Feel like doing a Mr. Hopps’ Playhouse Recap/Summary just for a refresher 😗 Though I more suggest watching SuperHorrorBro’s full rundown on this than read the essays I have provided 😅 Order of Events: 2nd Game - Esther (Ruby’s Grandmother) and how she got connected with the toy Mr. Hopp 1st Game - Ruby dealing with the remain of Mr. Hopp after Esther got possessed by The Entity 3rd Game - Esther and Ruby finishing off The Entity and the 3 Toys: Mr. Hopp, Mr. Stripes, and Ms. Bo Full Story of 1+2: Starting with Esther in the orphanage Blackland’s Manor, 1952, we come to the opening of Esther with a vivid nightmare of a girl screaming as she is burned to a stake, with a creepy smiling rabbit flashing and 6 strange circular symbols flashing as well until she wakes up and tells her friends Molly and Issac about the same nightmare being a recurring dream, with each of them having their own opinions on the situation, but nonetheless see it as nothing for now. Following along, a donation of toys are brought to the kids, to which Esther, Issac, and Molly find a toy rabbit, tiger, and panda. The three name their respective toys as what we know as Mr. Hopp, Mr, Stripes, and Ms. Bo, and slight hints of Mr. Hopp being able to move on his own are seen. It is only when one night, Esther awakes to find Mr. Hopp missing, and her nightmare seeming to fuse with the real world as she roams the orphanage to find the same 6 symbols seen in her nightmare in the opening sequence. A note explains that these symbols are medallion originating from ancient times as a Pharaoh would wear these as a necklace now known as The Six, although the medallions seemed to have disappeared after 1897. Esther later discovers a fire spreading through the orphanage, and after putting it out, a demonic creature attacks Esther as she sees a similar flash of the medallions and a bunny in front of a fire before screaming and waking up. Finding a note after this dream explains that the creature Esther saw is known as The Entity, to which is like a representation of Satan himself, casted down from Heaven after wrongdoings and corruption. The Entity now haunts the orphanage, but mainly targets Esther, and Esther later discovers that her friends Molly and Issac have eventually disappeared, being attacked by The Entity while she is awake as well. What also happens as Esther searches for her friends is that she runs into the newest orphan that arrived recently named Dee, who happens to talk to Esther about whispering and something roaming the hall, insisting that Esther should be aware of this. Esther is later told to go back to bed by the matrons, who think Molly and Issac are being naughty and are hiding somewhere. In Esther’s next dream, she must place 4 urns on pedestals, almost as if she is preparing for a placement for The Entity’s souls. Esther is then placed in a looping corridor where the center painting describes the following story with only pictures and a few words- Long ago in Pagan Times (Era of the Belief of Witches, to which would be burned as punishment if caught), a little girl lived in an orphanage with a matron as her caregiver. Peace goes on between the two until the girl had roamed out to the forest, meeting The Entity. The Entity offers the girl a necklace with the 6 Medallions, giving the child abnormal abilities capable of killing people, corrupting her soul and being under possession of The Entity. The matron finds out about the girl venturing off unattended, and is scolded for her actions-Esther then sees the same matron being torn apart by the girl-. When authorities find out and question the girl seemingly about why she killed the matron, the girl’s responds with “She deserved it.. Thus, the girl is put on stake and is burned alive, words following the final picture of this story with “It Hurts”-Following along, messages on the walls guide Esther to the 3 toys she and her friends claimed, and is told to “Give Yourself To Us”. 3 normal dolls are seen on another painting, put into creation before turning black, seeming to be taken over by The Entity. Esther finally awakens to hearing her friends cry out for help as they are trapped in a locked room, and when opening this room, see that Molly and Issac have been possessed by The Entity. Ms. Beverley, the one who is in charge of the matrons, finds Esther and takes her to the basement, locking her up before getting killed by Mr. Hopp. As Esther escapes the basement, she finds her friends in the hands of the toys they claimed-Molly with Ms. Bo, and Issac with Mr. Stripes, meaning she’s left for Mr. Hopp to be binding by. After escaping to be back above, Esther finds Dee upstairs as Dee tells Esther she ‘can make the evil roaming the halls go away and get everyone back’ with a ritual. When completing this ritual, Dee reveals herself as the girl from the story all those years ago, the one who persuaded Esther to follow along with the whispering, the one who donated the toys for the other kids to attach themselves too, and the one who allowed The Entity full access to the mortal realm again through the ritual. When Esther fights back against Dee, she finds herself in the house of her future granddaughter, Ruby, somehow time traveling to 2019 where nothing in the house she is in has happened yet. Finding a note in the house, the note is a short poem written by Dee herself vaguely explaining that if she wants to finally rest in peace, she must have 3 other souls to be claimed by The Entity and his minions before she can be set free from The Entity’s grasp. Esther follows the soul of Dee before she is told and then transported to a burning hallway, being told that she can “feel your pain, your sadness, your torment”, saying that she knows Esther has had a rough start as since it is the 1900’s, where WWII occurred, she must’ve lost her parents like many others and must now live through the painful memory. In the True Ending, Esther throughout the game has collected all 6 of the Medallions, and when returning to the manor, she is brought down to the Underworld. Upon wearing the necklace still, the medallions grant Esther holy powers and she isn’t possessed by the Entity, since her will power is much more stronger than Dee’s ever was all back then. As Esther makes her way through the Underworld, finds everyone from the orphanage, and fights back against the Entity, Esther frees everyone with her new powers, restoring peace for many years…until old age hits. Leading up to Ruby, Esther’s mind becomes weaker until she does not have enough strength to fight back against The Entity’s power, being under possession of it. The recordings left by Ruby’s father, David, explain how Esther slowly acted strange until the downfall of her death, for Esther first stopped taking care of herself, and then stared at the wall as if The Entity was talking to her straight from the Underworld. Since Esther kept Mr. Hopp, presumably to ensure the toy didn’t fall into the wrong hands, The Entity used Esther to gift Ruby the toy so that Mr. Hopp can be given a new host. To explain what was going on at 26:04 , this was there due to the True Ending. In the True Ending, Ruby goes back to the kitchen to obtain oil and shoots down the plant by the mirror next to her parents room to find a lighter, thus begins a fire in the house with the pile of paper-this also explains why one of the achievements are called “BURN, BABY, BURN: Get the Firestarter Ending.”-to which when Ruby finally escapes the house, the house is left to completely burn everything, putting an end to Mr. Hopp all until the 3rd Game. Additional Info: The reason why in your old video about the 1st Game presents a gun in the safe is because in the early version of the original game, David and Jenna had felt threatened when they were hearing footsteps at night from someone, thus David stored a gun in the safe for protection. This version was then changed to have Ruby use a slingshot to defend against Mr. Hopp after receiving him to make it less violent, while also changing the scene where Ruby finds out her parents are missing by removing the blood from the bed, leaving the claw mark behind. Also in the kitchen where the Calendar is, the date reads “April 18, 2019”. This is relevant as in the tapes, David should have mentioned when he talks about the safe that the passcode was the date of his and Jenna’s anniversary, thus being ‘1804’ (18th of the 4th Month). Way to Get Secrets (From my memory of the original game): • To obtain the achievement “YOU’LL FLOAT TOO.”, you have to find the toy that resembles a clown at a corner in the wall that doesn’t make you in grave danger as you are finding tapes, since this is a reference to the movie ‘It’. Hit it 8 times then go to the basement all the way down. • To obtain the achievement “Watchmen”, as you’re looking for tapes, once you collect the 3rd Tape/Tape III, head back to the attic/upstairs all the way to a door. You’ll find something..*interesting* in there…IF they kept up with the original secrets which it seems like they did so. • To obtain the achievement “HUGE GUTS”, as you look for tapes, interact with the soldier (I think) toy right by the entrance door (the one Ruby uses to escape the house). • To obtain the achievement “THE BITE”, insert the code in the safe-actually, here’s a clue: Afton Reference of a Ruined Birthday Party. Need I say more? • To obtain the achievement “WHO’S THAT?”, when looking for tapes, once you collect the 4th Tape/Tape IV, head back to Ruby’s room. You’ll find out why that’s the name of this achievement through her bedroom window.
i do prefer the pixelated game but the new cutscenes do look better. there’s just something about pixelated games that makes them way more creepy and interesting.
I really did like this but I still think the old one is better. I like the graphics and animations of the new one but it does not match the horror of the original Mr hopp. Still enjoyed it tho

