- Vocalist: Kaushiki Chakraborty (born 24 October 1980) is an Indian classical vocalist and a composer. She attended Sangeet Research Academy, and was one of the exponents of Patiala gharana. Her repertoire covers pure classical, Khyals, Dadras, Thumris etc. and several other forms of Indian music. She is the recipient 2005 BBC Radio 3 Awards for World Music in the Asia-Pacific category. She is the daughter of Hindustani classical vocalist, Ajoy Chakraborty and she has held performances with him as well as her husband, Parthasarathi Desikan. In 2020, she was awarded Nari Shakti Puraskar. Kaushiki is also a trained Carnatic Classical Vocalist.

Why has she not explored SHANKARA SO FAR?
There are many ragas she has never or rarely sung. Jhinjhoti, Todi family, Marwa, Bhairav family, Darbari kanada and many more. She sticks to what shes good at.
She sings hamshadhwani ,which is similar to sankara. Baki I think with time she will. She recently have started exploring khamaj that raags more like chayanat , jaijawanti.
@@keithhunt5328jhinjhoti is rarely sung these days idk why. But I agree. I want to listen lalit,desh , naand , gunkali darbari , gaud sarang , puriya dhaneshree in her voice.

Such a poor recording of such a great performance. Please take care that you are ruining the years and years of "Saadhna" that she did by not hiring someone who knows noise cancellation recording. I mean even TH-camrs know how to do it and this sound person could not? Such a waste of money and time when incompetent sound engineers are hired.
