Nobody is talking about it but got to praise the editor on MotorInc. Graphics look very readable and cool. Correct highlights in the correct places. Overall a job well done.
Never thought I would get addicted to watch two professionals just speaking facts and about their real experience with cars and bike. I have been a fan of Kartikeya since the 2014 Honda City Review at Autocar India. I would love to see both of you discuss about Motorsport especially Formula 1 as I feel there are no authentic shows and podcasts about the same in India. Hope this happens and that if it does, that it might be the start of something big!
Driving for 15 +days now.. loving it no issues so far.. only first time when I recharged the vehicle, indicator sound and hazard lights sound just disappeared.. I had documents to pick at showroom just then.. the person spoke to some 'specialist' on phone and did 'force reset' not 'factory reset'.. it's all going fine since then which is about 12 days now. I have the empowerment+ LR without sunroof (I had actually booked NR but instead took LR.. happy that I did).. without sunroof it feels and is roomy and comfortable otherwise I felt when is my head going to hit the roof when I test drove the vehicle with sunroof.. also just love the singleish peddle drive (city mode with regen level 2).. seats r comfortable but could have been better with more neck & upper back support..
@@karanjadhav4597 no.. i have not faced gear nob stuck issue.. only issue i faced twice was indicator sound disappeared twice.. one time i did force reset and the other time the system software itself restarted
@@sshhaank are those problems fixed now? Still the gear issue was a serious problem because you don't want be stuck in traffic due that. Overall how is the car for daily 120 km travel?
@@karanjadhav4597 i have car for about 1.5 months now, and no issues since 1 month.. car drives amazing.. for 120km, u will hav to keep charging daily i guess since i am getting about 270- 280 km range for full charge in city mode
Chassis: Nexon was test for EV so it carried over with existing frame. Tiago was test for mass market. The new platform (used in Punch) would surely be under development when Nexon EV Max came out (it takes time to build, test and get approvals). So it is less about they fixed mistake but more like "lets first see if people are buying it". I heard this in one of the recent interview from senior Tata person. Battery and Range: For range, Tiago EV in general consumes 130Wh/Km and with EV understood driving this can be 110Wh/KM. It being 24kWh battery the range would be 184KM and 218KM respectively. (In winters it can further come down to 100Wh/KM (240KM) and we have achieved 85Wh/KM (282KM as well)). So with 35kWh battery of Punch the numbers can 150Wh/KM, 125Wh/KM and 100Wh/KM mostly translating to 233KM, 280KM and 350KM. Build: I have Hexa and I still see the build issue in cars of that cost 😅
@@Naps56 Bought a 5yr old used (1L KM) Hexa just a year back. Not shifting anytime soon. The confidence this car gives while driving is something I don't get in Innova as well (not sure about the Hycross though).
Shumi's summary 10/10. Crisp audio, great detailing with b rolls and all those overlays. I like the jumbled way of topics! kinda keeps me interested (personally).
My Dad is a big fan of the RE Super Meteor 650 for the way it looks, showed your ThisConnect episode to him about it. At first, he saw the length of the episode and was a little hesitant to listen to the entire thing, but once he did listen to it he loved it, the amount of detail you guys presented about the vehicle itself and its experience is just mind blowing to him.
I think we used to have the same conversation about whether I should pay ₹2L extra for diesel over petrol and the answer would be if your daily driving is more, you would recover the extra money paid for the diesel engine in the long run. The same applies here. If your daily driving is 50-100 km, you can recover the extra premium of an EV quickly. The only caveat is that EV has the range issue that diesel engines never had. So from an economical POV, EV is suitable if mostly you have a daily driving of 50-100km in the city and occasional road trips to nearby picnic/tourist spots. IMO, EVs make much more sense for cab drivers because they can easily do about 200 km daily in the city, charge the passengers the same amount as other ICE cabs, and recover the invested money quickly. For others, you are investing the extra money more for the experience and less for savings.
