We made bad decisions on Watkins 😭 everytime I captain him, he doesn't return, but when he is not captained or not held he performs 😭🤬🔥

Nice one! Hard to weigh up how much weight to put on the finals. I feel from memory they usually disappoint for points. Apart from maybe the World Cup game final.
But then you look at city vs how United have been playing….
Still got my 12th man left and thinking about popping it this week on either Gordon or Jackson??? I’ve bottled 1st place in my mini league after being top all season but didnt have Haaland last week, and of course my rival had him captain. Still got 2nd place to battle for though? My current team (after 2 transfers) is: Raya, White, Gvardy, Konsa, de Bruyne, Saka, Palmer, Foden, Son, Haaland, Isak.

Great pod again mate! We’ve actually got the same lineup at the moment. I’m looking at Watkins & Gabriel out for Jackson & Walker. Currently 46th 22points off top 21. If it was you, would you go all or nothing and pick a differential captain instead of Haaland or play out the game normally which got me here? I’m thinking Cold Palmer for Captain this week to bridge the gap!

Yeah if you’re not bothered about your rank I guess you may as well go for it at this point 😁 it’s within touching distance if captaincy goes your way. I’m sure that what the other tonic lads would say as well.
After last week tho we do know the risks 😂
If it goes wrong at the end for the season doesn’t make much difference if you come 46th or 146th. Unless you’re playing for your best ever finish etc
Cheers mate ! I went for Palmer in the end, so far so good. I went on a night out and surfaced after the deadline so luckily didnt have the stress of the decision it was made for me 😂 Got lucky with Walker coming on though cause I missed your DT Tonic pod !

Hey Scott, was thinking of parking the bus this week and looking for 2 high ceiling defenders. I’ve got Gabriel, white, Ederson and Dalot. Prolly taking out Watkins and Bruno so plenty of cash. Any recommendations mate?
Hi mate remember Ederson doesn't count towards the extra points.
They probably don't have the best attacking upside but i'd just get Gvardiol and Walker in. Likely to play both and Gvardiol been decent for attacking returns lately.

Yeah I like it actually, will be differential. Both great players. I wasn't 100% sure if he was fit as there was a rumour going round. But it sounds like he's fine now.
Excellent content as ever Scott! I’ve been following your pod since Christmas and I’m currently in 317th position overall and the best part of 300 points clear at the top of my money league!
This week I’m definitely dropping Watkins and currently deciding on Son/Isak/Jackson as replacement.
I kept Salah in my team last week and also am stuck with VVD and Konsa along with White in defence. I was originally thinking Konsa to Gvardiol, but I’m very tempted to leave my defence as is and drop Salah for a Son/Isak/Jackson…. Help! 😂

I would probably just move out Watkins for one of the better doubling strikers and then use the other move on defence to Gvardiol. Still think Salah could do well against Villa considering the goals they've been conceding! Then his final game of the season is pretty good too.
I’m still behind by 20-25 in my cash league but top 2 are still stacked on Arsenal. I’m basically all in on City (have 7 atm), only issue is Dias who hasn’t featured last couple but stupid to swap for another City defender, I think!
Ah mate I remember your Dias question was hard! And still not clarity on it really is there. You just know you take him out pep will start him 😅 if you had nothing else to do you could swap to Walker/Gvard but maybe in the double dias will get something surely
So glad I kept Salah in at weekend, I just knew they’d be a reaction from him after the incident with Klopp and I didn’t trust Fernandes being fit 🤣 my plans this week are out Salah Watkins in Jackson Isak my team

My plans for last weekend round of games out White Martinez in Ortega Walker, should have in my team then all bankers I’d say will start for City in FA Cup final, any other player your massively playing Pep roulette 😬
YeH he looked brilliant, surely he starts the remaining no need for rests now but can see why you’d go for doublers.

I’m the same - working towards 11 doubles for FA cup - which def to go - Dias or ake? (Already have walker Gvardiol) . I feel Dias surely is first choice but just has battled illness
Oooh that's really hard... I think i'd maybe just go Ake. I thought the same as you with Dias but seems a bit odd. If you go Ake at least you know if Gvardiol gets a rest Ake probably is the replacement too!

