Please come here in Philippines, let's find the Yamashita treasure,we have a suspected site somewhere in Masbate,we dig it already, and we found a man-made tunnel.,hope to hear from you soon.
I live in northern UK we live in a 270 yr old weavers cottage we have fields at side I've found all sorts but my best coin is an Elizabeth 1st silver groat 4 pence 1558 Not brill condition but I found it 400 yards from my front door 35 yrs ago someone found a Saxon dagger in the field I'm sure it was a Saxon enclave so well see Cleaning silver best stuff is tooth paste Good hunting
I built an off grid cabin bordering a national forest and within a few miles of a civil war battleground. The old turnpike through the mountains was part of the road leading to my property . I found lots of old treasures including a civil war era pistol that I donated along with many other cool finds to the civil war museum at the local state park . I was antique crazy for years unfortunately someone broke into my cabin stealing and destroying so I lost most of my finds . These videos remind me of the excitement I felt finding these lost treasures . Thanks for sharing I really enjoy your work sharing the history and excitement of the find .
I have been into watching the explore abandoned places for the last year, and now have moved on to watching people go metal detecting. I just found your channel last night and would like to thank you for having such great camera work. The camera is being held steady, and the close ups in the field are top notch. I enjoy that you spliced in the really clean close ups of the coins as well. You have a personality and voice that are perfect for this. I am so glad I found your channel. Its funny, but as kids in the 70s we went exploring old homesteads but we didn't have cameras or metal detectors. I once found an old beer stein but my ex took it when we split up.
We were dredging the ocean off of NJ and pumping the sand up on the beach, we ran into a large clump of Spanish 8 reale coins, the size of silver dollars. I have 1 that has absolutely no sand blasting on it from 1771. Hundreds of them were found.
Don Rutter that’s amazing! Could you share what beach by any chance? Unless it’s a secret. I totally understand if that’s the case, but it’s a bucket list item for me to find.
I hiked the western part of Virginia in the early eighties and with my trusty metal detector I was adjacent to the appliation trail. The one that goes a thousand miles east coast. And found countless buttons, hand forged spikes, square nails and countless coins, a rather small metal bar that originally I thought it was lead much later I found out someone had sprayed it silver and after it had been it my tool box I discovered that it was a roughly made gold bar and it had a value of $2300.00
What a spectacularly Historic Colonial home site Brad. The Occupation of that home dates to before the French and Indian War to after the birth of the United States of America. Not many have studied history, to know that the King of England reserved the right of coin mintage in its colonies to Britain itself, in an effort to control the trade of its Colonies. Because of lack of coinage, barter and letters of mark were often used. Because of lack of banks, family wealth was accumulated and retained in Precious Metals, mostly silver. Illegally printed or minted currency in the British colonies was always backed by Spanish Milled Dollars, the Reale or the piece of 8 and its fractionals. The Spanish Silver from the oldest mint in the New World was legal tender in the United States until the 1850s. You can expect that Spanish Silver came to VT by way of the Caribbean (Sugar Islands) in trade for sugar products such as Rum and Molasses. Those were super finds Brad ! Two Half Bit coins, a British Copper and a US half cent ! Your finds span a very historic time period in Vermont. From when it was known as the "Grants", to the Republic of Vermont, and finally to the State of Vermont. Thank you for sharing my friend. :-))
Excellent comment. Allow me to add a thought. Most of these cellar holes Brad finds can date to ex French and Indian war veterans who had been paid off in scarce currency and land grants. Hence the spanish silver in their pockets as they built their humble cabins.
1 Minute in & already noticing the amount of effort you put into your videos. Music, camera angles, clearing paths and scanning fast! I didn't even know American half cents existed.
These are the kind of videos that I love to see. I just found this one while scrolling through looking for something else. The button was really cute and those Spanish coins were fantastic to see. Oh i love the buckle. I have friends that go out and hunt like this. Never been with them but wish I could have. I love this video. thank you. glad I found you.