@@motorinc That does it, then, doesn't it? If someone drives 30,000km in two years, there is the cost recovered right there - in two years! And after that, it's a steep downward curve on every km travelled - ₹3 per km (worst case scenario, commercial charging, some states/outlets charging more for stations, best case would be ₹2/km) as compared to ₹4.66 per km (best case scenario of 25km/L and assuming oil price at ₹100/L, ₹10,000 in annual maintenance). What's crucial is to weigh whether people are willing to take 1 hour breaks every 3 hours to charge the battery for longer trips. My dad drives a Tata Punch AMT Creative and he gets 13km/L in city and 22-24km/L on highways. However, he drives less than 8,000km in a year now and EV isn't really a cost effective solution from there. One can make the case for added comfort in even the base Punch EV, but that base model severely limits my father's drive to the hills on weekends.
I'm using Altroz for last 3.5 years, the service where not that great in initial 2 years. Then came Luxon Tata the new sales and service partner in Kerala, I'm honestly saying they actually stepped up the game , very professional approach . Owner of Luxon is Nippon who was famous for Nippon Toyota as well as Incheon kia.
Iam 40 mins into listening, what a conversation, how can someone talk so nicely on such a simple topic.. I could feel that iam part of their discussion. Also it looks like a conversation between a employee who did all the research but speaks humble and the manager who did nothing but still asks right question😊
I listen to you guys when the work kinda gets mundane. And it is an absolute treat. And everytime I watch one of your videos again, I'll notice some more details about the vehicle that I missed the last time. Till now three of my friends/colleagues have bought the bikes I suggested to them, and they thank me everytime we meet. (We work remotely, so we meet like once every 2-4 months...).
Another point about having the charging point where the fuel filler cap would usually go is that when parked, the car now takes up extra room on the side which is not the case when the charger is mounted up front, extra space that can be taken up by two wheelers for people with small garages.
I have a Harrier, and I like the feature of drive modes changing up to the higher mode when accelerating harder. Also, in Guwahati, the Eco drive mode works good because the traffic is that slow.
I drive my Ignis daily to office and I become enthusiastic driver most of the times. I then listen to your reviews to calm me down and I reach office in a good mood. Thank you.
Best part about you guys is that youre not biased like most of the other channels unfortunately and you actually have logical reasoning to support your statements over just simple explanation. Would also love you guys to make another video on the ola s1 pro gen 2 as the entirely new suspension/throttle calibration are big enough changes that its worth another review, and if you could focus a bit more on the handling dept that would be great. If you are still in bangalore and would want to do a video on the s1 pro g2 let me know ill be happy to give my scooter to you guys for testing :D
@@motorinc Thank you! Please keep on pumping the content as 99% of the reviews are just pointing the camera and basically reading the spec sheet. Purchased an ev already but still watch the other ev videos as the content is great look forward for more
@@motorinc ola s1 pro gen 2. By ev generally people get cars in their heads as the first thought but a scooter is a vehicle nonetheless. Was talking about the bajaj chetak review you guys did a few days ago. My father does want to go with a electric car too but given that the technology is immature and will evolve rapidly because it hasnt been researched upon kept me holding on for longer. + extra price/lack of fast chargers/charging infra in general is again is just restricting a bit more
In one of your previous videos I had mentioned how on Oct 6th 2023, I had given my Harrier XZ (the OG first gen) to the Lakshmi Tata OMR (chennai) to repair a rat bite. When you mentioned "service" I had to give you an update. Short version spoiler. I still don't have my car back. Long version, after pongal holidays they did give me the car and you know how after a heart surgery a human just looks 5 years older and other organs are affected, my car feels 10 year old even though it's 4.5 year old. They changed couple of wiring harness and airbag module and somehow managed to add these issues: 1. Steerling alignment is off by 10-15 degrees (yes they delivered it like this). I don't know how the delivery driver drove it like that to my office. 2. Battery drains overnight 3. Airbag indication still persists intermittently 4. AC works but can't change temperature and many other software errors and issues in drive mode, traction control, hill hold, etc. On top of that, they lost my original RC which was in dashboard storage (I know, stupid of me to keep the OG RC there). Somehow they've also my battery cover but the bolts are there in the glove compartment. At this point, I guess any customer would go to consumer court but with everything going on in my life I just don't have the time and energy to go through that so I got the regional customer care head involved who put me in touch with the GM of this dealership who is supposed to solve all issues. I know you can't do it but if you could, I would want you to ask the TATA leadership "should I buy a TATA EV?". Because their engineers aren't trained to handle the electrical components of lesser sophisticated cars that they have. I mean why spend so much on R&D to build a chasis that's comparable to RR Phantom when in one repair their service engineers can turn a fully functioning car with couple of wiring issuees into a completely non drivable car? As I am writing this comment, I am wating for the GM who is on my case to give me an update with another excuse of why he can't deliver today because I am supposed to get it today.
