Tom Felton is the best. He fan boys about harry potter so hard! Its really sweet. Adds another layer to Draco, once you realize how in love with the wizarding world and how dedicated tom was to production and his cast mates.

I am a harry potter fan since i was a child. now i am almost 27. it means so much to me and this anniversary special was overwhelming and i didn't expect it to be so emotional for me.
That Robbie Coltrane last part is so heart breaking, especially now. This was the perfect time to do this reaction video, so thank you!!! First time I watched it, I had tears in my eyes in the first minute and a half. Also, watch Die Hard! I can't believe you didn't see it before. Although Alan Rickman will always be Snape. I really enjoyed this reunion. It’s different from other reunions. This one made them all feel like they’re family. For some people Cedric’s death wasn’t the death of a character but seeing it from a parents side and feeling bad for his dad losing his only child. It’s a little spooky listening to Robbie Coltranes speech about not being around in 50 yrs to see the films continue strong and him dying not long after this interview. I think it was a good idea for Rickman to get the whole story of Snape from Rowling. It really added to the way he played Snape. Made him seem evil but a little hesitation at times. Some movies with Alan Rickman to check out is Dogma, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, Galaxy Quest, and he voices the caterpillar in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. Neville could’ve been the chosen one just as easily if Voldemort thought his family was the issue. Both Neville and Harry were born around the same time and both fit the prophecy but Voldemort decided it was Harry probably due to how his parents were.
In regards to Cedric, I remember I didn't cry the scene when he died I think because he wasn't a character that was as present. At least not in the movie and I hadn't read the books yet. But the scene right after with his father finding out his child was gone broke me because the actor played the scene so well that you could feel the sheer agony and grief and I couldn't even imagine that kind of pain of losing a child like that.

Dogma is a hilarious 90s movie starring Alan RIckman as a fallen angel. He is so funny and deadpan. Epic. Also Galaxy quest is a dif type of role he did!

After the first and second movie, I believe Alan Rickman didn't want to continue playing Snape because of how cruel and seemingly flat the character was. So, in order to get him to stay, J.K. Rowling told him everything that was going to happen in the books, at least Snape's entire arc. Rickman was the only other person to know the details other than J.K. Rowling and decided to continue to play Snape knowing what a complex character he was and how emotional the payoff would be in the end.
If you have not seen any Alan Rickman movies - watch "Robin Hood" with Kevin Costne - he is the Sherrif of Nottingham - actually the role that made me fall in love with Alan Rickman - he is the reason to watch that movie! He just owned that...
Don't remember if it was covered in the special but my favorite gary/dan fact was about the fith movie. After black is murdered Dan was having a really hard time getting the emotion down so gary oldman was like "hey can i try an acting exercise with you?" and poor nieve excited dan was like "oh sure sounds great" Then gary Oldman proceeded to grab him, shake him violently and scream in his face until dan ACTUALLY cried."
the actor that played Quirrel also plays in a show called The Last Kingdom on Netflix. excellent show. great story. phenomenal cast. you should check it out, even if it's on your own. I will say, however, it doesn't get reacted to often enough for how good it truly is
Also, if you'd like to have a seriously good time with Alan, I highly recommend The Search for John Gissing. He really let himself go on that one and obviously had a lot of fun doing it.
I've seen several anniversary specials for shows and movies like this, but the Harry Potter anniversary might be the best of them. I'm not necessarily a huge Harry Potter fan, just more of a moderate fan at the most. I guess this just did well in hitting you hard with the naustalgic feels. I watched all your HP reactions last night and they cracked me up! In this video you mention that they didn’t really explain the locket affecting them very well and it made me think of how in the first HP reaction you mentioned something about how you will never watch Lord of the Rings. Had you watched LotR you would’ve understood the Horcruxes’ effects instantly. So much of HP (and all modern fantasy) is a direct rip from LotR. I do hope you give them a shot at some point as I think you would enjoy them, especially for the amazing fight scenes and CGI that was groundbreaking at the time. There’s even a little jerk to root for in Gollum and his role increases as the series goes on so you’d have plenty to love there.
I suppose the special really wasn't the place to talk about it, but I can't help but wish that the cast had called out the media here for behaving so vilely toward Emma Watson. They nearly drove her out of her role entirely with how sexually they treated a 15 year old girl. God, I miss Alan Rickman. I hope you're having a great time with the rest of his catalog.

Listen to the Steven Fry Audio tapes. You will learn a lot more and it will be like seeing it all for the first time but with much greater character development and plot detail! Might be an idea for a review. Listen and then discuss book by book.
It's entirely insane, but one of my favourite Alan Rockman movies is Blow Dry. It's completely camp and deeply ridiculous. I recommend it highly. Just watch the trailer, srsly

@AdamfromFWCI my all time favourite film is Pride and Prejudice, the Kira Knightly one. The acting is class, the visuals are stunning, and the score holds a special place in my heart. I went through an intense bout of insomnia in college and I could not sleep without the soundtrack for nearly 2 years.

Shame it was overshadowed by the real world monster that Rowling has turned out to be. I was glad to see the push back from many of the cast members. I am also glad that it wasn't talked about in the anniversary special itself. Your coverage of the movies was quite enjoyable. Your love of Snape is hilarious. Alan Rickman is brilliant but Snape is a pretty vile character, probably what makes him so interesting. If you haven't seen it, you should check out Galaxy Quest, one of Rickman's best films in my opinion.

Ironically, Half Blood Prince is the worst adaptation of the book, so usually the least favorite of the book readers. For those who haven't read the book it plays as a great movie though. For rme it was still more of a grower, like Deathly hallows pt.1. Lord of the RIngs? I remember you saying you had no interest, but yeah it's one of those timeless franchises that will live forever. Jurassic Park doesn't close. I was a latecomer to harry Potter, I also didn't think it was for me, but I think anyone who tries it gets hooked. And trust me, Lord of the RIngs is the same, although potter might have a broader appeal because it's set in a contemprary setting in the real world. You would also see how many ideas J.K Rowling "borrowed" from Tolkien.
Robbie Coltrane will forever be the uncle we never had. Hagrid was such an intricate character in this amazing story.
