I see an incredibly gifted coach. Thanks for sharing your knowledge

As a beginner, I get so confused as to exactly when to paddle and when to Oreo

  • @anguscameron561

Game changer for me was to arch my back and actually stop paddling when the wave is a metre away, the wave picks you up then pop up

Another great clip with awesome tips. Watched this last night and put it to use today. Combining arching, focusing on gliding in and slowing down, and eyes down the line are game changers. Really enjoy all the content, keep it up. 🤙

In big waves you have to look the Oreo in the eye. Then it's all slow and easy.

This is so revolutionary to me. Most advice websites and schools etc are telling you to paddle faster and stronger, try and get in early etc. Crap advice especially for female surfers, do not have the upper body strength to just paddle harder and faster. Oreo biscuit has worked wonders for me. I have a much more natural feel for my shortboard and big(get) waves.. Thank you Ombe.

Slow down is the key, wait till you feel your board start gliding then it's time to pop up.

Great advice, esp since you keep it simple!

Ant honestly it's something we should all learn from 💯😌🙏🏼

I recently started making more waves than missing. Been trying to implement what you said about looking down line and not over paddling. Rather than paddle hard I angle and get ready for tail to lift then zip in. Haven’t had a chance to try in overhead surf yet. I was really struggling getting hung up the last time it was overhead at my beach

Id like to hear a bit more about pushing the tail down to help get on the wave.