They answered both the questions I had in the video. Thanks @motorinc Let me give people an interesting story about this vehicle. I booked this vehicle and after booking it, i requested for a test drive in two showrooms in bangalore. I got the worst experience even Presales. They told me the car is not launched and it was just a rumor. Please note: they said this after i finished booking the EV. I had booked it in Salem. Had to cancel the booking because of the bad way tata sales people treated me.
@@motorinc Despite Cancelling the booking I still don't have a confirmation on when I would get the refund. I feel they are still trying to convince me. The questions I had was - 1. Would be practical to have it as the first and only car? 2. How would the service be? I'm only gonna use the car outside the city and would probably ride 50k kms in 8-10 years. Mileage is not an issue at all, But range is. The service issue on the other hand is that, if I had a petrol car and the service centre people are irresponsible, I can go to any mechanic and get it fixed in a petrol vehicle. I can't go to anyone for an EV. I have to rely on Tata. That reliability is not something they have earned today. Also software issues scare me more. The bad service experience comes from my brother's Tigor EV. If anyone from tata reads this and thinks they can improve his experience, reach out to me and I'll connect you with him. Had charge stations brick the vehicle. Tata does send RSA? But it takes time. If this happens in any remote areas, at odd time, though the chances are very narrow, you'll feel the stress. They really need to have better people in dealerships. (This all night just be my pessimism for anyone reading. But if I'm spending 15 lacs on a car, I'm not supposed to in fear and anxiety. Just not my cup of tea. I put my peace of mind over anything else)
love the way technically you guys explain and have conversation in studio. i have been following you guys from the very early years.. and this MotorInc has all together a different presentation. Kudos to you guys
The regen worked because the battery might not actually be full. They could have limited the usable battery capacity and maintained some buffer capacity. The buffer can also compensate for range loss over time, so that the end user doesn’t notice the range loss.
U guys should start a series with guests for sat down discussion & have a free flowing conversation like u guys do normally. Guest suggestion ather ceo, ola ceo and mahindra ceo .
Actually a CEO who drives/rides what he/she sells would be better. Even if that's a (remote) possibility, the best would be a conversation with an actual buyer-cum-user - especially after the honeymoon phase of new car ownership is over.
I am one of those guys who listens to this podcast on Spotify while doing other stuff. Like on last Sunday, I was cleaning and polishing my motorcycle which got a bit dirty. I put on two podcasts from motorinc first back to back, and started doing my thing. By the time I was done it was already two hours up, my motorcycle was all cleaned polished and lubed and looked like this thing just rolled out of a showroom, yet during this entire process I was neither tired nor bored like everything I did was on autopilot mode. So as far as any improvements are considered, in my pov this podcasts lies strictly within "it ain't broken don't fix it region." So please keep up the good work, because looks like my vehicle's maintenance routine somewhat depends on it.😜
I don't know about punch having a punch but the sophistication of this podcast definitely has a punch. "You can't see the logo once you are in the car" I laughed hard. Effort being put right from graphics to the important pointers being textualized. Whoever has designed the entire setup deserves a praise.
Your content quality is very addictive. Kudos! I have been following and watching your reels and conv like this one. Pretty interesting way to present. Thanks for Standing out!
On price, an apples to apples comparison would be on road price as for the electric versions there is lower taxation. With that considered, the gap would be much narrower.
