At 6:52 just as a clarification for anyone watching this video, one can’t just divide by a variable because in many occasions we don’t know if a solution to that variable is zero. If it is, then we are dividing by zero which is mathematically undefined. The only reason Dr Hanson can do it here is because, in the context of this problem, x will never be zero as the projectile is heading in the positive x direction away from the origin (zero). If you encounter such problem in your studies, make sure you are aware of this.
Hey proffessor Hanson, you helped me get through statics and mechanics and I'm in dynamics now, thank you:)but are you able to finish the rest of the course on here aswell please!!
You have literally saved me when it comes to solids and now this class as well currently enrolled in both and with your videos they’re more practical With a bit of theory I’ve noticed versus getting straight theory from my professors so this is a huge help thank you so much
@6:25 The TI-36X Pro has a function to solve an equation like this. Use the num-solv function. If there's only one variable it works perfect. Thank you for these videos, Dr. Hanson, you got me through statics last semester and currently dynamics. You are a great instructor.
Thanks Dr. Hanson, I have followed your Statics Course it was really amazing and passed it with A+ and now I am following your Solid mechanics and Dynamics courses your work is awesome, I hope these courses keeps going. Thanks once again.
wait I don't understand why you wrote -y=0+0+(1/2)(-9.81)t^2 How come you wrote -y instead of just y? This results in the value of y always being positive as per equation 2 but the projectile is travelling downwards.
Hey Jeff, Curious if you will be continuing this series? Currently in dynamics and struggling a bit. Your videos seem to be the only ones that help out.
what about other videos after this for dynamics??? I have final exam next week and your videos are really helpful you saved me during statics.. Sir can you please upload the other topic videos soon plzzzzzzz
can you please finish these videos? These videos are the better than any teacher I've ever had.
Random tip - if you are also looking for good math videos, then I can highly recommend the math lectures by Professor Leonard.
Special place in heaven for people like this man, thank you .
Because he helped you?

Sir, thanks and please complete the full dynamics course
it'll be a great help
Thank you for the time you spend on these videos, theyre very helpful. I really hope you post more on dynamics!
This guy's Bob's Burgers energy is off the charts and I'm absolutely here for it
DR. Hanson, thank you for an excellent explanation of Projectile Motion With Parabolic Landing.
Thanks Dr. Hanson, I have followed your Statics Course it was really amazing and passed it with A+ and now I am following your Solid mechanics and Dynamics courses your work is awesome, I hope these courses keeps going.
Thanks once again.
sir i am from Africa and please more vedio more vedio .......more...
and tnxs your on of the best!!!!!big respect
Can you post more videos when you can? Thank you, you have quite helpful.
Hi from Jordan. This is just so great! THANK YOU SO MUCH for doing such videos!
This is an awesome series like your others. I already completed Dynamics but I would still like to see this series completed :D
Thank you Sir for your effort. You really make these tuff courses easy to us. Waiting for more videos on solids as well.
Thank you so much for the videos! They are very helpful! Please keep them coming
best teacher ever. can u please upload more videos on dynamics....
Your videos are very helpful, I wish you were my teacher. Please upload more🙏
Jeff where are the rest! I need themmmm please! bestow your knowledge on us!
would you be able to finish the course before 20 January 2018 ???
Keep going dr 👌🏿

kittyhak I am continuing. Don’t know if I can keep up with you though. I am also teaching 5 classes this semester...thanks for watching. Hanson
Totally understand! I'll look forward to watching what you do have time for. The solids are helping me out right now as well!
we believe you can do it, we need more
From Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦
Thanks a lot dr💙
Any chance we might get a video on kinematics in cylindrical coordinates soon?
you are the best there is.
Hi sir i love how you teach dynamics keep them going
Please please please finish the Dynamics course! Your videos are beyond helpful!
Martin Strumpfer I'm on it buddy. Crazy busy right now. I'll get some done soon....promise
would you please complete the full course ?
what about other videos after this for dynamics??? I have final exam next week and your videos are really helpful you saved me during statics.. Sir can you please upload the other topic videos soon plzzzzzzz
I agreeeeee I neeeeeeeed tooooo!!!!!!
Dr. Hanson will you add more videos soon, like today? I really need your help
Thank you so much, you are my best teacher. From Libya
i bet dr. Jeff's resolution for this year is to finish these videos... or maybe next year .
Thank you so much
This is more of algebra than "dynamics"! But great video afterall, thank you.
where did the -9.81 come from?
gravitational acceleration
It makes it so much worse that this is a high school problem 😱
Dang right this video has zero dislikes; thank goodness I did not enroll in Dynamics no earlier than this semester!
Sir please upload more videos, it's been 3 months since you've uploaded this one!... Are you okay?
MRO I’m ok...lol...I’ll do some this weekend.
ahaha ok 😅
Mr Jeff, you better stop this mikey mouse like voice you sound like chester the melaster, from Hansen catching predators
Baba you’re solving too easy questions. Maybe that’s fine for US students but not for Europeans.
