Objection! The bees in Bee Movie clearly have no concept of currency. Since their entire economy is based around the production and consumption of honey, honey would be the only viable compensation they could receive.
Then they shouldn’t have sued under U.S law. Damages in a court are determined by the court and the law. Plaintiffs don’t get to decide what they will receive for compensation. I’m sure that’s an argument the bees could make, but it would probably be ignored due to the fact that they’ve already agreed to one of the United States’ civil institutions: the courts.
Well the bees are attempted top prove that the honey was stolen from them. Wouldn't a court seize stolen property? If me and a buddy went to small claims court and I said he stole my car, and he said he paid for half, but I was able to prove we never agreed to that and he never paid me, the court would demand he relinquish the car to me. The car being edible should have no bearing on that.
Search for pollen, collecting, conversion into honey. Expansion on the hive. Breeding of hive. Also searching for water and new hives as necessary if they need to swarm (relocate). So no honey isn’t the only thing. They also can consume other sucrose sources, if needing to supplement a hive, water with granulated sugar will help. Also depends on the type of bees, you’re just assuming one type, European honey bees. There’s differences, from the tiny sweat bee to big fat bumblebees, similarly named mason bees and carpenter bees, so on.
Daniel Feldsien that’s true, but then Barry would have to file under the criminal code stating that the honey was stolen and it would have to be in criminal court. On top of that, taking bees honey wasn’t illegal at the time it was taken, so this whole case is setting a new precedent. You can’t get tried with a crime retroactively so there is no way the bees would be able to get the honey back.
You should definitely do the first incredibles movie, it has a court room scene that has a pretty interesting argument about someone being saved that didn’t want to be and getting injured while being saved
@@tricksfollies9549 You can actually get in trouble for saving someone who doesn’t want help, or at least that’s what they taught us in my first aid class. The person has to either give you permission or be unable to give you permission (like passed out) before you can help them
@@Lelmao33 That applies when you have their permission to help them or their implied permission (if they’re unconscious). The Bee dies after he stings you because basically that area full of their organs just ripped in two. As for endangerment, that actually has nothing to do with their near extinction. It's because people find Beehives in their area and destroys them, the air pollution we produce poisoning them and the urban landscape removing more and more flowers for them to use. The Bee knows stinging you kills it, so it avoids it until you provoke them enough, unless it's a hostile breed. Bumblebees for example are pretty harmless, he may check you out but he's harmless for the most part, just keep a distance from his hive, and the Hive can repopulate the lost numbers...if you let them.
OBJECTION! At 15:38, you say that the bees have provided no evidence, despite being given ample time to, and the case could be thrown out. HOWEVER, the bees HAVE already kind of provided evidence simply by filling a lawsuit and speaking in court. This proves that they are sentient and should not bee considered chattel, which is evidence supporting the plaintiff bees.
11:40 objection! The bees have no way of recieving said financial compensation, as none of them are registered citizens, and have no banking, profiling, or other ways of keeping money

The most damning argument against this lawsuit is that bees actually consent If the bees are not happy with the keeper or hive (I.E bad treatment) they can just straight up leave, also known as DIRECTLY against Barry’s claim
It's almost like Barry B. Benson was granted military power to enforce a global monopoly over honey, and anything related to bees. Kind of terrifying when you think about it.
James McCormick 3) most smokers nowadays are harmless to bees, the way it works is that the smoke makes the bees unable to communicate (because of the way they communicate look it up cause I can’t remember how they communicate) thus making them more calm and a lot less aggressive.

I'm not a lawyer, nor am I studying law. And yet I spend my time willingly watching these videos because they're fascinating. It's entertaining, I learn something, and grows my respect for real lawyers out there.
I'm a writer, and I find that this guy explains law in a way that is easy to digest. He makes it relatable. In the same way I might go to Doctor Mike in order to get some very basic help in the event I need to reference something from the medical world, I might come to Legal Eagle for advice on the legal world. No, that would not be my end-all research if I was really diving into it, but as neither are my field I don't tend to use them in my writing anyway. But knowing these references exist... I certainly will and to a small degree have used them.
I'm not a lawyer, but I love taking things apart and analyzing them. Although I'm not in law school, it's starting to feel like it because of all of these petitions floating around. I research exactly what it is they are REALLY saying and how right that is. It's also important to look at who. I had one asking for signatures for something that wasn't violating any laws. (But that's not what they said. ) Photoshop something on there that sells your cause, and very few people will do the research.
Observation: the defendant in the court case could have been allergic to bees. If so, he could have died shortly after being stung, meaning that the bee "lawyer" who stung him could've committed manslaughter.
Not possible. That can't be a real sting because male bees don't have stingers. Also, only wasps have straight stingers, bees have barbed stingers (hence they die when they sting, because the stingers get stuck and the bee is forced to tear its insides apart). So either Adam is a transsexual wasp or the stinger was fake.
My husband screamed when he heard you give it a "B" grade. He was still muttering when I said you had to do it for the pun! We'd love to see you do To Kill A Mockingbird.
So if the humans take it, by your logic they're stealing the bees' money and not giving them any goods or services in return. edit: wrong they're! sorry!

Not only did they mention the wrong court house name, but they probably sent to the wrong court house anyway.
“I was already a blood sucking parasite, all I needed was a briefcase” was probably the most accurate line in the entire movie! 😂

@Brian Griffin The Really Bad Impersonator Or they are too damn easy to step on

@OkActually if you are bitten, stung or otherwise have venom taken into your body then that's called envenomation. So no, it's still venom.
2) That evidence was in no way properly presented
What’s that supposed to mean
@@Jackferrett6781 the bee rushed at the door and then the florist pointed the smoking gun to the judge maybe?
Evidence has to be bagged and tagged and made sure to follow the correct chain of custody before it can be presented.
James McCormick 3) most smokers nowadays are harmless to bees, the way it works is that the smoke makes the bees unable to communicate (because of the way they communicate look it up cause I can’t remember how they communicate) thus making them more calm and a lot less aggressive.
True, very true.
17:07 So you’re just not gonna mention that A, the woman smacked the bee smoker on the juror’s desk and B, the -plaintiff- defence attorney drugged every bee in the courtroom? The latter seems like a pretty good case for assault.
