Hedgehogs are prickly and cute - it’s an odd combination that makes them rather endearing. Hedgehogs have long been associated with motherhood, magic, protection, healing, and hedgewitchery in all its many forms.
Hedgehogs have always been much loved creatures, whether in their original form snuffling around our gardens, in children's literature like Mrs Tiggywinkle or even in modern computer games with Sonic the Hedgehog.
