- Making an OMINOUS "Drone" with NTS-1 and PO-35 Speak!
Today I'm once again working on the Halloween Concert, and I found the need for an ominous sounding C sharp drone/bass. I figured we'd bust out the PO-35 Speak alongside the Korg NTS-1 and see what we could come up with! Enjoy the video, and I hope to see you at the concert!

Dude you are literally a fucking genius
Haha I don't know about that, but thanks!
Keep piping these things through more things. I love it.
You're getting some great stuff, almost Pink Floydian with some of those sounds!
Glad you liked it! I was definitely feeling some Pink Floyd vibes as well haha
That is SUCH a good idea! Never thought to use it like that! Slap some heavy reverb and this thing is a very unique little done machine. Imagining all the creepy gibberish and unique stuff you can turn into drones... Gonna have to dust this thing off
Yeah! The NTS-1 is so versatile, it can completely transform just about any instrument you can plug into it haha. Thanks for watching!
Nice sound!
Thanks Vic!
That Sound!
The 5ths yeah that’s it, I need to really sit down with the Speak,
I bought the Speak because it was the final PO to complete the set. Lol
I was also swayed by some very cool TH-cam’s, I’m also a big fan of vocorders
Great topic, I’m going to try that later
Make sure you have either a TH-cam tutorial or the manual next to you when you sit down to spend some time with it. There's a lot of hidden features and a lot of nuance that most people blow right past!
This got me thinking if the Speak can fulfill what the Sub can do in terms of creating deep synth sounds. Or do you think it’ll sound too “vocal-ly”, like you’ve mentioned in the video?
With the right sample and the right tweaking it can definitely hold its own in the low end. Especially if you have some decent effects. I like to think of the speak as a lead and bass synthesizer above all else!
