    • @Waters..
      @Waters.. 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

@@Nkosazana-yt1 they don’t. But if you wanna be something bigger than yourself, you have to change your community and surroundings to things that align with what you want. I’m ok with the people around me being happy with where they are but I want to meet new people who are also like minded and inspire me in some way. I want a healthy balance. I never said it was a requirement and quite frankly I don’t understand why people get offended by comments like mine and the original commenter…

Isi I feel like, and I hope this doesn’t come off wrong it’s coming from a positive place, but I think you two moving in, getting your own place, has given you time to live life a little. Gave you time to smell the roses. And sometimes as Virgo’s we go go goooo. And almost never give ourselves a break from being an engine. So I think you’ve just given yourself time to breathe & take in this new life you’ve stepping into. Which isn’t bad but I get what you mean by comparing yourself now compared to then but give yourself a break, you’ll definitely bounce back! This was probably just a woo-sah moment.

I’m happy to see this comment! Every time they make a quality convo vid I’m concerned that the value of rest is being overlooked. I don’t want us to let the system work us to the ground in the name of “growth”. It’s so important to rest, look around, reflect. We can’t let this system keep us on a treadmill bc it’ll never stop, no matter how far we get. You put it into words well

It's so important to know that being content with celebrating where you are today is not complacency, but more so gratitude. Sometimes as first world people, we get caught up in chasing the future while taking for granted the time we have today until someone leaves the earth. You both worked very hard in college, but what if how you view work & play has to evolve so you don't fee guilty about enjoying life in real time. Your summer relaxation was beyond deserved. I'm a 28 year old musical theatre performer and I own a voice lesson business, so I empathize with both of you. I started writing down what I am grateful for at the end of the week and writing down accomplishments I achieved to help me stay present. HIGHLY recommend this because i can tell you now, as someone who works with kids ....children want parents who are present emotionally and physically. Life of a high earner can cause so much stress and I teach many kids who often feel neglected because they see how consumed their parents are with work. It's a tough balance so I wish you both the best in that.

It makes me so happy to hear Josh not play into the whole “alpha male” thing. It’s just corny to see men competing to “belong” so to speak. Something magnetic about a man who just aims to be his best self. Walk his own path. That’s a man who really attracts people and opportunities. This whole fighting to belong to a group, is so childish and is not the least bit attractive at all. I don’t find how the whole male archetype thing is supposed to be magnetic !?! Much respect to you Josh!

I loved this conversation about alpha males vs betas etc. In my research Alpha male was made up by an author of a book in the 70's called, The Wolf: The Ecology and Behavior of an endangered species . He studied wolves in captivity and saw their aggressive behavior towards other males and the pack in an effort to dominate, creating an alpha. But later he studied wolves in the wild, in their natural state wolves don't need to dominate or be alpha. This author ended up taking back his original theory. The self proclaimed alpha male is the most emotionally immature, a toxic male. I love conversations like this! Thats what I call QUALITY! Love ya'll

The part about getting lazy after moving really resonated with me! I moved into my first apartment after the pandemic, and I could literally FEEL myself losing ambition and getting way too comfortable. I stopped going to the gym, laid around on the couch all day, and completely lost sight of the person/habits that got me to the success I was feeling in the first place. I'm just now picking myself back up and getting back on track. There's definitely a fine line between rest and laziness that I'm trying to figure out as someone graduating college soon! What's helped me is using my free time to plan things I actually enjoy (trying a yoga class, visiting a new place with a friend, etc.). That way I'm able to recharge and avoid burn out while still being productive and making memories vs. laying around and scrolling. Y'all videos are so inspiring and I love how they encourage so much reflection. Happy holidays to everyone!!!

I’m only about 25 minutes in, but I wanna say something while it’s on my heart. Isi (and Josh as well), I think it’s important to also give yourself grace when it comes to calling yourself “lazy” or being in that mindset over the last year & a half. These have been some of the most tumultuous times the world, this country, Black people, young adults, women, etc. have ever experienced. And I am a firm believer that God allowed this to happen to slow us a down a bit and draw us closer to Him and just remind us that He’s in control and that rest is important also! Like I was telling my wife (who also watches your videos) hustle is a beautiful thing, but stillness can be just as beautiful! And it doesn’t have to always take the form of a vacation. Sometimes that just means slowing the pace for a while. So I think the transition that you and I and many others have found ourselves in with picking up the pace again was a vital part of our growth! Also, congrats Josh on the great morning & trading session! Love y’all! Keep shining! 🥰✨