I loved the discussion... It was fun and punchy 😂 Great to see the experts all through these years ever since the days of seeing them..or only chance was to see them through auto magazines ❤
Another great review and analysis. I am no car effition.. efficiona.. effitio ... car knowledge person and it amazes me how a person can sit in a car and notice things about brake regen and suspension and chasis. On top of that the high quality production and language is very viewer friendly and makes me want to trust your review.
According to Gagan Chowdry and Vikas from ICN The chassis length can be increased for cars like Safari and Harrier! Please check it, so I feel next line of ev’s from Tata should have this same platform, which is a Win!
I just love this channel - knowledge, real world experience, logical explanation and lots of fun conversation that makes me crack up so well. It's a complete show not just a vehicle review. Amazing!
I have been a subscriber for a while now, but this is my first comment here. The content you guys are putting out is just awesome. I have been watching you guys individually for years now, I am 35 and an auto enthusiast so yeah. But never thought your combo would work so well. Awesome job guys, keep it coming!!
Test drove this a couple days ago for my sister's daily commuting vehicle. My biggest problem with the car is the lack of physical buttons. Almost everything is touch now. It's terrible. When I pointed it out, the guy said, "Sir, everything is voice controlled now, here's how." His voice command failed 4/4 times. It was embarrassing tbh. I had this weird conversation at the very beginning of the test-the guy was explaining variants and that there's a long range variant and there's a medium range. I was surprised and quickly said "wow 3 battery sizes!" It was awkward as he explained the smaller battery is called the medium. Well done TATA. The vehicle I drove was Tata Punch Empowered+ LR S.
I have a first gen tata Tigor Diesel (2018). The biggest problem with their dealer network is that they were never ready for so much volume+so many big cars (needs large workshops). I had once given in my car for some minor bodywork and tail lamp replacement (for which insurance replacement was approved). The car sat in their lot untouched for almost 40 days. Then they took another 14 days to actually finish the job only when I went to Tata Twitter and the HQ Escalated my issue to the service center. Love my car as a product, good ride quality, decent dynamics, always feels solid, great great great sound system (beats a base model 2023 GLE sound system, trust me have tested). But my next car cannot be a tata, too much pain in aftersales. Don't have this much time, or money, or mindspace. Need some peace of mind.
Very nuanced, useful conversation. I was interested in this vehicle as soon as i came to know about it. I would rate it the best in India right now for the city car role. Automatic, powerful, safe, high seating, narrow footprint, robust and absorbent suspension, the suspension is specifically made to be 'gunned' on the worst of roads. Add to that the electric vehicle benefits, instant power and torque, and the super low running cost, and you have a winner, which is unbeatable right now. It's a mini-tank, which is fast and exciting to drive too, with almost nil running cost!
I do not know about anyone else, but I have to force myself to pause, think on what these pundits have talked about, and then savour the understanding and the nuance that Karthikeya brings in, and the genuine manner of Shubhabrata's reactions. This is truly my steaming hot cup of coffee, best savoured in bursts. Strangely however at no points later do I think that it was an episodic experience for me, rather I see it as a 4 hour long experience with experts. Also the content makes me content at all times.
Two vehicles are very close to my heart and are absolutely absolutely underrated. I would love to see good quality review of both of them on this channel. So please make a video on The Tata Hexa and The Mahindra Mojo.
As a 20+ year old student and a petrol head, i listen to them while im writing my records. Heck i love their content so much, i revisit podcasts from thisconnect as well as first
Good to hear what TATA are doing and kudos for them🙌. Buying a EV in a country like India is an hard commitment due to our demographic be it the road network or charging infrastructure. But more than all it depends on which part of the country you are in. Remote places like hill stations/ghats, coastal belt, desert acquired land, snow/Himalayas and high altitude locations are the main concerns we need to look into as most or even all the EV manufactures only target tier 1,2 cities. That's where ICE cars have improved so well over years and one should only wait to buy EV in these regions with proper infrastructure and service and a promise by a brand.
It was fun to watch. Having watched other videos which seem to be completely biased and not thorough, this was a refreshing experience. Kudos you to you guys!
