I know it to make more drams. But I always wonder why Viserys didn't write down his wishes of Rhaenyra being "King"? Then there won't have been any question.
@@rosalindhbmaybe that would have made his wishes more clearer to the Lords of Westeros but I honestly doubt it would have prevented the war it was going to happen no matter which way you look at it or what side you support I agree with you to a certain extent I thought of the same thing myself too I thought of dozens of different scenarios analyzing the different outcomes and as fascinating as it is even I don't have a perfect answer which frustrates me because I really love this franchise

This is the second project where Matt Smith’s character is asked this kind of question. The other is his character in the crown. I’m wondering if he purposefully seeks projects that are about women embracing their power.
Daemon is a great warrior and experienced at war, I would imagine he would find it hard to follow someone who knows nothing of battle, when he could be leading the battle himself, he might love Rhaenyra but respecting her as a queen and leader is a different matter.
as the leading general he takes actions of his own,including things that Rheanyra might object to since she knows very little of war. He is also known not to be a faithful husband previously, so the two will argue
My main takeaways:
1. They've teased clips of Blood and Cheese multiple times, but at no point have we actually seen Blood's face
2. I knew he was cool but holy shit, Vermithor looks freaking BADASS
3. Baela has a more involved role compared to the books as she's clearly involved in Rook's Rest
4. Cregan looks different to how I imagined him but 100% has that Stark look down. Can't wait to see what he looks like in the final season years from now.
5. Aemond getting it on with Alys Rivers
6. The massive budget compared to Game of Thrones really shows in the improved scale and detail of the Red Keep
7. Sunfyre and Moondancer both look perfect as young quick dragons
8. Given how the books go, it's safe to say most of these trailer clips are all only from the first half of the second season

So, I'm only writing this, cause I'm fairly confident that won't include it in the show for time reasons, BUT I feel like I remember in the book there actually are a few Dornish factions who size the opportunity and invade into the Stormlands and, I think, the Reach too. ^_^ I mean, what a golden oportunity, right?

Daemon doesnt really have a reason to respect her as a queen, he loved his brother but he never respected him, and its the same with Rhaenyra, he has no reason too, when it comes to battle and war Rhaenyra knows nothing, and its hard to follow someone into war when they know nothing of it.

He NEVER wanted the throne, he said it in S1 too: he wanted to be Viserys's Hand, to be at his brither side, he said "MY BROTHER'S THRONE".

Daemon didn't lose the match but there were casualties as he fought Aemon and Vhagar.
Actually no, Daemon NEVER wanted the throne for himself.
The first scene of Daemon, with him sitting on the Iron Throne, it's not a proof of him wanting it for himself, it's just Daemon being provocative as he always is.
He surely thinks about the Iron Throne as his family throne, but WE KNOW he never wanted the throne for himself because we saw it and because he said it: what he wanted was to be at his brother's side, he wanted to be his Hand.
We saw him helping Viserys to sit on the throne, taking up the fallen crown and putting it back on his brother's head. After that we saw him crowning Rhaenyra, being the first one to kneel down and to call her "MY QUEEN". Also, Daemon announced Rhaenyra as "Rhaenyra, First of her name....".
We saw him asking the truth from the guards about whom they recognize as the true ruler and we saw him asking them to swear loyalty to QUEEN RHAENYRA AND PRINCE JACAERYS, the Heir to the Iron Throne.
Last but not least, he said "MY BROTHER'S THRONE".
He just wants Rhaenyra to be strong, determined and ready to strike. He fears she's not.

Potential Spoilers ahead:
I',m wondering if Baela's more prominent role during the battle of Rook's Rest means that she and Moondancer will be the ones to injure Aegon and Sunfyre. In the books this doesn't happen until much later, but we know neither Aegon nor his dragon will come out of this battle unscathed either... so maybe, just maybe, Baela and Moondancer fall on them in a rage after what happens between Meleys/Rhaenys and Vhagar/Aemond? It's just a thought.
I guess it's just as likely that Rheanys tells her granddaughter to stay clear of the fighting and it's only after the other three dragons are down that she unleashes her fury on the poor solders on the ground - since it's obvious that's why Cole and the others are scrambling for the cover of the trees.
Can’t wait for more of the prophecy of ice and fire!
I expect to get a lot of references when Jace heads to the Wall with Cregan Stark!

I don't think that scene with Rhaenyra has anything to do with Daemon wanting to crown himself. The development of Daemon's character over season 1 made it pretty clear that he doesn't really care about taking the throne or political power for himself (though his enemies certainly use that charge against him). The issue isn't whether Daemon will support Rhaenyra as queen, but whether he will actually *obey* her as his queen. Will Daemon actually do what Rhaenyra wants and hold back from things she tells him not to do, or will he just continue being his usual loose cannon self and do whatever he wants while not really giving a shit about orders?

I do hope the Manderley's & other important minor Northern houses (like House Dustin) are given their time to shine...
in the books the Manderleys swear to Rheanyra before the Starks do, the lord Desmond's son plays an important role in the next ruler's court.

My guess & hope (I've not read the books, please don't spoil) is that Daemon's response to Rhaenera's question is 'of course, I can't believe you have to ask me that' I think he has always loved her, they are both very passionate & maybe with him trying to protect her, he's in fight mode, and not reassuring her. Just my guess, don't crucify me. 😊

I really wish we had gotten a flashback and got to see Balerion the Black Dread, lol. I hope WHEN they do a series with him in it, he has black fire for his breath weapon, too. Vermithor looks amazing and VERY big.
kings have worn their crown on top of their helmets including Edward I and Henry V. The crown is not welded to the helmet but mounted on top of it.
That is why Henry Tudor was crowned at tge battle of Bosworth. Took it right off King Richard the 3rds helmet and crowned him on the battlefield.