Outstanding video!! Your research sure did pay off for you during this hunt!!! I get goosebumps just watching the video. I couldn't imagine what it would feel like to dig those reales!!
Brad I always get excited to see a new video, You should have a lot more subscribers You are digging up real history. Also all the effort in to filming, editing. And the finds, nothing phony about them. Thanks for sharing.
I just this evening found this channel, so glad to be a subscriber .Aquachigger & nugget noggin are two that I've watch for years ,so now I have three ! SCORES
I love watching these kinds of digs from the North East, because out here in California, a 1960 penny is considered 'old'! Anything from the 1800th century is unheard of!
Brad, you're quickly becoming my favorite TH-camr... "I can't believe it," he casually remarked while cleaning the silver coin from the Eighteenth century. "No way, it's another half Reale," he...exclaimed...sedately. I literally shouted for joy when I recently found my first few IHPs. Montana is so young in comparison that I may never break 1900.
Haha Thanks Shane, I'm not really a shouter but hopefully my excitement came through in this video, I was certainly shaking and very happy with the day!!
Actually Spain conquered and settled in what is know today as Mexico . Mexico was actually included most of california and texas including other states , thats why there are so many Spanish names all over the the U.S. A great part of the U.S. was actually part of the Spanish Empire that later turned to Mexico and likely currency was printed in Mexico city when it wasnt yet called Mexico, more like Spanish headquarters . Part of Spain's conquest agenda was the conversion of the indigineous people of the region to catholicism, hence so many spanish names all over. Capitol of California =Sacramento = meaning Sacrament. San Francisco = meaning St Francis so on and so forth. Later U.S. Mexico, Guatemala, Costarica, Honduras , El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama, Colombia, Venezula Argentina the list goes on, "ALL SPAIN" found independece progresively through different times and circumstances.
yeah, it's reeeeally spooky to imagine who/how/when someone lost those coins and buttons and buckles... so long ago! and who made all that stuff, and it was brand new at one point...amazing!
Awesome video brother, great finds as well. Its good to see people travel deep in the forests/mountains to metal detect cause alotta folks i know are skeptical on it, as for me i do the same thing. i travel deep in he bush on 4 wheeler...
Great finds! Hubby said we have a better chance for Spanish Coins than you! I grew up in Vermont, now live on the Treasure Coast of Florida. He’s still looking!! All the Best!
Very interesting and exciting finds. I have not metal detected before, but it certainly does seem like an exciting hobby especially when you have days like that!
Hey Brad, All I can say is WOW!! Oh man, I bet Eddie is bummed. Awesome charm too it's so pretty maybe from an earring? The stone from my view doesn't look scratched that's amazing maybe it's not glass! : D Jewelry with Glass stones will scratch easily and this piece has been in the ground for many many years looks too smooth to be glass,I'm thinking it could be a sapphire!... I'm not gemologist but I do loooove jewelry. LOL Excellent video Happy Hunting Good Luck on the next one. Marty aka Michele
Recently discovered your channel. I'm watching all of them. Feel like I'm right there with you. I live in Georgia and have not visited Vermont, but it is incredibly beautiful. Thanks for taking me along on your exciting adventures.
I thought the exact same thing! I seen a video once, and the guy walked over a chunk of perfectly square concrete buried in a field at an old home site, the top was flush with the ground. He walked right over it. And decided to detect and look under it on the way out on a whim... And found a old broken glass jar with gold coins in it from the 1800's!!! Also, in other videos ive seen, more then a few too.. People look for the biggest tree in the area they are in and usually find stuff buried around the base of it...Cause Back in the day, places like these are easy for people to remember and find if they ever had to leave and come back to find thier stash.. They would never find it if they chose a random place out in the field, but a white rock like that or a huge tree is always easy to find your way back to. . So ALWAYS check spots like these
