    Yep, just fixed a wheel bearing and the damn sx4 starts running poorly within a couple days. Thanks for the video bud!... and thanks for the other video on the wheel bearing replacement.

      Thanks for the comment =)........Hopefully your sx4 just needs new plugs or something simple....I'm still chasing the infamous vibration problem.......Planning on some more videos soon

      I just realized/found out that the wheel bearing replacement (bearing only, without the entire wheel hub assembly) will usually leave a vibration after the replacement. The vibration was lessened considerably, but the mechanic shop that ultimately did the job said they never replace "only: the bearing because the vibration is never really fixed completely and the wear and tear from the old bearing affects the whole unit- not to mention that the replacement of the whole hub unit is a lot easier to do and only affects the cost in a nominal way in the end. WE live and we learn bro. Thanks for the response also. \m/ \m/ Be safe.

      Just saw the comment .....Wish I would have seen it earlier....I agree with your mechanic, It's better and easier to replace the hub =)....Finally found the cause and posted a vid =)....the driveshaft is out of alignment

      just in the process of replacing bearing and sensor. Got frustrated I couldn't easily pull the old sensor out. Was hesitant in drilling the old one out, but after watching this, I see it's the only path to take. Thanks for putting this video up for the rest of us carport mechanics.

    Your rotors are installed backwards. You have them swapped, left one on the right side and rt on the lt.

    • @nitebirdscuffle4213
      @nitebirdscuffle4213  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can install them either way......race car rotors are set up the same way to dissipate heat better

    • @mtpratt32
      @mtpratt32 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nitebirdscuffle4213 Yes they can be installed either way, but that doesn't make either way correct. The slot should sweep the dirt and water out of the brake not into it. Centrifugal force and the slot sweep should help each other and not be fighting against each other.

    Next time, Just drill it out most of the way, then screw a big screw into it and use a prybar to pull the screw along with the rest of the plug. Quick and easy. You can pry against the top of the rotor. You must be the only guy for a 100 miles or more that owns one of these. In VT they are everywhere.

    Awesome video, i have to do the one on my 09' sx4 awd as well but it is the rear left sensor. It seems like most of the sensors say for fwd do you think it makes a difference if its the fwd sensor? I cant seem to find any that specify awd model. Thanks your input is much appreciated.

    Your rotor is on the wrong side. Slots are supposed to point the other way. That one belongs on the drivers side.

    My back wheel sensor rusted and everything around it. What can I do? The shop is a afraid to take it apart thing might break and it would open up more problems. What can I do?

      My favorite kind of problem/solution........Just buy a new hub........Less then $60 U.S. ..........Everything you need already assembled and cheaper.......Even easier then replacing the bearing ........Just bolt on =)

    Thanks for the vid. Local slimeke busted mine doing the wheel bearing. I'm fixing it myself for the same reasons as you. I also need to do rack/pinion, got any advice on that? It looks like a pretty major operation cuz you have to drop the suspension frame!

    When that sensor was bad...
    Did it make it unable to drive?
    My wife's car will not move unless the esp light is on..
    If that light shuts off while driving,. The car will bog down to no speed.
    Unless the light comes back on

    • @nitebirdscuffle4213
      @nitebirdscuffle4213  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The car drove fine with the bad sensor.......Sounds like your traction control is applying the brakes and bogging the car down .........Try turning the traction control off and see if that helps.....

      It sounds like you have a bad switch maybe...stuck rocker.....That might be a quick easy fix /check......if you can find one in a junk yard....or if you can pop it out or try to clean with silicone spray/armor all(just spray the heck out of it from the outside and work the switch =)....good luck........thanks for subscribing........

    Help my ESP light is on when it never used to be, and the ESP on/off button doesn’t seem to be working on my 2010 SX4 same color as yours,
    When I try to drive it the ESP light goes off and the “I’m sliding around symbol” light comes on and takes over my car by slowing me down.
    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated need to fix it it to sell it...thanks in advance

    • @nitebirdscuffle4213
      @nitebirdscuffle4213  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow.....sorry to hear that...Hopefully I have a couple ideas that will help. Chances are you have an intermittently bad wheel sensor. First thing I would try, is unplug both front wheel sensors (in the engine bay) and drive it, see if that helps. You can also test the sensors with a multimeter (AC volts)by jacking the wheel off the ground and spinning the wheel by hand. Could also be a loose or cruddy conection at the connector. I never experienced the traction control coming on and slowing me down when my sensor was bad. Normally you have to hold the ESP button in for a long time, 5-10 seconds, for the light to come on, maybe you can manually turn it back off if the light goes out. Hopefully its just a bad sensor......keep me posted with a comment =)
