Poor flyover design is another reason. The airport road flyover is poorly designed. One flyover starts just after Hebbal and ends up at near Yelahanka, and the other one starts at Yelahanka and ends up near Yelahanka Air-force station. Though the second flyover comes to ground level, people are not allowed to interchange from flyover to service road or vice versa. The same is also the case outside the city limits (e.g. one cannot change from Hunsemaranahalli to after Chikjala.
Simple solution to make Bengaluru traffic free is block use of personal vehicles in IT PARK. WHATEVER flyover are being constructed should be reserved only for BMTC ksrtc buses/ private transport bus use only . Seperate lane for bus on ground is not possible in Bengaluru so flyover which are being constructed on metro pillar should be having bus stop integrated to metro station and only bus should be allowed on these flyover. 90℅ public will use public transport if bmtc/ksrtc get seperate flyover for RUN. Also bus stand is located in center of Bengaluru. Region wise Bengaluru has to shift bus stand to peripheral ring road or sttr so all buses can shift to the new bus stands like east west North South directions. Metro should be extended till these new bus station. This will 100℅ remove existing traffic.

The problem in blr is that the roads are way to narrow and ill designed to carry such a huge amt of traffic and on top of that its is the High rise trend in India which give rise to very very high population density per sqkm of area. in LA, the population is apporx 3 million with the city almost 76 km wide while blr has 1.4 million people but the size of the city is way smaller considering that that blr is 36km wide. Govt should mandate WFH to atleast 3 days a week.
I'm livin in pune.... I haven't paid more than 30 rs on any route... For some reason I went benglore in last weak and I use the public transport because it will cost less.... Bmtc charge 290 for one person for 40km i think it is much more cotlier for public transport to be used...
the Congestion due to BAD City Planning or any lack of proper planning. Roads are too narrow , no footpath, shops and buildings too close to the road, too many new structures built close to each other etc. This is not just in Bangalore but all over India. As the City grows road and transport infrastructure has to grow also, but this is severely lacking in India. The authorities in charge have no vision , apart from massive corruption. This system has to be reformed. Unforturnately I do not see it happening any time soon. Sad.

We have 2% land and 20% population and everyone wants to flaunt their success via vehicle they own and for freedom too successful people won't travel by public transport the only solution to traffic free cities is stop commercial activities on ground floor, it should be only for vehicle use and take all commercial activities on first floor except related to transportation

Making multiple central bus stands may reduce the traffics ??? Like satellite bus stand Mysore Road have to build more big bus stands .. One at Silk Board Second at Hebbal Third at KR Puram Fourth at Magadi Road Fifth At Yeswantpur The Sixth one at Varthur Kodi Seventh one at Kanaka pura Road The eight Bus stand at Bannargatta road Another one at Anekkal It will help people to Departure quickly from locations
