    Thank you for the valve setting procedure. I am restoring a 1930 22-36 and I just found out that the intake valve spring on #1 I can push with my hand. I got a replacement spring coming.

    Good day If I was younger , maybe I would try it. I was watching & noticed something in exhaust pipe, laugh & knew right away about threads in exhaust manifold. We had SW-6 and with tall muffler hitting things, wore threads out. You said that was a 400, I didn't get to see much but I thought fenders looked different. Is it yours , or working on someone. else? How"s super m doing? How far are you from Dorchester? Thanks

      Hi Don. It is a W-400 for a customer. Needs a tuneup, distributor needs bushings, water pump, and a new manifold pipe.. The old one was pretty rotten. I used the Super MTA to push it in the shop.. I am about an hour and 15 minutes from Dorchester as far as I know. I've driven by, but never stopped.

    I am currently working on a 656 D282 and got the head redone with all new valves/springs/etc, my issue is I started with piston 1 at TDC then adjusted 1,2,3,5,7,9 as the box says. THEN I turned the engine 360 degrees to do 4,6,8,10,11,12 but something doesn’t seem right. It seems like they are way off thread wish on the rocker assembly compared to the first group. Does that make sense?

      @@kentonward330 are you sure it was #1 TDC? That you started at? #6 should have been rocking at that point.

      @@FarmallDoctor I had the head off the tractor and had piston 1 all the way up before putting new gasket down and head.

      @@kentonward330 1 and 6 move in the same position, you were likely on #6 TDC. Try my method this time, then you can check again with the factory method if you like. Either way is acceptable.

      @@FarmallDoctor even though I had #1 cylinder at the top of its stroke when putting the head on?
      Also #1 valve is the intake right, then #2 is the exhaust? And so on… #3 is intake, #4 exhaust?

      @FarmallDoctor  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kentonward330 yes. 1 and 6 are both at the top at the same time. As are 2 and 5 together, 3 and 4 together. Being 4 stroke, you could have been set for 1 or 6. It just depends where the cam is.
