That's Jeffrey Combs who also voice Scarecrow in The New Batman Adventures (1998-1999). He also voiced Braniac in Injustice 2 and also was in the 4400, Star Trek Deep Space Nine, Gotham and played a mob boss in The Flash TV series of the 90's starring John Wesley Shipp.
He is on the supergirl tv show, and I'm pretty sure he a leader of his own justice league team, (not sure if that the case anymore), and he's also set to appear in young justice season 3
I actually liked Hawk Girl when I used to watch the Justice League and the Unlimited sequel when she was one of the original first seven members of team
I wouldn't say he's underrated, he had his own show and was even a key character in young justice season 2, and is set to appear in young young season 3, compared to the other heroes on this list, he's not nearly as underrated as they are. I'm honestly surprised he made the list
As a Creeper fan, that statement is not 100% false but not 100% true either. It only scratches the surface of how interesting Creeper can be. It's a good descriptor for the character if you are trying to get someone to check him out. "Hey do you like Joker? Well what if I told you that there was a superhero who was basically just like him, but good?" It's calling Captain Marvel (yes that's his name the Wizard is named Shazam, but that's another debate for another time) a magical Superman. It's a statement that is not 100% true or false and is best used when trying to compare the characters and introduce people to them
Always been a big fan of The Creeper. I tell folks he's kind of like the Joker with a little Captain America thrown in, (the origin) and a dash of Spidey's wit. Would love to see him pop up it the Arrowverse.
Just bought the Justice League Unlimited Blu-Ray and I still can’t believe how good of a show that was. It really highlights the span of the Justice League and even has a few tear-jerkers!
Aron The Terminator I personally enjoyed the Justice League movie! It was dumb, sure, but to me it was dumb fun. Just felt like a cartoon episode but with some live action!
Bodoque 31 How in the name of love, was their NO representation of M.H. G.L or Hawkgirl (my favorite as well) in the life action portrayal this year!? A FAR CRY from the sterling, riveting, enthralling, inspiring standard that is the Justice League series!🙌v
Me too. She was my favorite when I watched Justice League and Justice League unlimited as a kid. She really badass and sassy. I love her ! I'm still sad that she wasn't in the movie !
Dennis Farina's Ted Grant in Justice League Unlimited was amazing. Allison Mack's Powergirl in Public Enemies was integral. Ohed Fehr's Doctor Fate in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited was a great addition.
Raghu Seetharaman Kudos for knowing the voices behind the characters...RIP Dennis Farina, the Chicago cop turned actor who called himself "the luckiest guy I know."
I am impressed by the amazing cast Bruce Timm, Andrea Romano have gotten for the DCAU. They cared about the quality of storytelling and getting the right actors for the characters.
Raghu Seetharaman Something also reflected in the quality of animation and the writing as well. Superman The Animated Series is my second favorite interpretation of the Big Blue Boy Scout after Smallville because of all this.
+Jonathan Haney +Raghu Seetharaman I am often impressed that Andrea Romano not only booked top-level actors, but matched the voices to the characters so well. Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill, Oded Fehr, Jeffrey Combs, and Michael Rosenbaum were perfect matches for Batman, Joker, Doctor Fate, The Question, and Wally West/Flash. Not to mention Dennis Farina, Robert Picardo, CCH Pounder, and... well, almost everyone you mentioned above. I welcomed the return of Rene Auberjonois who did voices in the 1970s and 80s for the Superfriends. Also worth noting, is that Romano did her best to have all actors present for recording an episode, as opposed to splicing together recordings of individual actors from separate sessions. That way, it sounded like normal conversation, making the story that much more enjoyable.
Where's John Constantine? He only had a great failed tv show and an unfaithful movie adaptation in comparison to swamp thing that for some reason gained a spike in popularity in the last 5 years that granted him a spot on the Injustice 2 game.
Paralyzed Horse He is also been a guest star on both Arrow and He’s currently in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. There’s even talk of him joining the Legends for a while and becoming a regular but that’s not been confirmed yet. He also has his own monthly title again.
Paralyzed Horse Constantine had the entire Hellblazer comic back in the day, people know him from that and justice league dark and he's getting an animated series soon
One of the reasons I loved the Justice League Unlimited cartoon series was how it gave a good portion of the characters on this list pretty interesting story lines, especially The Question.
He is not underrated. He has crossovers with such superheroes as Judge Dredd, Mask, Authority, Wolverine and Avengers. He even became Stan lee's favorite DC character
Which question? Dont sit here and tell me the JLU question, because that is NOT the question, at all. He acts nothing like him, other than the way he looks.
