Bought both at the same time. Xtreme 3 gets louder and more punchier where as the xtreme 2 gets loud but you feel wanting more. Xtreme 3 can also be tweaked in the app so you can make it sound more warmer like xtreme 2 if that’s ur debate. ( xtreme 2 sounds can’t be adjusted ) Xtreme 3 is also noticeably lighter and that’s a big thing no one talks about. The charger is smaller and more compact. The door to get to the usb and charge points is easier to open on the xtreme 3. The xtreme 3 is the better speaker and can get louder but cost about 100$ more at this point in time. Hope this helps
Good upgrade of sound for x3.. From x2 which sounds natural, the music instruments sounds and blends well going to x3 that has deeper bass and excel on electronic sounds

Unless you need to carry it over your shoulder I would sugges considering the Sony XB43 instead. After watching comparison videos it seems to be just as good as the JBL xtreme. I bought a Sony XB43 for a third of the price compared to the JBL and the Sony has both an equilzer app plus a jack port for audio in which the JBL dosent. Just an advice. Great video though.

yeah the woofers are different, both have 2×70mm, but the Xtreme 3 ones have neodymium magnets while the Xtreme 2 are in Ferrite; in fact the Xt3 weights like half a kilo less. Thanks to smaller magnets the 3 also has more air inside, and that probably makes a difference too in sound. Tweeters look pretty much the same.
If the xtreme 3 and charge 5 are not far from performance according to “wanna buy it” then get the charge 5. I’m going to do all kinds of tests with the charge 5 and xtreme 3
Wanna buy it..... I'm not a fan of jbl extreme.. if easily take the w king x10 over both these.... BUT..... I got my hands on the jbl 110 partybox about a month ago and it is easily and I mean easily the best bt speaker I've ever heard!!!!! It's a beast!!!!!! On sidenote man also just grabbed the edifier neobuds pro and they're unreal!!! Phenomenal pair of earbuds and they haven't even gotten the ldac update yet but swear I'm hearing stuff in songs I've never heard before and the anc and transparency are great... no bs I'd take em over sennheiser momentum 2 and the galaxy buds pro!!!! Yeah the X3 clarity was a bit better. But when playing this two through that day it was hard to pick honestly I would tell ppl to by the X2 because X3 is over priced

should go with a xtreme 2. for $100 difference. not worth it at all...
i like that you did a blind test. makes the end result feel more genuine because i know as a viewer that you're focused on the sound.
Luv my Extreme 2 beautiful sound. Frequencies all balanced. Clean crisp sound. Never change. Listen to Cusco sound is rich and full.
Could've felt like the xtream 2 was surrounding you more because it was facing you while the xtream e wasn't
