Was just talking about this with the homies today. Modern gaming has objectively gotten worse and it's not just nostalgia goggles looking back on games we played when we were younger. You touched on all the major points the industry is just burying itself at this point. New games can't hold a candle to old games anymore.
if you grew up playing games in like the mid 2000's-2010's......BRO WE HAD IT SO GOODD, IT WASN'T LIKE THISSS. I even miss the Wii at my friend's grandma place
Yeah, the length of a game can be a double-edged sword. If it’s too short you may feel as though you didn’t really get your money’s worth, but if it’s too long it can feel like a slog or even overwhelming to the point you lose interest altogether from how much you have to get done. The best mentality is to not make it a chore: if you don’t feel like playing something, don’t play it until you’re genuinely in the mood to do so. Videogames are meant for entertainment, so they should never feel like a second job.
Completely agree with EVERYTHING you said. This is the SADDEST state gaming has ever been in. Yes the industry may be making the most money it ever has,but that's because they are literally SCAMMING us at this point.
"characters hands was bricks, fingers all glued together , janky ass movements, could barely make out what was going on cause it was like you drank 10 casamigos" 😭 she ain't wrong though
I been saying this for years they took the fun of grinding away. I don’t pay for micro transactions but the combo of micro transactions and the constant updates to games is annoying when back in the day the game had to be perfect on release.
Yeah, alot of the content these days are profit focused. Most development time looks like this now, conception -> development -> push out. However, that development period usually takes more than 5 years in the games industry for any triple A title (that's ironic since we haven't actually gotten anything that IS triple A quality much less quadruple A). It's sad really cuz if you think about how these multi million dollar companies started, they mostly had humble beginnings and had a legendary line up of old games to back up their repertoire. Nowadays everything is a battle pass heavy microtransacrion filled gacha gamble machine that makes almost every game UNBEARABLE to even turn on because you know you're logging in to do some CHORES lmao.
People are just burnt out on long standing franchise titles. It’s all it is. Just put into perspective of how games were in 2002 and you’d realize how far we’ve come that you cherish what’s out today instead of judge bit by bit on why the game sucks when it’s still a great game. NBA is the only game I have issue with because they are taking things way too far with their virtual currency schtick. Everybody else, I either play to this day or I’m taking a break because I’m burnt out but I don’t want to shit on the game because it’s still leagues better than 15 years ago.
I def agree w u but I also know why they took so long u gotta think ab it it’s all ab money and if ppl keep playing and buying gtaV they not as enticed to make a new one
Those are some solid points but with single-player games having longevity it doesn’t matter because the alternative would be a live service game and we get a half-baked game plus pay full price and microtransactions baked in the game The thing with gaming is the same with the movies and how every industry is going hyper capitalism let me explain there are 2 types of movies low budget and high budget the middle budget is gone because there’s no money in it or not enough same applies to gaming there’s only indie gaming and triple AAA games the middle budget games the ones that took risks that where super experimental and fun but cause they don’t make money bye bye. This is where every industry has gone or is going because capitalism has no limit it will crush everything in its way movies games music everything. Look at Sony they are coming out saying they are focusing on live service games why because that’s what makes money and it’s not because the other way single-player games don’t make money but they don’t make the insane amount of these other live service games. With this world it's all about growth growth growth.
I just want a game that can last for a long time.. so many games nowadays are too focused on bein another “fortnite” by having battle passes n stuff like that .. just need something original, fun,& different
Honestly I ain’t mad they took so long with gta 6 atleast they taking they time and we know that’s gone be fire and keep us entertained with hella shit to do for a minute, these other games be so rushed they have repetitive ass gameplay making us pay for dumbass shit and then people wonder why they die in like 6 months
You was speaking fax in this vid abt the live service stuff and dlc but I feel like this is too broad of a statement to say games have been trash because honestly they really haven’t. If you look up games by year going from let’s just say 2013 and up cuz I was 1 when the 360 came out 😂 you’ll see a bunch of amazing games throughout all genres.
Like I'd rather have a game thats worth the money I made that has everything included, no glitches, good graphics and maybe js a well done game instead of releasimg shit with a blind eye
With all due respect GTA is one of the largest games of all time you can expect them to release a game every year and still make it as good as they always do
GTA 4 was released in 2008 and 5 years later they released GTA 5 in 2013 and during the 5 years of work on GTA 5 they also released Red Dead Redemption, Max Payne L.A. Noire and Chinatown wars In 2013 we got GTA 5 then 5 years later we got Red Dead redemption 2 in 2018 and the next planned release is 7 years after that in 2025 for GTA 6 They did release major games yearly that were profitable and well received by the fans And sure Chinatown wars was a dud but all those other games people loved
Just in the past 2 months Palworld and Helldivers have put triple or “quad” A games like Suicide Squad or Skull and Bones to shame…. I have way more trust in indie developers and smaller studios to provide worthwhile entertainment over largely recognized studious. Now is a great time to go back and pick up some classics for cheap, there are so many great titles most people have heard of and never tried; hopefully any gamer reading this can get around to those games in your backlog.
no cap i was in freshman year hs when gta v dropped. im now 24 in my own apt w a beautiful girlfriend and our first kid 😂😂

