It is used to defend against hyper ix (hypersin but with ix trait)

@@LuNEJuNEnot mainly just that, its used with overheat to both counter hyperix and stuff BUT the other way its used if not hyperIX is whenever you get fully setup, you can finish use more sp missions and not lose due to not being able to sac your forge once you get max, top players use it for both reasons and work pretty well
