I have been to several consultations with both Dentists and Orthodontists about getting Damon braces and I am still undecided. Half said 4 tooth extractions were needed. the other half said they could do without extractions. All made different points, but what one of the dentists said stuck with me - your teeth will protrude even more forward without extractions. All were really pushing for Invisalign as the best option which begun to sound more like sales pitch to me, easier for the provider over the benefit. I'm just not convinced of the Invisalign product for my crowding. Anyway. Life story short, I'll just have to pick one.

It's been a while since your comment sorry, but I went with the Orthodontist and Damon braces, clear on the top and normal metal on bottom, no extractions. Instead of extractions they did some IPR/filing between my teeth to make room. I actually just got them off this year. I have big teeth so looking back maybe if I had extractions, it could have been an e even better result, but ultimately I am pleased with no surgery option. Also happy I did not go with Invisalign

I had Invisalign as an adult with a dentist and I regret not going to an orthodontist. There’s such a big difference between the two and their knowledge.

Hello Dr O E-Hillal. Thanks for your amazing videos on TH-cam. As you are an expert I would like to ask you a question. Are there literature or evidence-based practice that supoorts "saliva sprays" while talking due to narrow dental arch?? It's has been 6 years now, that I'm contemplating whether to get braces or not . Even when I slow down when I speak, pronouncing words by words, I unintentionally" spray" saliva to my audience. I do that even to myself when moving my hands while talking. I am very embarrassed of this and sometimes I prefer not engaging with people as I don't want them to be wiping their faces or arms. Will braces fix my problem if my dental arch get widen making more room for my tongue?
Even when I yawn or simply lift my tongue up saliva spray up. Help me please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I needed braces when I was a teenager. My dad is an orthodontist so he did them. No surprise there LOL. Bit I would reccomend anyone to see the appropriate specialist if they have dental concerns beyond the scope of general dentistry. I love my regular dentist bit when I needed a root canal I went to an endodontist (which she referred me to)
