    Music is top notch and those crunchy voice clips and the animation stills.... I would have loved this as a kid. A shame that they could only do vs mode but I'm still jealous I can't afford a mini to experience this 😢.

    Apparently it was planned for this to be the whole game, but they simply didn’t have the time… maybe SEGA could get the whole game commissioned and perhaps released via AGES or on Steam?

      I do not know the development history with this port, and I feel that it was rushed due to time. Hopefully, you're right and it does get released as a full game.

      this will literally never happen. it would be pretty badass, though

      After FZ1, Ages was done. so they'd have to do it as a steam game or add it to MD Collection.

    Regarding your comment on the description, this port wasn't bad because they weren't good at porting it, the studio who did it (M2) just didn't have enough time to finish it. They barely got the cutscene system to work. I am glad this didn't happen because the rest of the translations including the manual are terribly translated. I wouldn't like a whole game with that quality.
    Also, I'd say the GBC port isn't a "demake", that's just one of the releases. demake is when you purposely port a game to an older system, game boy was a current one at the time

    Thank you very much for this. I wanted to see Vs. In action, but didn’t have any other reason to get a Genesis Mini 2 lol

    To the alternate universe where Sega had enough time to emulate the entire game into the Genesis:
    How are you?

      Welp, the year is off to a rough start. I'm still recovering from my medical condition in my sinuses.
      How about you?

    I am shocked this game looks and sounds as good as it does (voice clips aside)

    Oddly enough, despite it being stylized like a Genesis game, it does not begin with the COMPILE logo like in the original. I don't know why SEGA decides to discredit COMPILE on future re-releases and titles other than they own it and all.

      I don't know either, maybe it was because they were eyeing this franchise for some time. I do not like how they're treating Puyo Puyo ever since they bought the rights.

    • @asaelpolanco8151
      @asaelpolanco8151 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@trevgauntletneu_gaming // I think I agree. SEGA nowadays just doesn't know about Puyo Puyo and their treatment is hit and miss. Especially since it has to do with them not crediting COMPILE (a.k.a. their good partners) in any of the recent games and ports.

    • @Saetta06

      they did that with the 2003 rerelease of SUN on PS1 too! which later go released on PSN.

    • @CebolaBros
      @CebolaBros ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Why would they need to credit Compile? Genuine question. AFAIK SEGA bought the Puyo rights from them in relatively good terms, and changing up credits in re-releases and (re/de)makes like these is unfortunately common practice, not something exclusive to SEGA

    • @YourTypicalRemixer
      @YourTypicalRemixer ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I think it has something to do with how Compile is still alive now. The company was brought back from the dead as Compile Heart in 2006 but since they already sold the Puyo rights to Sega, when Sega creates rereleases they probably can’t legally give them credit.

    I think kikimora is the only one that uses schezo's theme?

      I think so too, I tried to play different characters more than one. So far, none had their themes change.

    Harpy's voice samples in particular sound extremely painful...I wouldn't mind seeing a version of Puyo Puyo Sun on 32X

      too much going on on cpu for cleaner voices, probably. this is common in a lot of MD games
