been working with the angles but when it comes to closing out I can't see what I'm doing. Is it perhaps I need a longer pole so I can go further back so I can see the bottom of the frame? Thanks

    Thank you for your very informative videos. I am just starting out window cleaning in Cyprus, do you have any tips regards to working in direct sunlight and heat. I have ordered the latest Moerman handle plus the f*lic 14" plus 12 " accelerator, that I will use the Etoree master rubber which I believe is more suited to a warmer climate as it is hard? TYIA cheers.

    • @TradMan
      @TradMan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey buddy! All the best with the new business!
      When it's really hot you just have to really saturate your applicator. Keep the bucket next to the windows your working on, so you can dunk, apply soap and start scrubbing. Then squeegee it off as quickly as you can. If it's in direct sunlight, just soap and squeegee one window at a time to avoid streaks. 👍🏻😊

    Great video trad man. I have a query about your van, I’m looking at a couple of new vans, and one of them is a 2009 transit connect. What’s your opinion on the connects?

    • @TradMan
      @TradMan  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's the van i have, the connect is bomb proof but look for one that's been looked after. Mine had very little damage and was fully serviced since day one. Some vans can be abused so just be wary buddy ;)

    • @clearviewc3732
      @clearviewc3732 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Trad - Man one I’ve seen only has 86k miles on it and a full service history. I’ve checked the mot history and it’s failed a few mot’s in the past. But was then passed a day or two later with the failures rectified. It’s just had the timing belt done and serviced. So I’m leaning more towards the connect. The other vans I’m looking at are renaults and a Citroen.

    Thank you for the in-depth techniques. I wish I could use this for all my residential customers but here is sunny California I come across ALLOT of oxidized frames (milky runoff if wet) , so nose to glass is required.

      Daniel Mann nice! Where at North, east , South Bay? I’m technically in the north bay.

      @@heatherthewindowwoman4835 - I just saw your reply. Yes I am in the south bay. My business name is Pane-less window washing. Today I did exterior windows that were all french panes, I wish i could of used my water fed pole, but because of the dang white frame bleeding i couldn't. It took me all day instead of 2 hours.

    • @heatherthewindowwoman4835
      @heatherthewindowwoman4835 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daniel Mann geez! What a hassles!
      French panes have become very popular with remodals and new builds here in the bay are, guess they like the “Euro” look.
      Another local window cleaner in Napa says he “blasts “ through oxidized frames using a WFP by just scrubbing till the water “runs clear”. That’s fine all but I’d imagine he exhausts his resin bags 2x as fast. Not sure if that’s something you’ve considered or looked into.

    Love the Vid, I only use trad on low level businesses these days.. Don't get me wrong there is something really relaxing about using trad equipment, i always have it on hand to do inside windows. But I went pure water pole fed last year... I have to say I didn't have much faith in pole fed at first, but the more I learned about using it... The more I know it was the right way to go for me at least... It's good to see someone keeping the old ways alive... both have their benefits... I like how you adapted the SLX... What I am really looking for is an angular adapter made of metal and not plastic, so far can't find one I go through them like crazy at least four a yea so far... haha

      Yeah the blue clips on the ends put pressure on the tips of the rubber, which push the rubber tight into the frame when using the squeegee, it's an old technique that was called dog ear'n. Doing this means it's takes all the solution off the glass so you don't need to wipe the glass after you've used the squeegee.
