  • The red deer has been often portrayed as a hormone-crazed, roaring stag, fighting for females in the autumn - but what it does for the rest of the year is mostly overlooked. Hidden cameras provide unusual insights into the secret lives of the red deer, show rare pictures of their births, film them at a dance and prove that, even in death the so called ’King of the forest’ can hardly be defeated.

Do you believe in the Creator who created these species so that they can come back and be seen like this?

How often could you encounter this seemingly unrivaled & incomparable wildlife doc. as regards red deer in the eastern Germany that is not only educational & informative but also superb, superlative, & sublime like nothing else in the whole world! They usually portray those stags as Testosterone-charged aggressive deer fighting for a hind in the fall or autumn, but how they live for the rest of year is not well known; thanks to this doc., I was able to see that rare footages of their births, their existence in the water, the survival from the constant threats by wolves, etc. or I've gained new & better insights into their conduct & life in the east of Germany. So my heartfelt gratitude to you all concerned in the creation,,,,Soundly enjoyed, admired, & appreciated it to the fullest at the opulent comfort of my residence.,,,(05/03/24)

The Red Deer (Cervus elaphus) is a large deer species native only to Europe, it is the third largest of the six extant deer species belonging to the Cervus genus with only the Elk (Cervus canadensis) and Hangul (Cervus hanglu) both being larger and also being the fourth largest extant deer species in the world, there are ten recognized red deer subspecies under two subspecies groups: the Cervus elaphus hippelaphus group (Southern Red Deer) that contains the Crimean Red Deer (Cervus elaphus brauneri), the Pannonian Red Deer (Cervus elaphus pannoniensis), the Alpine Red Deer (Cervus elaphus hippelaphus), the Mesola Red Deer (Cervus elaphus italicus), and the Iberian Red Deer (Cervus elaphus hispanicus) and the Cervus elaphus elaphus group (Northern Red Deer) that contains the Swedish Red Deer (Cervus elaphus elaphus), the Norwegian Red Deer (Cervus elaphus atlanticus), the Scottish Red Deer (Cervus elaphus scoticus), the English Red Deer (Cervus elaphus englandensis), and the Irish Red Deer (Cervus elaphus hibernicus).