Blaze Allen I learned that he was in the DC universe when I saw The Return of Swamp Thing in the theater, where there was artwork depicting him atop Arkham Asylum. How could I tell it was Arkham? Besides the name, there was the Joker behind a barred window.
Mike Rod Let's say that the studios agree with you. Who would be a good fit for the role? I can easily ask the same thing for his two biggest enemies, Hotstreak and Ebon.
Seriously Plastic-Man is so underrated that you even forgot to put him on a list of underrated superheroes! He’s awesome, he’s a very early hero, who is a goofball and has very creative powers. He’s backstory is awesome, starting out as a Henchman. Plus it’s been stated by Batman that Plastic-Man is invulnerable and the 3rd most powerful person on the planet only behind Superman and Martian Manhunter.
He was way earlier than Mr Fantastic, so Mr Fantastic is Marvels Plastic Man but a nerd. And yeah He was also thought to be a possible counter to Superman by Batman.
Alfred Pennyworth for putting up with a spoilt rich emotionally damaged orphan who dresses up like a flying rodent and puts psychopaths in jail only for them to get away multiple times and puts other orphans through the same thing
Totally agree with you. Batman is the most over rated, overhyped "super" out there. He's more concerned that his favorite psychopath terrorist (love interest?) is arrested with minimal bruising than in justice for his tens (hundreds?) of thousands of victims. It's tragic that DC has to make every other hero and villain into brainless idiots just to make Batwimp look good. As for his tragic beginning, get the fuck over it you spoilt mega rich kid Isn't his recruitment of all those Robins, child abuse, or at least child endangerment?

I am glad they are making an official movie, but I am honestly so bummed they chose Jaden Smith for the role. Honestly, I would have much preferred someone else for the role of Virgil. Or at least an unknown actor. Ugh, they better do it right!

Fantastic list. Thank you! This list mirrors my personal favorite DC characters of all time. I try to hype these to anyone who will listen. These characters didn't have the normal clichés other mainline DC characters had and so, they are generally more interesting with lots of depth with unique and amazing stories.
I also love the question such an underrated and cool character, and Red Arrow is also such a cool and badass character, Im so glad that young justice let him shine and show how awesome he is!!

Hey Bendy I have a question for you! Do you like Jinx from Teen Titans? I think you both have some things in common. You both dress in black and pink or purple most of the time. Her hairstyle is kind of shaped like you're horns. We're confused as to weather both of you are good or evil. You two always have that mischievous, sinister, but innocent look on you're faces and in you're eyes. *"And you're both Gruesomely Adorable!"* Even though her Heart belongs me, Cyborg, Flash, and Robin, I wouldn't mind seeing you two crossover through Fanfiction or Deviantart! 10 Underrated DC Villains Off The Top Of My Head Clayface Riddler Black Adam Braniac Mad Hatter Scarecrow Deathstroke Hush Man Bat Solomon Grundi Black Manta There Are Alot More I Just Didn't Feel Like Putting On Here
I’m really glad to see him on here but it would’ve been really funny to put Booster Gold in the honorable mentions or not even mention him. That would’ve fit his character so well.
Love, love, love this list, even the honorable mentions. I've had the pleasure of stories from everyone on it and would love for them to find their way to the general public's consciousness.
Possible list for Underrated DC Characters: 10. Enemy Ace 9. The Unknown Soldier 8 Deadman 7.Mister Miracle 6. The Demon 5. Dr. Fate 4.The Spectre 3.The Huntress 2. Zatanna 1. The Phantom Stranger Honorary mentions : Wildcat, The Atomic Knights, Batman Beyond, and the Doom Patrol!
The world needs a Question series or movie. But a full Question with all his theories and "craziness". I really love the character and it definitely should get a spot.
I've personally loved most of these characters more than the main characters. Favorites include The Guestion, Doctor Fate, Booster Gold, and John Constantine.
1:56 Superman : You're absolutely sure this is gonna work? Hiro: Does Power Girl have big ... Batman :Just feed ed the numbers kid, the best part of the movie and the comic
One of my good & dearest friends is a cosplayer who goes by AZ Powergirl. And I've seen a lot of people cosplaying as most of these characters. And I've met the voice of Static who wished me "Happy Birthday" in that voice.
Swamp Thing is only one of two heroes who Batman's contingency plan for going rogue is "Pray to god it never happens." the only other one in that category is Eel O'Brian aka Plastic Man.
