The music used from 1985 to 1995 by far was the best. Some of these opens I've never seen before. Virgil Dominic did one fantastic job running WJW during his tenure.
I think the last "The One For All" era intro is the first I've seen any footage of Virgil Dominic anchoring at WJ(K)W. My guess is he was probably subbing for Tim Taylor
@@hrtvfan2870 the reason why Virgil was filling in was because of a strike at WJW. Virgil is the brainchild of the branding "Cleveland's Own". After almost 35 years it is still going strong.
i dont mean to be offtopic but does anybody know of a trick to log back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the login password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
@Cole Harvey I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm in the hacking process now. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
There are 2 Denise D.'s that anchored at WJW at one time or another: Denise D'Ascenzo (at WJW from 1982-1986, then at WFSB here in Hartford from 1986 until her sudden death on December 7, 2019), and more recently, Denise Dufala (at WJW from 1988 to 1994, then at WOIO 19 from the start of their news operation as part of their switch with WJW to CBS until 2016).
i remember as a kid seeing the new opening aired for the first time in 2007 and remember bill martin talking about the new graphics as the news started.
Amazing! Hopefully, to distinguish it from WDTN, which used the FOX-1 graphics in modified/generic form (NDC-3), WJW might got the MOD-1/KOIN graphics package.
Does any Clevender remember what was the name of the news on 1420 WHK radio when Tim Taylor anchored the news there at 55 past the hour? I can't think of the name of the news program.
WJW, the Fox affiliate in Cleveland OH, is owned by Nexstar Media Group. WJW is the sister station to NBC affiliate WCMH in Columbus, NBC affiliate WDTN and CW affiliate WBDT in Dayton, CBS affiliate WKBN, Fox affiliate WYFX, and ABC/MyNetworkTV affiliate WYTV in Youngstown, and CBS/MyNetworkTV/ABC affiliate WTRF in Steubenville. WJW will soon be the sister station to independent station WBNX in Cleveland. Starting September 1st, 2025, the CW returns to WBNX.
No, its more like 12 years since they've changed there set and graphics, now I say graphics because even though they updated the opens various times even with them playing around with the "Cleveland's Own" and "Cleveland" every once in a while in the opens unlike most Fox O&O Stations that were sold to Tribune they continued to keep the Fox O&O graphics and they looked ugly even when the lower thirds that were updated in 2016 were ugly and the open that they updated in 2016 which was a change showing hope that they were becoming those other former Fox O&Os that were sold an updating to the FOX 2010 O&O look (which those others had updated to years ago), but the open was the only thing they updated, they still kept those ugly updated lower thirds. So this new look and graphics is really good and a blessing.
We're Cleveland's Own. WJW-TV Channel 8. TV8. (1986-1993).

WOW! I love the beginning of the city camera news opens with the late great Jeff Maynor. One of the best Cleveland newsmen.

WTRF's studios are in Wheeling, WV, but I see why you listed them as in Steubenville since they serve that area, too.
@@GeekGameCulture that's because it's in Ohio
When I was born, I had no idea that WJW8 was FOX O&O.
I was there before the change in 2019.
