This is a rare interview, very well done. Kaushiki Chakraborty is the reason I listen to Indian classical music these days. She is Devi Saraswati, the goddess of Indian music. Great job 👌🏻

Why Kaushiki is Devi Saraswati and Lata is Ma Saraswati? Can’t we Indians stop comparing mortals with gods?

one of the best way to interview an artist is to allow the artist to express ... which most of the media lacks.. thats why i like this interaction as she was allowed to express her opinion... wonderfully done ..❤

I hardly ever comment on any social media, but this interview is so beyond superb that I am overcoming my hesitation. Great interview. The interviewer does a fabulous job by not interrupting when Kaushikiji is speaking. Kudos to the interviewer for never letting the level of discourse lowered. He is absolutely professional and more importantly, very mature and so well informed in his interaction with such a renowned artiste.
I have been an ardent fan of Kaushikiji but watching this interview has induced in me an absolutely different level of reverence for her. So scholarly, so sensitive and such beautiful articulation of spirituality. Truly inspiring to listen to her. Respect! May your tribe flourish.

I can't put my feelings into words... it felt like atma and Maa Saraswati were imparting wisdom about musical art, the sadhana needed to excel in a chosen field, and how this practice is essentially an inward journey of self-discovery and this journey not only enriches oneself but also aids others in their life journeys. Thank you is a too small word Maa Saraswati..

I saw Kaushiki ji recently in Austin. Wow, besides the fact, she is ' Maa Saraswathi', she is so humble. What struck me the most, is the way she recognized all the musicians who supported her on the stage. Perhaps, all the old clowns ( sorry that's what I think of them) who claim to be masters... learn from her! Way to go Kaushiki and the next time you are in Austin, please come home

This interview is such an asset. The more I listen to her speak out her thoughts , her philosophies the more I understand by her musical expression. Her inner beauty and unique persona reflects in her music and why it is so different from everyone including her own legendary father and the more I fall in love with it. It's not easy to daughter of an enigma like panditji and curve your own path musically and otherwise and create your identity in one's youth itself , but she has done it and so beautiful. As a bengali and a student of music , I feel so proud that pt Ajoy Chakrabarty , vidushi kaushiki Chakraborty exists and they are representing bangalees in this field worldwide.. .Thankyou karan for this interview..

Such a gem of an interview in its true spirit! Koushiki is not an artiste but a phenomenon. The clarity and depth with which she sings she speaks her mind too. Very articulated, introspected and thought-provoking answers she delivered which are to be listened to in solitude to purify ourselves and to delve into our real selves. Karan is to be applauded too for creating such an ambience and providing the liberating space where an artiste of her caliber could open her mind and soul. It just happens once in a blue moon!!

What an authentic discussion! Kudos to Karan for creating that space 🎉. ( This podcast)
In reverence to Kaushiki Ji’s humanity, dedication towards her craft, her meeting the crafts-woman who are not spoken about , and not sounding too much like a feminist but a humanist…the words used to articulate in the language also need to change….
Perhaps usage of mankind needs to reduce and humankind needs to increase?
Kaushiki ji’s thought process and articulation is as important as presentation of her craft for future generations to introspect and bring up their better selves to forth. ❤

Very rarely does one come across an artiste who can articulate her thought processes and the underlying processes that make an artiste evolve and become what she is - this is a master class about life itself and one gets mesmerized , drawn into the conversation and can relate to the introspection. Brilliantly conducted and answered interview. It is so organic and free flowing - the listener gets swept along and becomes part of the podcast.

I resonate so. Much with what kaushaki is saying ..i learnt from emonent gurus and yet had to give up music thanks to my punju husband and family..for 20 yrs till i restarted .. its sad but true ..

I was long time searching for this kind of podcast to know about classical music. What i was looking for i found it in this video. It changed my perspective to look at music. Thank you so much❤😊

What a wonderful expression at a human level by someone many consider to be the goddess of classical music. There are so many wonderful nuggets here. Examples: Why-What-How (the pivotal role of why). "I don't have ownership.""Is singing for Bollywood a progress for a singer? That is something wher ei find my expression. My music is my centerstage. I don't see my music as a supporting element that will be defined by another narrative. Why do I need to put my music back stage." "Creativity is never to be prescribed." @Karan - you did a wonderful job by giving Kaushikiji the space to express what she wanted to without a filter- keep it up.

I can relate to this interview in so many ways as I'd wait for my dad s one nod when I played a bol on my tabla and he'd accept it as being close to what my Guruji had taught me, all this many decades ago 🙏❤ but nostalgic now....
