UPDATE - June 2022, 4 years later and pavement still holding up well. Some cracks and settling but after seal coating and minor tar snakes and some small patches, it's looking just about brand new still. 0:18 - prep starts, 5:00 - asphalt starts, 11:05 - crazy cloudburst thunderstorm, 12:35 - quitting time, 12:53 - rain again, 12:59 - rain forms streams and steam on new hot asphalt, 13:33 - steam devil ("dust devil", but of steam), 14:00 - more stream devils.
NY. It still gets really hot some days but normally it's much cooler than GA, especially southern GA. The nice thing is this giant slab of pavement creates it's own weather patterns so there's at least always a breeze. 😆
No.. 70 years of hard packed gravel and they prepped everywhere with modified or whatever they call it. You can't even dig this earth with a shovel around here. Even with a pickax you can't get very far down by hand.. It's hard, rocky earth.
It goes by how many square feet it is but also type of pavement used and how thick they lay it down and probably a lot of other variables. Just not sure.
I just don't understand why every video of a driveway company paving not a single one pushes the truck , instead it's stop and go paving taking dumps ..... push the truck and limit the stopping
LOL! Yeah I cut a lot out of them waiting for the pavement trucks to come in from quite a distance away. It was cool to see how the rain formed little streams too. And there were some dust devils, or I guess "steam devils" - little vortexes of steam forming in the wind. Glad I stuck the cam out there!

I don't know what the summer temps are in your area but here in South Georgia, that would be a very long hot walk to the garage.
