Singapore Airlines flight SQ321: Deadly turbulence plunges Boeing 777 at 37000 ft | Fly the Flight

- Singapore Airlines Flight SIA321, a boeing 777 from London to Singapore, encountered severe turbulence on May 20, 2024. The plane, carrying 211 passengers and 18 crew members, was about 10 hours into the 13-hour flight when it ran into air turbulence. The unexpected turbulence lasted around few seconds, violently plunging the aircraft and causing critical injuries to several passengers.
53 Injured passengers and 1 crew member were hospitalized upon landing on Bangkok with injuries ranging from cuts and bruises to fractures and head injuries.
The pilots diverted the flight to Suvarnabhumi Bangkok International airport for emergency landing. Investigations into the cause of the turbulence are underway. Aviation experts remind travelers to keep seatbelts fastened when seated as clear air turbulence can strike without warning. Several pictures shared in media shows plane's aftermath with cabin in disarray. Singapore Airlines is providing assistance to the injured and will conduct investigation regarding the incident. Boeing is also in contact with Singapore airlines regarding the incident.
on May 22, 131 uninjured passengers and 12 crew members arrived to Singapore.