@@tushardang9773 at what speeds do you drive generally. Is the aerodynamics of punch playing downer. What is it exactly. A 35 kwh battery should provide atleast 330 kms easily considering it doesn't take much long to adapt to ev driving.
42:40 Even I felt it that way! Its slightly tilted. May be because that one is a moving part. What I'm actually able to observe is that may be that whole part is not alligned to the rest of the body. You can see in the left part of that logo panel. Its mis alligned. I felt similar issues even with the new Nexon ICE version as well.
Lol was really funny hearing you both speak about tata and its legacy issues with launch events and finishing of its cars. Here’s my experience.. I am from Pune, took delivery of a Tata Tiago EV on the 23rd Dec 2023. I had done the PDI (amateur level) a week prior & everything looked fine. On 23rd suddenly got a call from the dealership that the car is ready and if I could take delivery same day. Excited, I went ahead and confirmed. Went to the dealership at around 2:30 to complete formalities while the car was being brought from the yard around 10kms out. Did the formalities and since the car had not arrived yet, I confirmed pickup for evening. In the evening delivery time, my wife noticed a couple of dents in the rear which they said they’ll fix the next day and although a bummer, I didn’t mind it much as it could happen to anyone anytime. After delivery, rode for a couple of kms to realise that the AC doesn’t work. Took it back to the dealership only to be assured that it’ll be fixed the next day. Big bummer but no option to live with it so went straight to a temple nearby for pooja. Got done with that and when i tried unlocking the car with keyless entry, it won’t work. It simply won’t unlock itself. Finally after getting a crash course on how to use the flip key on the remote (if u haven’t tried it, trust me it needs a crash course and some serious force) it finally opened and we went back home. 24th-31st the car was at the garage they call “EV breakdown center”. When they delivered it back on the 31st they assured everything had been sorted. Later found out that the AC would only work for the first 10 mins of running and then shutdown for good. Went back to the garage a couple of weeks later only to finally get it fixed after 5 more days. I’d like to state this clearly here, its a bloody good car for my purpose. But what horrible purchase experience. I mean how could the PDI team not have known the keyless entry doesn’t work once the remote is out of range for a while? How could the PDI team not know that the AC doesn’t work? Just pure carelessness completely spoiling the whole experience. And now however good the car be in the coming years, never ever a TATA again! Shouldn’t be thinking like that but it was nice to hear you guys speak about it… good to know its not just me and my luck with TATA 😅
I'm expecting the delivery of my punch ev adventure LR in the next couple of days, this podcast definitely helped to tilt my purchase decision towards it. Thanks guys.
@@motorinc since you guys appreciated the heads-up here's a follow-up. Despite the ugliest panel gaps that would screw up the wind tunnel metrics, best darned automotive decision I ever took. After 25 years of driving manuals, both petrol and diesels, cracked the driving code for this beauty. Regen 3 for choc-o-block traffic (1st gear) to no Regen being the equivalent of 5th gear. It's driving nirvana. BTW Tata Motors has removed the puncture repair toolkit needed to repair flats incl ancillaries like scissor jack, spanner etc from June chassis onwards. I suspect it's because of clueless customers placing the jack wrong causing the battery to dent or worse pierce, escalating the puncture into a severe problem. However, just might be for weight saving or cost cutting, as a team-bhp image doing the rounds suggests. In any case it means if my car did suffer a flat, I would be at the mercy of Tata Motors' tow-away service. Would be interesting to know if the Curvv EV comes with a spare/puncture toolkit
@@motorinc Tata has started removing all puncture repair kits and ancillary equipment (jack, spanner) and just provides the tow handle for this car and probably for other models. Means their Road assistance program has better be good.
at 37:33 discussing about the slow response with the eco mode, it could also be a perfect use case for the bumper-to-bumper traffic situations where a super dulled throttle is convenient. I have this experience with my TVS Icube as well, while I'm in traffic, the sport mode feels very snachy and so i quickly move to the eco mode where it becomes much more manageable...
