I think, I just had an existential moment, when i heard the old ass osrs music in 2:36, I just got hit with the biggest nostalgia hit ever, So much, I just closed my ayes and rested my muscles. Fuck, I miss this fuckin game!!!!
So 2 things about the hammers. 1) They should update the set effect to maybe make it so the second hit at least can do 75% max hit, giving a slight bonus to dps instead of the damaging to run. 2) This 2 hit attack is a minimal dps increase if the proposed minimum hit of 1 vote went through, idr if it passed or not, or if it was an overall announced change. So as long as you would hit, you always minimally hit 2 instead, thus making it maybe nice for low level slayer/skips and point boosting, making the kills just slightly faster
The people complaining about new weapons for mid game players are the same people who cry on twitter to mod ash that they should get to keep their max cape when sailing releases
Nah man, it's all about the point made at 6:28. Creating too strong of a linear weapon progression can make getting cool niche drops feel worth less because there's better options that are easier to obtain. Strangely enough adding new weapons can reduce weapon variety in the end if not done well, which is sad
Cool video. Torags idea: There should be a small % chance that the second hit hits the exact same spot as the first hit. This would cause the target (npc or player) to say "ah shit, dead leg" or "ah shit, dead arm, you bastard." If leg, lower run energy, if arm, lower strengths.
One gap I think torags could fill is turael skipping. Maybe make it good against low hp/low def monsters. Something like an execute effect that if you one shot an enemy the next attack has less delay. Or make every hammer has it's own attack speed, so if you kill an enemy with one hammer you can use the other to attack other enemy, that'd be so cool.
If the price of the Axe settles between 300k-1.2m, then it could also be a nice middle stage weapon for mains as well, since while the whip isn't really considered that exprnsive nowadays, it's still a 2000%+ increase in price from the D-Scim
I like the idea of utilizing more weapon options depending on fights. Being an ironman with a d scim and rune c bow, I don't expect changes till 85+ slayer
There's another stealth buff to Torag's hammers. If you hit twice for the same overall dps, that has the side effect of flattening out your damage so that you're more likely to hit closer to your average. For example let's say your max hit is 10, your chance of dealing 10 (or zero) on a hit is 1 in 11 (remember you can hit 0s). If you have 2x5 max hits instead, that drops to 1 in 36 to deal 10. But to compensate, your chance of hitting for 5 is 1 in 6. So basically, if you ever find yourself in a situation where it's important that you hit consistently but don't necessarily need to hit hard, then Torag's could have a small niche there. Unfortunately in those situations you might be better off with knives which have range and hit 2.5 times in the time it takes Torag's to hit twice, so it might be too small of a niche. But it's something at least.
70 smithing is a joke even as an Ironman. The gathering of materials of it is not cheap but 100% doable with profits at the end. Steen Warhammer/battleaxe from kourend volcano arear just next to slayer master is 2 bar value at giants foundry and buy iron scimitar from AL Kharid 1 bar value. When you finish fremenic trials, you can buy mith claws from the island you charge taxes at also worth 1 bar per item. This will be earning you gp+good experience rate Edit: Start out with 100k gp to minimize the runs for mats you have to do

I think personally with the Zombie Axe concept it seems decent to be behind a Lv70 Smithing requirement, however I could see having a lower level such as Lv60 or Lv65 Smithing, but also needing a mid to low level slayer to attack the Zombies could be another way to make it not so instantly obtainable.

Good point! Although it only works with an amulet of the damned which puts a lot of people off - Still, some decent potential there for perilous moons you're right
I just came from rs3 and started my first iron. I have to say I enjoy oldschool a lot. But some progression paths don't seem right. Im really excited to have a weapon in between d-scimm and whip. Having to grind 85 slay, alongside all of the QoL requirements you need to have to even endure the grind, is just to much. I like to start bossing and do some mid lvl stuff. There is so much end game content already. Its time mid-game gets some love. While Im at that a mid-game ring and amulett upgrade would be also great. Grinding 82 hunter for a glory and daganoth rings being the only viable option for combat rings is a bit daunting
Literally we need more mid and low lvl pvp and pvm content glad they are pumping the mid lvl content. Waiting for the low lvl content to buff up my pures.
Huge buff for torags instead of run energy could be every 4th missed attack you attack a 3rd time. You could still miss that third attack but it would roll back into that pummel. Would be a little cooler for low lvl players and would make some steady dps weapons or make its attack speed or damage increase the longer you fight a target so long encounters it would be more optimal. You could even make it drain your run energy for increased dmg/speed so the ring of endurance had more use.