There is a few things I remember about this wonderful horror game: Ruby is the girl who ur playing as.. And ester is her grandmother, In the second game (old ver) We get to play as Esther, around Ruby's age.. And how she got cursed by Mr. Hopps or An entity within Mr. Hopps and It passed down To ruby 🙂/ idk why but ester gave Ruby the cursed entity of Mr.hopps
So, somewhere from the game's release to 2021, they updated the original game. The gun was replaced with the slingshot, the danger level was changed to have those 3 dots, and the icons next to that and the stamina were changed to the eye and lightning bolt. Also, that patch of papers was to light the house on fire like you could in the original game (Grab whatever it is under the kitchen sink I think before the 4th tape and then start the fire before escaping. It gives you a different ending.)
Fun fact: The art used in the thumbnail (Which is also the Steam banner) was created by Dragoness Animations! She was commissioned by the developer because they liked her art style :)

There is a few things I remember about this wonderful horror game: Ruby is the girl who ur playing as.. And ester is her grandmother, In the second game (old ver) We get to play as Esther, around Ruby's age.. And how she got cursed by Mr. Hopps or An entity within Mr. Hopps and It passed down To ruby 🙂/ idk why but ester gave Ruby the cursed entity of Mr.hopps
Esther gave Ruby the toy while possessed - she didn't have control, unfortunately.

I was just in the process of making a Mr. Hopp’s playhouse video and I found this😸
So, somewhere from the game's release to 2021, they updated the original game. The gun was replaced with the slingshot, the danger level was changed to have those 3 dots, and the icons next to that and the stamina were changed to the eye and lightning bolt. Also, that patch of papers was to light the house on fire like you could in the original game (Grab whatever it is under the kitchen sink I think before the 4th tape and then start the fire before escaping. It gives you a different ending.)
