  • Rokudan no Shirabe, is perhaps the foremost piece for Koto concerning classical music of Japan. Composed by Yatsuhashi Kengyo, (b. Japan, 1614; d. Japan, 1685). He was a Japanese musician and composer from Kyoto known as the Father of Modern Koto. The name Kengyo is an honorary title given to highly skilled blind musicians.
