Why doesn't the selvedge go all the way up the side? I see that the pattern tapers away from the selvedge line at the top of the block, what's the purpose of this? Great video.
I have a jean pattern that is not suitable for selvedge as the the side seams are not straight. Can you recommend a PDF jean pattern ? Does cutting your fabric in different direction not matter with Denim?
There is a new pattern by Anna Allen - the Helene that’s a pattern meant for selvage denim. It’s block is aimed at a female shape, I believe, but it may be a resource.
Thanks from New Zealand! I’m making my first pair of jeans and this was just the guidance I needed!
Good stuff, Austin. Would love to see your pattern making process...
Love the pocket watch info!
I’d love to see the folder in action, and the construction generally. Cheers!

You always want to cut on the grainline. You can actually adapt the pattern you have to be able to use on Selvedge denim.

@@christinafisher6244 Thank You ,Christine. I will give it a try as my daughter is wanting me to make her a Jean.. Cheers from Australia.
@@whiskeystitched Cheers mate. Appreciate you taking the time to reply.
your camera angle could be direct above the Yeild/Lay , then we can see your pattern lay , nice video tho
Do you sell your selvedge denim pattern ? Also can you please name the store that has fabrics I believe billy jeans ??
Where can I order card stock that size?
How many yards/meters of selvages denim fabric is needed for a pair of jeans.
On average you’re looking at 2.5-3 yards of narrow loom Selvedge per pair of jeans depending on your pattern and your height.
@@whiskeystitchedwhat weight is this denim?
@@Lilgyrlie1 I think the denim in this video was a 14 oz. White Oak Cone Mills deadstock that we had.
is selvedge denim stiff?
I would assume it’s less stiff since it’s less bulky (you don’t need to add a zigzag stitch or serge it), and it lays pretty flat.
Which is exactly why I will *nevva* use 'em‼😵
Did you make that pattern or you copy from someone else,?
I make all of my own patterns. This was a Selvedge pattern that we produced in my previous business.
Bravo però la telecamera la devi mettere alta non si vede il designer
