Had to pause the vid around 7 mins to order one!! OMG! I love VW campers, my mum owned a T2 for many years, and she and I drove it to Denmark and back for a 10 day break. Stayed at my sis's ex boyfriend's ex Danish girlfriend's place, and he slept with her for the week. What a great country!
I like that idea. A slammed VW bus with 20 inch chrome rims and some really low pro tires. I had a 1974 Super Beetle. They had a rounded front screen, an actual dash, and different bumpers. I loved her. My first car.
My dad would have loved this so much. He loved red & white Kombis, specifically this model wil split window and the multiple roof viewports. He also loved R/C. This would've been a fantastic present for him, he would've gone crazy for this little VW. Not gonna lie this got me a bit sentimental. Great review.
My 3yr old has had his D12 mini since last Xmas, it's been driven into everything and loaded with all sorts but nothing has broken and it still goes as well as the day it was unwrapped. They are a quality brand even if they are "toys".
A lot of the military vehicle brands started out as toys. But because of their detail and realism, hobbyists embraced them, and they became hobby grade. I can see that happening here as well. Seeing your outdoor runs reminded me of how the actual bus's suspension felt...
Very pretty. We had the 70s version, it was a great offroader, had a lot of clearance and enough flex to keep its wheels on the ground on 4wd tracks. Lowered with drift wheels would look cool, but also some dampening would make the stock setup look a lot more scale over those bumps
I hear you. In Australia here, ANYONE who was anyone in the building industry (even landline telephone technicians) only drove VW Kombi vans when needing work vans. The Japanese vans were all front wheel drive & just went nowhere spinning out on any gradient. The Kombis NEVER rusted or failed to start, regardless of tradesman running the sound systems, CB-radios/phones off the one battery all day long too.
That little film at the end really showed how capable for its size it is. It made it look so much fun, not exciting fun, just pleasing fun if that makes sense. It certainly made me smile watching it. Regarding the lack of driver, they missed a trick there. Imagine if it had driver and a few passengers, all with a concealed spring connecting the heads to the bodies so they'd wobble as the go over bumps.
Hi Phil, my sisters boyfriend would love that vw spilt bus. The detail looks great. Just wanted to say, I've just been delivered my Wiltoys 28010 rally car. After watching your review. I'm so pleased with it. So thank you for reviewing cheap fun cars. Got my eye on some metal drift wheels for it. Enjoying the advent calendar. Not long now. 😊
Your video is great. The setting for the slow roll and the music selection is excellent. This is a beautiful scale rc. I think it's a special edition VW bus with all the windows. I have seen the real life version of these on the car shows where they rebuild this van with all the windows. It's very much sought after by VW collectors. This scale rc will sell like crazy to VW fans as you said. When they have VW car shows you sell these like crazy. The details on this little van is amazing.
Another great video Phil, £47 and some change cracking price on that bus, I can see the modding community having fun with it, from pictures the rear you thought opens does, to show a moulded engine, fab detail.
The rear bonnet DOES actually open, there's a little gap in the moulding and there's a scale engine in there! Need to get one for myself, I really like the VW T1s!
Wow dude, That montage was thoroughly enjoyable. The music was absolutely perfect for the mood and the cinematography was right on point. I could tell from the audio how silky smooth this little model is. I will be buying one or three as the quality and detail are very high grade. Thank you for your hard work in bringing us great content. Keep it up Tomley boy!
A clever bit of editing and filming with the old structure and Christmas lights in the background. It made the scale details really come alive making it a desirable model to own. I won't even moan about not adding a driver. I laughed when you showed that you did try 😂 Another great advent video! I've watched all of them. Great work! 🙌🏼
Hehe I was pretty sure this VW would end up in your calendar... 😁 Love the England winter vibes, it reminded me of some good times I lived in the UK. Nice spot you found there by the castle, I think I know were this is !😉 Keep the good work, I'm back in the hobby thanks to you.
I got myself one of these a month or so ago. I managed to get the interior out of it, after a lot of work. I found that there is two hidden screws in the sides, that you have to remove the red plastic pieces very carefully to access. All just so I could get the dashboard out , to get a 3d printed right hand drive one made
My dad had an old VW Hightop Camper Bus that we used to travel around the United States to visit every in as kids. My parents were young hippies and it was a good time for us kids,. We towed a BBQ trailer behind the VW bus and sold BBQ sausage sandwiches to tourists and other travelers. That's how we paid for our whole cross-country run. It was crazy. lol. Another calendar day is gone. I wonder what is next? A helicopter? lol
Amazing little bus, Phil! Fantastic ride and review!!! 😃 BTW, talking about toy grade, take a look at the RaStar cars. They are pretty cheap, but it's more than easy to put a servo and even a 2430 brushless motor on them! As soon as I can I'm going to get their Dodge Charger 1970, like the one from the first Fast and Furious, to mod. 😬 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊 And happy holidays!
So... if you where to put this body on another chassis.. what would it be? crawler, monster truck?? Looks like it would go nice on a UDI/pinecone breaker/panther?
There's going to be a lot of those getting modified into the other body types. It'll be interesting to see someone make a half bus half pickup version. 🤔 I'd just make it look like the one I drive around in Gran Turismo 5, it might need to be 10% faster and have sliks on it for that. 🥴
Why in RC world 18650 and 14500 batteries are so small in capacity? In flashlights 18650s over 3000mAh is quite common and 14500 800mAh, one cannot find so small batteries anywhere but if it is for RC.
I could not imagine owning one of these full sized vans to actually drive. All of that glass would have made for good BB gun targets when I was a youngster. But this little rc is quite nice. Still to many windows.

