End of November, 2018. A year after his passing and listening now. We will never have music produced with the same quality we had in the 70s. And yes David was one of the best and should be recognized for his many talents. I believe one day he will be
The best of the best was David Cassidy. I so love the way he bows after a song. Thanks so much for sharing this. May dear David Rest In Peace ....gone from this world but never forgotten💕
Love this! We Americans were so preoccupied with our Peter Frampton and disco that we were never told these songs existed. I only found out after he passed when I read his autobiography. Then I downloaded them all.
David was so talented, so much more than a teen idol. It was so difficult for him to fight that image he'd created due to his role on The Partridge Family. The show gave him success but it sure was a double edged sword. RIP DAVID XO!
David Cassidy came across as being so cool hard to believe he needed drink .Unfortunately he had a tortured soul an open wound that would not heal .Bless him 🙂💓💖💖💖💓💖💖💓💖💖💖💖💖💖💓💖💖💖💖💖🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞
He wrote so many good songs! I love his pop music from the 70s, as that is one of 2 favorite genres. The other is rock, which is what he loved. It's a shame his fame as a pop star made it impossible for him to break out of that genre and become just as popular for the kind of music he loved best. I will always love him! ❤❤
The song was about him and his life I believe. The gal he 'lost' to rock and roll was Meredith Baxter Birney. Not sure how she could walk away from him but apparently they had a thing and because he was gone so much in concert--it didn't go anywhere. Imagine having an opportunity with David and saying 'um, not thanks'.
@@veronicazrnchik9014 Actually, at the time he was seeing Meredith, there was a threat to kidnap him and he had to go live in a hotel for a month with a 24/7 bodyguard. It kind of put a damper on his relationship with her and it didn't go further.
@@Swakara1 That couldn't have been much of a relationship in reality if that was what stopped it. In his book, he seems to imply that he really, really liked her. Seems like a significant relationship would be able to overcome the issue of the kidnapping etc.
@@veronicazrnchik9014 you always want what you can't have. He wanted her, she didn't want him. It seems David liked the girl(s) that didn't fall all over him. Let's face it, how many girls fit into that category!
I had the album this was on. I would have loved to seen this then. Better late than never though! Thank you so much! I love 2:02 to 2:15 especially...so sexxxy AND adorable and then the voice...sigh

David oozed sexuality but that wasn't really talked about back then. He got pegged as a 'teen idol' and he couldn't really shake that. He was a great performer and always gave 110% of himself. His later music was really great but didn't get much attention. His PF songs were great too. He spent a long time battling his demons and battling the industry but still managed to make lots of great music, act, write and perform in plays, and do lots of concerts. Glad he left a lot of himself behind in his music for us to appreciate. Wonder what that man could have accomplished if he hasn't been saddled with a crazy dad and teen idol status.
Did anyone else notice that although D.C. was the first and set the stage for many Artist that came after him, none of them asked for a duet? In my opinion, they probably knew the stage wasn't big enough for both. 🤔🤔
David WAS very very talented, but this isn't his best performance. I am sure he hated those white dungarees, and he doesn't even try to pretend he was playing guitar here. Bless you, David. I hope you are in a happier place.
i will never forget his handshake. One of the best moments of my life.
Thanks, "WOLF MAN JACK"! Because they aired this show at midnight or late at night! DAVID CASSIDY KEEP ON ROCKIN! PEACE!

Rose Petal you are so right. He was the best. May he Rest In Peace.
I'm lucky to have had David Cassidy in my youth and not Justin Bieber, that says a lot about the quality of my life ... :-)
Yes your right

Great song from a great album "Gettin' it in the Streets' I downloaded the album from itunes and I am enjoying every song!
You're right! Just downloaded the album from iTunes.
He had alot to be proud about..
Best album, songs penned mostly by DC, although not released in US, damn shame...beautifully produced, emblematic of 70s rock, the best♡
The applause was intoxicating . . .
it doesnt matter what he wears, where he is, or what he do, he is sexy anyway
Thank you for sharing! LOVE DAVID CASSIDY!

Daddy left before I was three
Just Momma takin' care of me
My heart was broken
No words spoken
Daddy wants to be a millionaire
How he gets there, he don't care
I watched him go
Too young to know
He was
Gettin' It In The Street
Gettin' It In The Street
He was pickin' it up, checkin' it out, chewin' it up, spittin' it out
Gettin' It In The Street
He was givin' it all away
When I was young I used to run with the pack
Hitched a ride down the railroad tracks
I was lean and mean, the American Dream
Met a girl a couple years ago
Then I lost her to my rock 'n roll
But it's all right
That's just the way it goes
He was
Gettin' It In The Street
Gettin' It In The Street
He was pickin' it up, checkin' it out, chewin' it up, spittin' it out
Gettin' It In The Street
He was givin' it all away
Here as you laugh in your dreams while you're sleeping
Your daddy has gone left no word of his leaving
Gettin' It In The Street
Gettin' It In The Street
He was pickin' it up, checkin' it out, chewin' it up, spittin' it out
Gettin' It In The Street
He was givin' it all away
Gettin' It In The Street
Gettin' It In The Street
He was pickin' it up, checkin' it out, chewin' it up, spittin' it out
Gettin' It In The Street
He was givin' it all away

What kind of guitar is that?
With Mick Ronson on guitar, though not shown here, he'd upstage 'em.
What was Ronson thinking about bloody awful