The axe is cool. filling mid game gaps is nice. Variety is also nice, why is scimitar only viable weapon of its tier up to dragon from bronze. Buffing battleaxes, maces, spears, swords, ect to match dps of scimitars would be great
I think there should altogether be more early-midgame unique items that require grinding. Wearing gear that has taken me hours of grinding the same monster feels more satisfying than wearing quest gear.
I mean, i like that they add more ironman options, i dont use a main, mainly because i dont like paying my way through content - so adding more options that a ironman can have is pretty good to me 👍

Definitely more of an ironman thing but I think more midlvl stuff for ironmen is a good thing. The jump from mid game gear into endgame for an ironman is honestly brutal, the best option being locking yourself in CG for 200 hours. More options is welcome. ToA was a step in the right direction, being do-able with minimal gear so you can atleast roll for a very low chance at some endgame upgrades. Warped sceptre was a game changer for ironmen, cheaper and more dps than ibans and lets you use any spellbook. These things do make the entry into endgame lower for ironmen but I don't think thats a bad thing. Personally I grinded out 87 slayer before touching any endgame content and it was fine but I can see how some people would want more options For main accounts, eh its whatever
I hope that Jagex will get around to buffing some non-meta weapons like shortswords, longswords, battle axes, spears, or longbows. It is sad how they have be stuck at being worse than other weapons at their tier. It would be nice if they had a role. There already is a weapon between the dragon scimitar and the abyssal whip. It is called the Sarachnis cudgel. It comes from a boss, so it may be hard for an Ironman to get tho.
@@garystill1308 I would have to find a DPS calculator to check, and I am lazy. Assuming that it would work, then longswords, spears and other weapons would also need buffs. It shouldn't be a problem tho. Stat changes for items are one of the easiest changes in a game.
Sick, I’m really glad I got my whip in time to make absolutely 0 use of the new weapon and that it diminishes my scim to whip grind. Welp, time to start over.
I cant see the zombie axe having stats that high upon release, it's only half a second slower than the whip and more powerful than the fang without its nerf and stupid abilities, how is that an in between for the dscim and whip? I'm pretty sure it would hit higher than the leaf bladed battle axe even on task with a slayer helm and that comes with the extra req of at least 55 slayer
You say torags aren't useful in PvP, however.. there was ones time we were multi pking at lavadragons and we slaughtered the whole team with the last person running west of gate to the singles line and my boi torag'd this last man and he was walking 10 tiles away from singles and we fked thay poor man on the line. feels odd for new stats of axe also, like they give insane str bonus for new axe but take thier time to say kinda fix stuff like scythe which lot moaned over and that scythe for rareity, price while also been end game should get bonus like that i think. Also im still fang user and think scythe could benefit off str bonus as to make it useful more for people who own one.
leaf-bladed battleaxe felt like such an awesome crush upgrade when I got it. Kind of sad this same level requirement axe beats it so extremely drastically
I think they should work on adding dozens and dozens of new gear options. It's incredibly boring gear progression in osrs. No other MMORPG is so minimal, no other mmo can you immediately identify every single weapon and armor piece you see someone walk by in lol. While yes, that does mean all of the items are iconic, it also means the choices are minimal. I'd like to see someone walk by in awesome gear and be like "ayo what the heck is that?"
70 smithing is very easy on an IM with giant's foundry. It was one of the first things I did just because it was the best early game money maker. The zombie axe would shortcut a huge portion of the game. Even if the drop rate is low they have stated it's multicombat so players will quickly slaughter them with burst spells/chinchompas. The hurdle for a weapon better than a dragon scimitar is currently a bit tough with your options being either slayer, K'ril, raids, or gauntlet, but now it's just going to be do a quest and kill some mid-tier mobs. Honestly takes a lot of the achievement out of overcoming mid-game imo.
@@lampisfun1139 most people that play this game haven't even clscrarched the surface of what's on it I get people that are maxed with zuk helms that want new stuff, but the majority just burns out because they like only one aspect of the game, stay on it, and just get bored.
Honestly takes a lot of the achievement out of overcoming mid-game imo.
i liked ur zombie axe art
I'm against the axe
And I also think things are going too fast with these updates
Way too fast dude. They r gonna ruin it. No one can possibly keep up…
True, I hate when they add new items and enemies to fight, let me just burn out on the same shit for 4,000 hours

@@lampisfun1139 most people that play this game haven't even clscrarched the surface of what's on it
I get people that are maxed with zuk helms that want new stuff, but the majority just burns out because they like only one aspect of the game, stay on it, and just get bored. That's a player problem, not a game problem
I play this game since 2004 and I've seen so many updates...
I've seen barrows, d chain, I've seen the introduction of slayer. I saw the msb nerf from 25% special attack to 55%
And I've seen the worst update too, that was the eoc.
When eoc came out it was a time that had a looot of updates. Graphics update, new skill (dungeoneering) only 2 years after releasing summoning, nex, tormented demons, nomad's requiem....
So many updates in such a tight span of time.
No one can keep up with that unless they are already maxed
Bring it back to when whip or d scim was bis melee lol