Eagerly waiting for Shumi Sir's GIF images like the look he gives at 51:55 !Totally worth it wen your trying to show you agree with someones point of view 🤔🤔🤔
Hullo! Point 2 is easily answered - yes. Point 1 - as of now it’s a feel more than a fact - but yes. We have to drive both more and preferably together to be clear on this. But broadly - Punch punches hard.
This was a kickass review, Kudos to the team, I did check the picture, and it tilted towards the left for sure. about the podcast on other channels does not work for me cause I like to see you guys on the big screen it is either the laptop or the TV. (You miss the small funny expressions without the video)
I think there's a logical thinking behind why Tata decided not to include spare wheel as standard. Most people are going to drive an EV in cities only, where puncture is rare if you keep your tyre in good shape. And even if you got one you can repair it with puncture kit or simply use a tyre inflator and drive it to nearest shop easily. And even if you got a puncture beyond repair you can still call a mechanic in cities easily. But you have to have a spare one when going for a tour outside city.
Actually Battery density and power frigures have gone up significantly over the years, so much so, that we are seeing a massive shift from NMC and other Nickel based cells to LFP based cell worldwide, which are supposed to be less power/energy dense. And yet, these new breed of LFP cells and the new battery pack architecture with a combination of electricals/electronics and software is delivering similar range/performance as the nickel based battery cells. 2023 was the first year when total LFP battery cells usage crossed the 50% mark, and it's only gonna go up. The plus is, LFP cells have 2-3 times longer life, are much less fire prone, not explosive, the only downside is they lose more range in subzero/near zero climate, but are better in withstanding heated conditions, so really a plus in all front in Indian driving condition.
Car manufacturers realized that if their cars can drive through our Bengaluru 40% roads, they can go anywhere and will be able to impress content creators.
Lot of people (nexon ev owners) are facing these issues : 1. Especially if the vehicle has run 25 to 30k kms then, the limp mode gets activated at any random SoC (like 25% where it should not get activated) 2.HV errors - These errors pop up in two situations - A. Driving at lower SoCs B. If there is power cut off while fast charging, the fluctuations in power (voltage spikes) cause HV errors. These HV errors will make you stranded and you have to tow your vehicle to the service centre. Very very annoying! Practically one has to maintain SoC above 20% and plan the journey accordingly for peace of mind. Things to be considered while buying...
@@motorinc yes, Nexon prime (MR as they call it now). I never faced these issues, but interestingly today after 15,432kms in ~1.5years, when driving I faced SoC drop issue. Within span of 1km, my SoC dropped from 40% straight to 13%! I had to cancel my plans (wanted to bring back my wife from hospital to home!) So, when I started charging it again interestingly SoC shot up again to around 41% very quickly ( this is not as expected because all this happened within 1hr 30mins - the gain of ~40% SoC ! Generally due to voltage fluctuations and it charges only 10% within this time duration) These issues of SoC drop are also being faced by other owners.
Thank you for yet another detailed review! I have a question: If I'm considering the top model of Punch EV, its around 16L, and yes it feels like a more well-rounded package. But then I think about the XUV 400 EL Pro which is about 2.5 lacs more and that one feels a lot more premium, more spacious, and I loved the audio on XUV a lot better than the one on Punch top (may be the unit I TD had an issue, but it felt lower quality than the one on my 2022 Tigor EV). And given the issues of not tuning the drive modes properly on XUV - I am not able to decide if it's better to save those 2.5 lacs and go with the Punch, whose driving experiece will be good, at the risk of repeating of the many service issues that I have seen with my Tigor EV), along with the possible niggles with the tech or actually spend the 2.5 lacs and get a more premium experience with more power which i will need to manage manually rather than relying on the car to handle it and a little bit more range on the 40KWH battery pack but at the cost of missing some features, and also I'm not sure how Mahindra service is, especially for EVs? So not sure if the additional 2.5 lacs is justified Please help!!!

I showed my friends the image of the logo and asked them if they could find anything off about it. They gave various answers ranging from fit and finish, panel gap inconsistency, scratched surfaces, etc etc. When i showed some more people the same image and asked them if it looked tilted, almost all of em agreed that it was undoubtedly slightly tilted.

