I was given this bootleg… probably in 90…6 or 7? I played it, and played it, until it ended up one of those things that just had had its run. I haven’t heard the whole show again until now. It’s probably been… 20 years. I’m so happy I’m in tears.❤️
Got to love him.... Surprised you didn't pursue Jerry's music, you know,; a little sooner...before getting into hearing this time again... God bless which ever you do. ✌️
Awesome, no flash ,no light show , no other players ,no banter just one person w guitar and right to the business of capturing an entire crowd and holding them as long as you want. You just can't do that if the task at hand is not your total purpose for existing
After a long night of tripping balls and a long day at work i could seriously use some acoustic Jerry to wind down. That and some strong hash. Thanks Gnu! Gnu the man!!!! ✌&❤&💨💨💨&🌹🌹🌹🌹
@fungusuas goodasufugu Right on! The way Jerry blended them together in this one was magic. I didn't know the song had even changed until he started singing. Perfect segue if i ever did see and hear one. ❤
Both songs in same key with very similar structure? What does SMBH stand for? Edit- never mind, I see it stands for Sing Me Back Home. Set list / time stamps at beginning of comments is a little off, no? Double edit- I saw the GD at the Spectrum for 1st time on 4-7-85 (Easter Sunday). I then saw Jerry w John Kahn at Tower Theater not long after that (late 85 / early 86?). I became entranced and started trading tapes and going to as many shows as possible up until 1990 when Brent passed. Remained a huge fan, buying many Dicks Picks and other releases and reading many books about the JG / Dead throughout my whole life. I find it amazing to never know about these solo JG shows? Did these happen when John Kahn got sick or something?
He did a night they drove old dixie down in south fallsburg, ny a couple months later it was one of the best shows I ever saw, Bobby & midnites opened.
Yes. Jerry was convinced to do a little solo acoustic tour but after one show he sent for Kahn. He always said he considered himself a support musician as part of an ensemble. Personally, I’d have liked to hear a lot more solo Jerry.
I think jerry sounds inspired. the capital theater was a great theater for the dead and jgb but maybe a little intimidating for a solo artist, but this sounds great, thanks 😊
The whole show film/video used to be on TH-cam. Does anyone know where the whole show is available now (meaning the film/video, not just the audio)? I can only find Ripple and Reuben and Cherish videos now. Thanks

Freight train into oh babe? It's like the two songs belong together! I now pronounce you freight train and oh babe. You may now bless my ears. 😊

The only JG solo show from what I understand- TYTYTY Gnu!
I'd read that he got John Kahn to join him immediately after this show.