I feel like the only thing we can trust in gaming is the indie side.
if you grew up playing games in like the mid 2000's-2010's......BRO WE HAD IT SO GOODD, IT WASN'T LIKE THISSS. I even miss the Wii at my friend's grandma place
we aint know how good we had it back then. i been playing classics on emulators more than my ps5 at this point.
@@babypluto636 i been spamming the hell out them emulators
Hell divers 2 saving gaming
True asf
Shes right on that most games aren't good today like how they used to be a lot has a change on the gaming things thanks for spitting facts❤
always 💯💯
also on the sports games part they could drop a major update yearly there’s no point in a new game every year just for updated rosters
I could sit and play through a 60 hr rockstar game any day. I’ll make time in my 65+ hr work week to do that

You said every damn thing i been thinking lately and you put in dbd gameplay? Oh yeah i love this video fr ☝️
"characters hands was bricks, fingers all glued together , janky ass movements, could barely make out what was going on cause it was like you drank 10 casamigos"

Investors seeking endless profits is the problem in gaming.

I also dislike buying a game for single player use but you can’t play it unless you have an internet connection
Thats a big thing too!! can't believe i forgot to mention that
I just want a game that can last for a long time.. so many games nowadays are too focused on bein another “fortnite” by having battle passes n stuff like that .. just need something original, fun,& different

And yes it feels like there's a game drought

theres def still good stuff out i'm just speaking on the sorry ones
A AAA game is really supposed to take 5 years
I knew this shit was cooked when they put a battle pass in single player games
i agree hella but gta v got hella updates online bruh, they still addin stuff not even 6 days ago
Idk bout the god of war take tho that dropped on thanksgiving break and I had it done like 2 days later so wasn’t really an issue for me
Cyberpunk still in bad shape to this day 😂
after all those years at that lmao
That’s cap
Cyberpunk has one of the best stories in all of rpgs, the gameplay is completely revamped and done over. This is not an opinion
Like I'd rather have a game thats worth the money I made that has everything included, no glitches, good graphics and maybe js a well done game instead of releasimg shit with a blind eye
I still been tryna get up with you on a few games I got the tekken 8 recently.. MK1 n of course GTA is still fun to dabble w..
what u play on? we could play texas chainsaw lol i think cross play is back on
valid video
aint SHIT hitting anymore like it used to
They take away MW2 for MW3 like you double the cost for a dlc. If they do that to gta5 I’m not getting 6 for $120.
With all due respect GTA is one of the largest games of all time you can expect them to release a game every year and still make it as good as they always do
When did i say they needed to release a game every year? I said 3-5 years like they usually used to do.
GTA 4 was released in 2008 and 5 years later they released GTA 5 in 2013 and during the 5 years of work on GTA 5 they also released Red Dead Redemption, Max Payne L.A. Noire and Chinatown wars