Thanks for sharing you garage with us SS. Look forward to more updates.

Chassis:
Nexon was test for EV so it carried over with existing frame.
Battery and Range:
For range, Tiago EV in general consumes 130Wh/Km and with EV understood driving this can be 110Wh/KM.
Build:
I have Hexa and I still see the build issue in cars of that cost 😅
Maybe a move up from Hexa to Nexa is in order?
Gohil - 100pc agree
Thanks for crunching the numbers!
@@Naps56 Bought a 5yr old used (1L KM) Hexa just a year back. Not shifting anytime soon. The confidence this car gives while driving is something I don't get in Innova as well (not sure about the Hycross though).

@@doraemontelugu3629ev or petrol?
@@30harbakshsingh45 petrol
Spot on Ameya! But we think the daily use has to be closer to 100 than 50.
Agreed@@motorinc
@@motorinc
That does it, then, doesn't it?

Haha! Thanks Ashok!
Oh sweet! Thanks so much for letting us know!
Another point about having the charging point where the fuel filler cap would usually go is that when parked, the car now takes up extra room on the side which is not the case when the charger is mounted up front, extra space that can be taken up by two wheelers for people with small garages.
Thanks for the perspective!
I have a Harrier, and I like the feature of drive modes changing up to the higher mode when accelerating harder. Also, in Guwahati, the Eco drive mode works good because the traffic is that slow.
Thanks for sharing! What kind of efficiency do you get?
Harrier returns superb fuel economy. I have a manual, it return 15 in city in Delhi and 20 on the highway

Would also love you guys to make another video on the ola s1 pro gen 2 as the entirely new suspension/throttle calibration are big enough changes that its worth another review, and if you could focus a bit more on the handling dept that would be great. They changed couple of wiring harness and airbag module and somehow managed to add these issues:
1. Steerling alignment is off by 10-15 degrees (yes they delivered it like this). I don't know how the delivery driver drove it like that to my office.
2. Battery drains overnight
3. Airbag indication still persists intermittently
Oh My God! So sorry to hear that! And thank you for keeping us posted.
They answered both the questions I had in the video. Thanks @motorinc
Let me give people an interesting story about this vehicle.
Oh no! Would love to know what the questions were. Also - do you still have the booking?
@@motorinc Despite Cancelling the booking I still don't have a confirmation on when I would get the refund. I feel they are still trying to convince me.
The questions I had was -

The regen worked because the battery might not actually be full.
They could have limited the usable battery capacity and maintained some buffer capacity.
The buffer can also compensate for range loss over time, so that the end user doesn’t notice the range loss.

So as far as any improvements are considered, in my pov this podcasts lies strictly within "it ain't broken don't fix it region." @@motorinc yeah sure. But cringe is cringe infront of a camera.
The touch controls are annoying! They aren’t responsive enough.
Ufff. We feel you!
Hahaha! He who is Content is King! And - thank you SG for your time and attention. Makes our world go around!

Agreed, EV decision depends on plug point access.
Schumi's head turns with that " you will never improve" looks are my favourites

In terms of Suspension and ride quality, do you recommend Punch or Nexon EV?
Hooboy! Now just imagine if those issues hadn’t happened. What an experience Tata would stand for.
14:30 Good Point!

I'm expecting the delivery of my punch ev adventure LR in the next couple of days, this podcast definitely helped to tilt my purchase decision towards it. Thanks guys.
Glad to hear that @MrDebranjandutta. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for the encouragement!
So 2 questions.. 1. Is punch ev better than nexon ev if I plan to buy an ev. 2. Will punch ev provide a better ownership experience compared to punch
Hullo!
Point 2 is easily answered - yes.
Point 1 - as of now it’s a feel more than a fact - but yes. We have to drive both more and preferably together to be clear on this. But broadly - Punch punches hard.
Great Video. Lenthy but I watched it till the end❤. Apart from the new Chasis, is there any Volts difference between Nexon and Punch?

(You miss the small funny expressions without the video)
Aniruddha! Missed you! Glad you enjoyed the watch! How are things?