Static Shock needs a movie. Not just that he faces having strange powers he himself doesn’t completely understand and has to fight against insanely strong villains, but static has to also face the struggles of being black and living an urban inner city community. It could hit a lot of points movies like Mence to Society or Get Out got but also do it through the fantastical view of being a superhero
i think Huntress is a very underrated character. i find her backstory and motivation so interesting and i wish we’d see more of her. i know she was in a couple episodes of Arrow but she really should’ve been a regular! DC as a whole is underrated tho
Great list... as a LONG time comic reader, very familiar with them all. Personal favorites, Wildcat and the Question. Wildcat trained Batman, Catwoman, Black Canary, etc... how freakin' cool is that ?! Only thing i would've changed? Zatanna in place of Dr. Fate.. maybe even added Johnny or Jakeem Thunder in honorable mention. Just my opinion...
How about Captain Comet? You’ve probably never heard of him. One of comics books earliest ever mutant characters, he came out more than a decade before the X-Men. With an origin story somewhat similar to Superman, he’s fought evil both on Earth and across the universe. I believe he was a member of both the Justice League and the Legion of Super Heroes. His powers include superhuman strength and durability, telepathy, telekinesis (which he can use to fly), psychic energy blasts, and even teleportation. He also has a genius level intellect. And if I remember right he both fought and beat Lobo in a fight and has a one night stand with Starfire.
The Question is such a freaking Underrated character.
Late comment but you mean *such, right?
I love the Question!
The Question is amazing
Agent Donut007 I know right
The Fez Dragon when need a movie where riddler has kidnapped Batman and the question takes him down.
Justice League Unlimited showcased most of these characters and the guest stars that voiced the characters embodied their roles perfectly.
Yup but most dont have the recognition in the mainstream audience like DCTV
That's Jeffrey Combs who also voice Scarecrow in The New Batman Adventures (1998-1999). He also voiced Braniac in Injustice 2 and also was in the 4400, Star Trek Deep Space Nine, Gotham and played a mob boss in The Flash TV series of the 90's starring John Wesley Shipp.
He kind of reminded me of Doctor McCoy.
Raghu Seetharaman u rite u rite
Injustice did the same with some of these
What about Martian Manhunter? Considering DC doesn't use him for anything nowadays.
most people who are aware of him rate him though
Cyber00 he is on the super girl tv show
He is on the supergirl tv show, and I'm pretty sure he a leader of his own justice league team, (not sure if that the case anymore), and he's also set to appear in young justice season 3
He's apart of the Pre52 Core 7 Justice League so he's well recognized
Cyber00 that’s the reason I hate cyborg
Plastic Man should've made this list.
His villain Carrot Man should have been on this list
But the elongated man! We only get one stretchy person per company right?
Jayden Brown Lol no
@@noahjones3955 I mean DC also has both vixen and animal man, who have the exact same powers
He's so underrated he didn't even make the list
Static Shock and Question! Hands down
Definitely The Question
Definitely. I'd watch the hell out of a series following Question and the other street-level heroes.
Dante The Demon Slayer How? Swamp thing is in Injustice 2 for lords sake
It's just static. Static shock was just the title of his cartoon
Hopefully Static makes an appearance on the CW show about Black Lightning.
I actually liked Hawk Girl when I used to watch the Justice League and the Unlimited sequel when she was one of the original first seven members of team
She took Aquaman’s spot
Static is so underrated. Im glad we had his show back in the day.
Its not enough. He deserves better.
I wouldn't say he's underrated, he had his own show and was even a key character in young justice season 2, and is set to appear in young young season 3, compared to the other heroes on this list, he's not nearly as underrated as they are. I'm honestly surprised he made the list
I always loved Static because of that cartoon.
steven alvarez Static is Miles Stone comics,😒
Static in Justice league was great
We are no longer worthy of the presence of Static
The creeper. Hes the "good"version of joker and can takr looney tunes level pf punishment.
As a Creeper fan, that statement is not 100% false but not 100% true either. It only scratches the surface of how interesting Creeper can be. Should really start off with the original JL cartoon and then JLU. You'll see the big difference.

I’m really glad to see him on here but it would’ve been really funny to put Booster Gold in the honorable mentions or not even mention him. That would’ve fit his character so well.
Enchantress? Huntress? Black Lightning?
Enchantress 😍😍😍
Well this list is pretty good. Just might’ve made a better top 20
I was expecting Aquaman to be featured on the #1 spot, but I actually found Swamp Thing to be such a cool character ever since I was a kid. :D
Jim Corrigan..... OMG DOES THAT MEAN SPECTER WAS GONNA BE IN THE CONSTANTINE SHOW!? Now I'm even MORE sad that was canceled!
He's actually on an episode!
And a psychic lady had a vision of him with green mist surrounding him.
Love, love, love this list, even the honorable mentions. I've had the pleasure of stories from everyone on it and would love for them to find their way to the general public's consciousness.
Johnathon Haney Yeah I was so happy when the first thing I saw was the Spectre, he's one of my favourite DC characters of all time.
What about Fire and Ice?
