    Sir, I don't think I can express enough just how valuable these videos are. Thank you so much, especially for this play as it doesn't have much videos on it. Beautiful summary and interesting points I can't wait to make in my As level essays. Thank you sir, for helping us with this video. I hope you get the views and subscribers you deserve soon because you really are amazing!

      Thank you! That's the plan... But they take me about six months each to research/write/film/edit. It's a one person production... Othello's next! But check out my Midsummer Night's Dream Playlist. That's my latest. I'm also open to suggestions on how to make them better.

    Thank you so much for this, honestly. I've always found Shakespeare's plays so hard to wrap my head around, I can't believe how well you've explained and analysed everything. Keep it up!! I've got my exams coming up and this is just the thing I need :)

      Wow thank you so much for taking the time to leave this comment. I will keep it up, don't worry. I've been hard at work on a series about midsummer night's dream. Should be out in early spring.

    Brakes of ice, what's that? 🙁

    • @shakespeareplaybyplay
      @shakespeareplaybyplay  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah, editors are pretty torn on that one. There is no clear interpretation. Some people edit ice to be 'vice' in order to find meaning there. Within the context it's clear that "running from brakes of ice" is equal to committing some huge sin

      @@shakespeareplaybyplay i guess such confusions merely are there to digest...time has stolen something after all from works of the Bard. Thanks for explaining it 😊

    Sir, your clarity is precise, but i would have liked you to explain some lines which you are quoting....angels weeping and laughing one for instance...

    • @shakespeareplaybyplay
      @shakespeareplaybyplay  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That one is about how no human can stand in full judgement of others. We all play such tricks as would make angels weep. It's about how flawed we all are.

    Why it's always men asking women to satisfy their lust? Women don't feel the sting as strongly as men do? Or has it something to do with societal norms alone?

    • @shakespeareplaybyplay
      @shakespeareplaybyplay  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In the case of Measure, it's about being in positions of power more than it is about lust. It's about being in a position to demand the satisfaction.