Kartikeya's very relieved he's not OCD 🤣
I think there's a logical thinking behind why Tata decided not to include spare wheel as standard.
Most people are going to drive an EV in cities only, where puncture is rare if you keep your tyre in good shape. And even if you got one you can repair it with puncture kit or simply use a tyre inflator and drive it to nearest shop easily. And even if you got a puncture beyond repair you can still call a mechanic in cities easily.
But you have to have a spare one when going for a tour outside city.
Fair enough!
Thanks for the deep dive! Super helpful!
Car manufacturers realized that if their cars can drive through our Bengaluru 40% roads, they can go anywhere and will be able to impress content creators.
🤣
Good morning @Motorinc 😎😎, was just waiting to see you guys...
Good to see you too SS!
Did i miss explanation on the tyres and alloys?
Lot of people (nexon ev owners) are facing these issues :
1. Especially if the vehicle has run 25 to 30k kms then, the limp mode gets activated at any random SoC (like 25% where it should not get activated)
2.HV errors - These errors pop up in two situations -
A. Driving at lower SoCs
Thanks for sharing Omkar. Do you have one? Would like to know your first hand experience.
@@motorinc yes, Nexon prime (MR as they call it now).
I never faced these issues, but interestingly today after 15,432kms in ~1.5years, when driving I faced SoC drop issue.
Within span of 1km, my SoC dropped from 40% straight to 13%!
I had to cancel my plans (wanted to bring back my wife from hospital to home!)
So, when I started charging it again interestingly SoC shot up again to around 41% very quickly ( this is not as expected because all this happened within 1hr 30mins - the gain of ~40% SoC ! Generally due to voltage fluctuations and it charges only 10% within this time duration)
These issues of SoC drop are also being faced by other owners.
Lovely sir 👌 👏 was eagerly waiting ✋️
Thanks Satyam!
Cleaning a pile of Utensils was much more fun while listening to this. Thanks for this podcast. 💗
Oh man! Thanks for sharing that! ❤️
Thanks for reviewing the Tata Punch. ev literally was waiting for your words on it , thanks once again 👍🏼
Glad to hear that! Do let us know if you have any questions. Happy to help.
Plzz do the Range test of Punch ev ... would be very helpful 🙂
Was waiting for the whole video for schumi tilt gesture when karthikeya was talking about the infotainment. Thank god it came when the logo was discussed 😂🙏🏻
🤣
Are there any plans for a Harrier/Safari ev? I feel it would make a lot of sense as these cars don’t
have much competition from the segment above(Fortuner is much more expensive and Meridian is all but irrelevant) Great video btw
Yes, Tata does intend to have the Harrier EV out later this year, the Safari EV should follow next year
Does the eco mode feel faster than regular ICE cars accelartion ?
How do you judge a Steering wheel if its good or no. What does connected and disconnected mean
🤜🏽🤛🏽
Happy to hear all praises for punchev.......but i never trust their initial batch vehicles........what is better time to buy where they fix initial issues........ should i wait for 6 months or 1year or its 1st facelift.... please suggest
Facelift is a long way, but a few months of wait is reasonable.
I listen to MotorInc podcast while driving back home from work.
How long is the commute? And where? Sorry, just curious. That way it’ll be like we’re on the drive with you.
@@motorinc Anywhere between 1½ to 3 hours (when I visit sites in neighbouring districts of Gorakhpur like Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Siddharth Nagar and Ambedkar Nagar).
I am suffering with a doubt
Tested these two
Duke 390
Cb 300r
Cant decide between the two but cb 300r feels easier and not challenging where dukes as alwas is exiting and challenging in a good way
But should i wait for vitpilen 401 i loved the global design and hope hasqvarna will bring to india.
Planning to buy between may or july this year.
Shubratha's punches are excellent
Nice episode. Based on what on the discussion, is it safe to assume that the Punch.EV can be recommended as a good first electric car?
Yes!
This studio has very cold lighting which makes it harsh to watch in low light or in night
Some warm elements will make the frame eye pleasing and comfortable
Thanks for the suggestion!