I turned 18 in March and growing up is so freaking hard. Watching ISI’s videos and your guys takes on a lot of different things has really opened my eyes to a new way of thinking. Since turning 18, (even a little before that) I’ve cut ties with so many people that weren’t good for my mental health and I’ve taken steps to focus on myself. I rarely put up with bullshit anymore. Someone does me wrong or moves differently, gone. And it’s honestly been so freeing. So thank you guys for teaching me a lot of things and new ways of thinking. I still have a LONG ways to go and I’m not even in my 20’s yet. But I love and respect y’all so much ❤️

But appreciate the content guuuyysss 💙💙💙exaggerating that because I get how much time and effort you guys put into content. So thanksss and love y’all💙🙂

Ugh YES! Same this summer just took it for myself right now I’m taking a gap year and plan on going to college fall 2022, I had an idea to plan on doing the process throughout the year, but honestly like I’m glad I took that summer since it was gonna be my last as a “kid” without responsibilities because I’m an adult and those summers are gonna be gone. I learned a lot but most of all that I took away was how to enjoy seasons because usually I felt like I’ve been just passing by in life, existing but not living, so yea it really gave me a perspective to be fully present and or try to actively be fully present.

I loved everything except when isi said anyone who is satisfied with where they are should stay away from her…I understand wanting to elevate, but elevation is not only a monetary concept. Also it’s good to be content and satisfied at every stage In your life, whilst desiring more. The bible says rejoice even in adversity. We shouldn’t be on a chase for money, nothing wrong with being rich but it’s the mindset. It seems like perhaps money and success has become an idol for the two of you. Look at your hearts more instead of this “higher self” humble ourselves and do all for the glory of God. Love one another, work hard but don’t make idols. Appreciate where you are now and allow yourself to rest in it. Chasing anything other than God and making that your life will always leave you feeling empty and running running running. Store your treasures up higher. The the highest in God. Not ourselves.

Hey guys! I absolutely love your videos I’ve been a fan for the past 4 years 😭 I found isi’s channel when I first started my hair journey and I’m so proud of how far you both have come. I’ve been watching this amazing podcast on TH-cam called "Nice and Neat" hosted by 2 former athletes and a businessman. I must say the topics are truly amazing and I would love to see a reaction video from you and Josh of one of their videos

It gives me hope. Isi (and Josh) I know you’ll like a podcast called To My Sisters on Spotify and TH-cam, by two young black British women. They touch on a lot of insightful topics I know you’ll appreciate. God bless you two even more!

I can agree with Josh when it comes to the way our brain functions, because I too have waves of thoughts which trigger my anxiety and make me feel like I'm not doing enough. It could be an Aquarius thing who knows. I really enjoyed this talk it all resonated with what I'm going through and trying to be a better person overall so that I may be a blessing unto others.

And I’ve been doing terrible as well. Staying disciplined is so hard , but when I think about it as a job, it gets easier.

I can relate to Isi a lot!! And I honestly can say that my previous partners have been like josh, a big friend group and I got a handful of homies haha
At 34:31 I definitely agree that you have to ask yourself the difficult honest questions. But I do appreciate that you changed your language from saying "you have to be hard on yourself" to "you have to be willing to be firm and fair" because being "hard" on yourself could potentially do more damage than good. Some people for some parts of their life may thrive on that type of harsh self-talk but it may not always be motivated, then what? Then negative self-talk kicks in and whatever childhood traumas can be triggered and now you find yourself in a fear mode of a plethora of different behaviors. The biggest example I can mention is analysis paralysis. All in all, I know that you have to allow yourself to go through the ebbs and flows of life with grace. When you are at a turning point or pivotal age or just a crossroads in life you are going to have those "low" "lazy" moments when you need to give your body and spirit time to rest to gear up for the next leap in life. 27 is a game-changer but 30 is even more so. You are in your Saturn return years right now and these are the most pivotal for most because this is when you figure out what everything you have done up until this moment in time has prepared you for. And that's for anyone. Spirit has a very special way of moving us even when we didn't realize we were being moved. However unconscious you are about your life it doesn't matter. The seeds you have been sewing since about 21 will show you what your next chapter in life will reflect. Some people move forward and some people have realizations of adjustments and amendments. But that's okay too.

ISI is so relatable you sound just like me. It’s crazy I literally was just saying this , I LOVE GROWTH and I thrive being around people who have that mindset to do the same thing!!! I value friendships so much and I enjoy pouring into the people I love, come across etc… and I yearn for that same kind of effort. I love seeing people thrive and enjoy being a part of peoples journey it’s crazy literally everything ISI said resonates with me on every level. ❤️
And when it comes to deep conversation I’m a sucker for them. I can’t entertain anything that’s not that. Sometimes my friends would call me to deep or I’m thinking about something tooooo deep. It’s hard to converse with people sometimes because surface level convos does nothing for me.
