@@rudolfs3389 As far as I can tell, nobody on the chateau team is a carpenter. Dan is a gardener, Nick is a tree surgeon, and Brian is a roofer. What each has learned beyond that, they’ve learned on the job.
I admire and respect what the gentlemen have learned. But I don't know if they shouldn't have invited a professional, at least as a consultant, for such a professional job as the roof. Enthusiastic amateurism may not go well here. But I'm a big fan of historical reconstructions!@@slicksalmon6948

@@rudolfs3389 Dan has talked about his plans getting reviewed by an engineer, but he’s never been specific about who that is. Nonetheless I agree an actual carpenter would be nice. He hired a stone mason at one point, so maybe he’s generating enough income to bring in some professional expertise.
Great vlog today and thanks for taking us biking with you. Just watched Dan's vlog and hope you tell him for all of us that he is crazy for working that high by himself. He has his kids to think of and none of us want to see a final ever vlog that you might have to do in the event of a disaster when he does something really stupid at the chateau.

Your bike rides so remind me of when I was a child. We had a forest with bicycle paths like that. We rode those on our old two wheelers. I'd have been riding with a dress on. It was one of my happiest memories! Glad you are carrying on the tradition. We never had the bikes and gear you have now, but no matter, it was all game on!!

OMG - head over the handle bars time! When Tour de France (Barry Wiggins no less) cycled past my very own front door a few yrs back, the outriders checked the surface of the road for about 30 mins beforehand - just in case!
I had a busy day got to this very late in the evening over here. As per normal you’re never without things to do, and the mountain biking is one of the passions you’ll never pass up it looks like until, like you said, it might be passing you up. Loved the ride! That place was great, what a fun park. Ok, so maybe TMI but I grew up in New York City, I learned to drive a car but nothing else really. I moved young to Indiana countryside and I swore if I had children they would know how to drive anything. My daughter rode mini bikes, motorcycles and took her driving test during a snowstorm in my Jeep in 4 wheel drive. She's pretty awesome, works on all her own vehicles too. So she's taught me a bit. So my rule is just don't get old, I still ride and play and when the grandkids say Nana you shouldn't do that I reply "hold my coffee!"