But mr. Limpdickit, he said there isnt any other quartz around the area he is in. And its the only one there, its so out of place. Which tells me somebody put it there. And If there was gold nuggets in the area, he would of found some. And the eastern gold is hard to find cause there isnt much there, hence why everyone came out west to get it
Awesome finds! So glad I discovered your channel. I found an 1846 half cent in Maine a few years back on our Island camp. I dream up all kinds of scenarios of how it got lost. Keep them coming!
Ahh....1783. 1783 was a very good year. The Montgolfier brothers went up in their first hot air balloon. Mozart wrote his great mass. And England recognized the independence of the United States.
That was a truly amazing hunt, congratulations on your coin finds. In southern Indiana we have nothing that old. Mid 1800's is even hard to find here. Great job on the quality of the video too. GL&HH
In the middle of nowhere with you.....already a treasure 😏 I loved the little butterfly insert. Your enthusiasm is very infectious....you are fun to watch.
My friend said I should always answer the comments on my videos if I want to grow my channel. I think your channel disproves that theory. Nice finds mate.
Coins, buttons and buckles oh my!! Ridiculously great hunt!! Your commentary is top notch, love your videos. Keep doing what you do,your videos are the best! Oh and a huge congrats on your reales and half cent!!
Wow your editing is cool! I'm really enjoying your videos. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us and for taking the extra time to edit like you do! WAY awesome! Seriously - the best I've seen in metal detecting which is exciting anyway! It's Christmas in July!
Man, you absolutely killed it out there this time.. awesome relics and coins! Makes me want to dig every single signal..lol 😎 Congratulations on a spectacular hunt. You definitely need to get back there and see what else comes up...take care and thanks for sharing!
Great video! Found the same silver coin (1776 Hispana "dime size coin") in the upper Hudson valley along the bank of a pond hand dug by slaves. Also we also found King George coppers at a site reported to an old fur traders shack. Really puts one's imagination into gear!
I can't believe you found those. I detect all the time and the oldest I've ever got was 1899. I live in Massachusetts 20 minutes from Plymouth Massachusetts. I guess I need to do way more homework before going out. Good finds keep up the excellent work.
Friends dad was not only into metal detecting, but gold panning and scuba diving with a dredge hose in various rivers. He not only hit the ghost towns and mines in Calif. & Nevada, but also abandoned garbage dumps and places where sheep herders would graze their sheep. Couldn't believe the amount of stuff he'd found...like dog tags from the 20's which he said he could sell for $20 each, different kinds of bottles and in different colors from being out in the sun for decades. He had a lot of gold coins....showed me 6 boxes of coins he was going to put in his banks safety deposit box. Each box held at least 60 coins and of course, each coin had its own protective sleeve. He and his friend went out somewhere in the Calif. desert, with his friends wife with them. His friend had bought his wife a good metal detector and showed her how to use it. She started playing with it as soon as they arrived at the spot and ends up finding a dozen $20 gold pieces in a leather bag under a rock?! Oh yeah, she was hooked now.
Because of the diversity of nationality of coinage you found on this dig could it be plausible that this site could be a trading post? I am lead to this conclusion also by the lack of household items.
I'm trying to visualize the person who was wearing it back then and how she must have searched and searched for it. Too bad MD'ing wasn't invented yet. :~] I would be interested in what Brad finds out about it.
Hopefully Brad looks into it! Seems the setting appears to be antique....maybe late 1800's/early 1900's? I was thinking too it might be clear quartz chrystal.
Killer music, Brad! I even speed it up to 1.5 and it sounds very cool IMO. Thoroughly enjoy your searches, locations, and finds. I know I have to deal with iron and nails under the locations of buildings. My Nokta G Kruzer does pretty good to show me both good and bad targets together. Bull Quartz is a good place to detect for gold. The more mineralized (red/brown/dirty looking) the better.
You've outdone yourself this time! Congrats. I've only met one guy who's dug a real, he was a contractor and said he found it in a basement excavation. Awesome to find two at one site.
Interested in seeing MORE "Pirate Treasure" dug from the mountains of Vermont? How about the GOLD kind?