Thee jorkr
The symbol on Hawkmans chest at 6:46 looks like the Eye of Thundera logo from Thundercats.
The truly most underrated characters are the Wonder Twins
Man the cowboy version of vigilante was the best imo. Really wish they would bring that version of him back
Possible list for Underrated DC Characters:
10. Enemy Ace
9. The Unknown Soldier
8 Deadman
7.Mister Miracle
6. The Demon
5. Dr. Fate
4.The Spectre
3.The Huntress
2. Zatanna
1. The Phantom Stranger
Honorary mentions : Wildcat, The Atomic Knights, Batman Beyond, and the Doom Patrol!
Great List,You Should Add Cyborg,Hes Kinda Underrated:)
The world needs a Question series or movie. But a full Question with all his theories and "craziness". I really love the character and it definitely should get a spot.
At least Aquaman and Shazam aren't included on this list but me and true fans of DC Comics have been knowing all of these characters for many years
The Question is awesome. Booster Gold is honestly one of my favourite super heroes. One I'd like to see more of though is Red Tornado.
DC LORE > MARVEL
ZECTCustomUnit Marvel fans like you only seem to care about the movies. Fitting because marvel comics and animation are garbage compared to DC.
Gabe Stein dc comics are way better than most marvel comics
@@pigeonboy7696 I'm a marvel fan and I care about the comics and a certain avengers earth's mightiest Heroes animated series.
Dr Fate,Question and Zatanna are some of my favorites...always said DC is sitting on some great characters for the live features
Put some respect on Constantine
He isn't exactly underated. He has his movie and tv series
I've personally loved most of these characters more than the main characters. Favorites include The Guestion, Doctor Fate, Booster Gold, and John Constantine.
Do most underrated marvel characters
They already did that
anybody remember watching "swamp thing" on tv as a child ? great memories :)
Powergirl, The Question and Doctor Fate are so good characters we know them WM
Add one of my favorites: The Elongated Man!
The Spectre is amazing
Good choices. I'd add Deadman, Martian Manhunter, Sandman, and Red Tornado to your list too.
blue beetle
Monid x He’s missing from the list! Surely more underrated than some of the ones that made the list
Blue Beetle is not that underrated, he just hasn’t been in Live action that much and he really needs a solo film.
1:56 Superman : You're absolutely sure this is gonna work? Hiro: Does Power Girl have big ... Batman :Just feed ed the numbers kid, the best part of the movie and the comic
I love power girl ^www^
One of my good & dearest friends is a cosplayer who goes by AZ Powergirl. And I've seen a lot of people cosplaying as most of these characters. And I've met the voice of Static who wished me "Happy Birthday" in that voice.
Where's Jonah hex he should be here !?!?
Swamp Thing is only one of two heroes who Batman's contingency plan for going rogue is "Pray to god it never happens." the only other one in that category is Eel O'Brian aka Plastic Man.
Yeah! My boy Booster Gold!!! 😎🌟
Yes! Finally Static Shock is mentioned!
Mister Miracle and big Barda being left off this list shows how underrated they are
Jelani Wood I was thinking the exact same thing.
Lilith clay (omen) is an underrated character as well.
Silver Banshee is the most underrated villain
Static Shock needs a movie. Not just that he faces having strange powers he himself doesn’t completely understand and has to fight against insanely strong villains, but static has to also face the struggles of being black and living an urban inner city community. It could hit a lot of points movies like Mence to Society or Get Out got but also do it through the fantastical view of being a superhero
Static isn't underrated but ok
Ramz yes he is
How is he not under rated
he was going to appear in Injustice 2 but it didn't happen
Actually, he is.
Yeah DC really disrespect Static
i think Huntress is a very underrated character. i find her backstory and motivation so interesting and i wish we’d see more of her. i know she was in a couple episodes of Arrow but she really should’ve been a regular! DC as a whole is underrated tho
Nightwing
nightwing is definitely not underrated
Great list... as a LONG time comic reader, very familiar with them all. Personal favorites, Wildcat and the Question. Wildcat trained Batman, Catwoman, Black Canary, etc... how freakin' cool is that ?! Only thing i would've changed? Zatanna in place of Dr. Fate.. maybe even added Johnny or Jakeem Thunder in honorable mention. Just my opinion...
Grey ghost? John j'onzz
Gray Ghast.
✊Wildcat will never be forgotten!
Captain Marvel better be #1 he's everything Superman should be.
*shazam
Red Son Superman it should've been Captain Marvel as #1
A kid that transforms into an adult?
Shazam is the name of the Wizard who granted Billy Batson his powers. Calling Captain Marvel "Shazam", man you better get that outta heeeeeeeeeeeere!
Blaze Allen Nah Shazam sounds way better.