The lighting and scenery in the night footage was beautiful!

In Germany we call this T1…Samba Bus, Like the Dance, thanks for introducing it

The NSA inspired Christmas Song "Let's Go Get Snowden" circa 2013 is still a popular holiday song for modern listeners at this special time of year.

Perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the camper. You ain't going anywhere quick but you are going.
This thing is adorable! Love your videos.

That is a really good toy grade RC. I'm also impressed by the ruins of that castle.

OH, I SO need one of those and a set of sculpted Fabulous Furry Freak Brother figures to put inside it...
'23 windows and it's gonna be a long ride' - RHCP ❤
Crushing it Phil. I havent missed a single one. Ill be sad when the 25 days are over.
Lowered on some Porsche alloys or Empi 5 spokes would look sick on this!

Very well detailed. It's impressive for toy grade. I'd definitely race them haha. Can't wait for that video Phil. Cheers 😄
They definitely did a great job on this one.
Most romantic rc review I've ever seen. Well done, mate.
Dang, wasn't expecting the song. Nice choice. 😮
Yes, Kei-Truck racing sounds fun!
Hehe I was pretty sure this VW would end up in your calendar... 😁

Music is PERFECT! 👏👏

I've got the yellow mini bus version of the pick up. It's brilliant !
Wow, these would fly off the shelves of they made all the T variants

awwwwwwwwwwww that little montage with the music was so nice!!
Despite not being a VW bus fan boy I still like it and looks like a good RC too!
That looks great. And is that Newark Castle in the background? A very suitable backdrop. 🤗👍🏻
Amazing little bus, Phil! Fantastic ride and review!!! 😃

That is one awesome little bus- it runs really well. Another great one down‼️👍👍🦾🦾🤘🤘
nice bit of videography for the action shots!
So... if you where to put this body on another chassis.. what would it be? crawler, monster truck?? Looks like it would go nice on a UDI/pinecone breaker/panther?
That was really lovely. Nice video. Bus is reasonable too
I miss that track of yours. Good thing I made a dirt version in my backyard. 😅
That looks so cool just needs some 3D printed people inside it 👍
That looks awesome. My 6 year old would love that 👍
I appreciate the effort they put into designing this
Excellent. I've watched all of them so far.
It’s like the wpl van but with a vw body.. I like it. Surfs up dude 🤙
Watching the little outside run was like watching the opening to a "Brum" episode
my dad passed away on this year july and he loved vw kombi thank you for reminding me of him 🖤
Awesome production! Great VW. Thanks. 👍
This works be a killer drift build
Cute upload. Perfect soundtrack choice.
What can I say? I like it, I want one. I'm a sucker for VW stuff.
turn one of them into a time attack car or track monster by add better grip tires and increasing speed lowering it and adding aero so it looks cool
That was a nicely relaxing video.
No indicators on turning?!? Definitely buying one of these 😮
Very Nice, but why is there a Maisto logo on the bottom of the car?

Mama meya 😂😂😂😂
Love it Tomley. Keep em coming! Get your hands on a cr18p Lizzard pro evo too.
Yes, it's hugely desirable!
Ooh a splitty
That poor train 😂
its so cool that the editing is so good it makes me want to get it
keep up the work 😊
I really would like to see a video on it with some wider wheels and rims. I think it will look great. 👍🏻 nice videos as well 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I WANT ONE -- that’s amazing 😎
Any tanks IFVs or military scale Rac vehicles?
I want to see something 10 scale
There is plenty 10th scale. Where have YOU been?
Nice scenery 😀👍 and smart #1
Thanks for the video, huge VW fan. Stopped the video to find your link to buy it. Merry Christmas!
Amazing video Phil 💯❤️
Looks like coffe spilled on your track rug