Finding artifacts is not only amazing, but also profitable! In Russia, I earn $ 5,000 on finds!
It proves what I learned when i was digging: put in enough time and good days happen. Congratulations.
Catching up on some of your old videos. What an EPIC DAY! WOW

x2big4u amazing. Thank you. Think it’s worth trying metal detecting there? Was it on the beach of corsins inlet?

Thanks again for the well written and thoughtful comment, Joe! Always a treat to read!
Thank you so much "A Friend." I was just about to ask ...
"Republic of Vermont"? Like in Republic of Texas? I'll have to read up on that interesting fact.
Awesome finds Brad! How exciting! Thanks for sharing. 🕊
Can't believe the age of some stuff you pull out! One of the best detecting channels on TH-cam for Sure.
Thank you for the videos!!
Thanks Adam, I really appreciate it!!
What a great day hunting. Very nice silver and the colonial shoe buckle. Awesome finds. Keep the videos coming.

Oh My, I share your excitement! I need to get back out metal detecting😋!

spent all weekend watching your videos, now I want to start metal detecting!
Awesome, Buddy! You totally should!
Maybe that was a trading post back in the day. Great finds. We want a return visit.
Congrats, what a great hunt! Awesome coins, lots of great buttons, a perfect intact buckle, other buckles...wow!

Just started detecting and you’re so fun to watch. Thx for the content!
I would like to think that the guy who lived there was a sailor that travelled the world, and brought home coins from all of his adventures.
In colonial times before America minted their own coins spanish Reals and British coins were commonly used.
Actually Spain conquered and settled in what is know today as Mexico . Foreign couns, especially silver, we're used as currency in the Colonies until we minted US coins.
Dude, what a great site for treasures. That would be a great time to spend the weekend out there. keep on swinging
Writing a story about the place in my mind! Great video and awesome finds, thank you.

Wow, what a great hunt and some super finds. Congrats on your silver Reale's. I would definitely go back there. Take care and HH. Jim
you are like the Mr.Rogers of metal detecting... I enjoy your work.

Thanks so much for coming along, Sandra!
Wow! Amazing hunt! Congrats on the Spanish Silvers!
What can I say another simply amazing hunt! You guys are incredible.
Great hunt!! I'd check under that quartz rock. Seems it could mark a buried box.........better check!! Bring the GPR device...
I'd be taking that quartz rock home to put in the flower garden.
I thought the exact same thing! I seen a video once, and the guy walked over a chunk of perfectly square concrete buried in a field at an old home site, the top was flush with the ground. What they didn't have Velcro?🙀
Mr. Beepers not only that, but quartz carries gold! and i believe the eastern gold belt runs through there.....
But mr. Limpdickit, he said there isnt any other quartz around the area he is in. And its the only one there, its so out of place. Which tells me somebody put it there. And If there was gold nuggets in the area, he would of found some. And the eastern gold is hard to find cause there isnt much there, hence why everyone came out west to get it
I love your action shots when you rest camera...makes me feel like I am there!
When you take the coin out, there's another coin still in the hole
Awesome finds! So glad I discovered your channel. I found an 1846 half cent in Maine a few years back on our Island camp. I dream up all kinds of scenarios of how it got lost. Keep them coming!
Thanks a lot Jim!!
I had no idea Macklemore metal detected, word to thrift shop!

Very cool finds!! What equipment are you using? This is the first video of yours I've watched. Thanks for the good content
Awesome finds! GMD is my favorite!
I'm going treasure hunting and it's were pirates settled

Really puts one's imagination into gear!
Awesome Terry, it sure does!!
I'm sure you know that Spanish coins were common currency in early colonial days.
And yet still rare to find
I can't believe you found those. I detect all the time and the oldest I've ever got was 1899. I live in Massachusetts 20 minutes from Plymouth Massachusetts. I guess I need to do way more homework before going out. Good finds keep up the excellent work.
Plymouth should be an amazing place to detect, I'm sure you'll find some old stuff if you keep at it! Thanks for watching and good luck!
Your channel is great.
I fixed your channel on the recommended ones. If you want to do the same

Could be! Thanks for the post!
Wow. Awesome. Thanks for bringing us along. Love the Colonial stuff.

Thanks for coming along, Mr. Digger!!
Cool finds! I am interested in knowing more about the pendant you found. I wonder if it's an un-faceted diamond?
Muito bom