I went early on Man City and now have 6 of them.
4 transfers left and I can field 10 in GW37 to try and overtake you.
I just hope the long term plan doesn’t give you too much distance short term 😁👍

Bruno is a hold I think for two reasons:
1. GW37 in the back of the mind
2. Does a player coming in outscore him across the next 3GWs because that’s what you’re banking on.
Tough decisions but ones that have left us both scratching at the top100 😁👍
Hi m8 I'm after your advice I'm using park the bus this week I'm currently top of my league, but the top 3 are very tight & I know that we're all going to use park the bus this week, I've currently got White, Robertson, walker, Gvardiol & Akanji as my defence would you swap 1 of the man city boys out 4 a another Arsenal defender or keep it how it is, your advice has served me well so far 👌💪💪

Nope I would keep that as it is I think. Having the 3 City in place will help you out later on with City having more games and you can gradually get White and Robbo out. I reckon just go for it mate. Cheers for watching

Saka and Gabriel out this week. Isak and Bernardo Silva in. Scored 135 points last week with only 8 players playing in my team. Only a handful of points behind you Scott.

I am on holiday in Cyprus. I read Saka is injured. Thinking Saka has only one game and Bernado has 4 games

Hi Scott. Currently sitting 443 with Watkins still to play. Thankfully opted for Haaland captaincy instead of the Watkins double so benefitted there. This stage of the season it can be marginal decisions that can make the difference and I've often been on the wrong side of them. Transfers this week, for me Watkins is now a priority sell and it's a toss up between Son and Isak but slightly favouring Son with the Burnley & Sheffield United fixtures and like you my next move is dependant on news on Fernanades. Part of me doesn't want to take him out because of the number of fixtures and the Cup Final but if he's not scoring points he's become a liability to the team and arguably the only United player you'd want in GW37 although I'm also stuck with Onana now and don't envisage wasting a transfer to change him. I think there's a danger you get blinded by the Cup Final and miss out on players who can get you more points in the next couple of gameweeks . I think as long as you've got the main City players that most of us have already got and add maybe another City defender plus Rodri or Bernardo you'll be fine.
Haha yeah I feel like it would have been so typical if I went for Haaland and Watkins banged I’d be saying why didn’t I go for the obvious doubler 🙄 how it goes sometimes!
Yes the Bruno thing is frustrating as he felt good for the season. Every move away from a 37 sort of feels like wasting 2 transfers.
I think it would be unforgivable if I took the chance again this week then missed out on a double. Missing the single son pts last week felt bad enough.
I do agree with the cup final tho. It could easily be a 1-0/2-1 where you get a Kovacic/Doku goal for example and you come away with not much… but appearance pts should help over those that didn’t plan. Shame to miss hauls in this double to get a Rodri/Bernardo early tho haha
I'm using my max captain and thinking do I go Watkins and Bruno out for isak and Jackson just for the attacking side or Bruno and dalot out for isak and gvardiol what do you think ?

If you're unsure on bruno tho then could sell him instead

I know Dalot has got the extra fixtures but at this point id maybe just bin him for a city defender 😂 or you could replace Watkins with another striker, Jackson/Son

So maybe it's not worth making a goal keeper change.
Watkins to Son looks fine. I'd maybe take Saliba out for Walker instead get your extra City in that way.

Recently I’ve quite liked the link up of White/Saka so think I’d keep white and hope for double whammy if white assists Saka or the other way around. So probably take out Gabriel.

@claret2007tom Likely comes down to where people are in mini leagues at this point. Haaland will be the safest play if leading or playing for rank. Couldn’t believe what we were seeing last week 😂

Unfortunately I didn’t get round to putting Gvardiol in so he’ll be my second transfer then just city boys after that. I’ve got Son and plan to keep him in. So 3 players I’d want to move on would be Watkins,Bruno and Martinez as he’s flagged injured … my immediate no brainer would be Watkins out for Jackson or Isak as for the second im not sure move Bruno on? Bring in Benardo or Saka again🙄 Or do i switch Martinez out
Gutting mate, I can't believe how bad the Watkins one went.
It's hard Bruno apparently back in training today, for my team i'm tempted just to keep him and hope he plays and gets the final too in 37.
But trying to choose a new goal keeper isn't exactly inspiring is it. Onana has the most games and gets saves but very low upside transfer.
I think at this point you probably go towards City if choosing a mid for the extra 2 games.
Tough decisions though mate. Probably keep your plan to yourself 🤫 coming down to the wire 😬 Best of luck!
