I was facing the issue of MIL(Malfunction indicator lamp) glowing on my motorcycle on multiple occasions and each time I went to royal Enfield service center there is no error code registered in the ECU Diagnostic tool(Dol too). This kept glowing for few kms and the shut off on its own. Last time this kept on for 2 days Straight and then I decide to try some solutions and this one worked. Point to note here is that the engine is always running good even with MIL on. I just simply clean some of the dirt and excessive grease from the fuel pump relay to increase the metal to metal contact of relay points, and this loved the issue for me. There are various kind of grease depending on physical properties. There is one kind of grease which is electrically conductive. One such product is: MG Chemicals - 846-Carbon Conductive Grease. Unfortunately, it is not available in Amazon India but this is the one that is required. It needs to imported from US. However, thermally conductive grease are available in India. Those are basically Silver epoxy based compound. I don't have much idea about electrical conduction property of those!

All lights are working fine and so is the battery and fuses but I still need to check the gear problem and the chain as you mentioned in one of your videos. Thanks.

I can feel it all on my legs.. anything I can do to reduce the heating? And the amount of heat hitting my legs keeps varying as I ride.. (during evening 6-7 PM rides) does your bike also heat up so much?

Had the same problem for several months, it goes on and went off. Service center say nothing was wrong, i did check oil level (it may be that in some cases) but nothing there. Then i found your video and then remember i had a previous problem with those relay ( my bike didnt wan't to start cause of fuel relay) i switched it with the extra relay and the MIL went off, . Nota bene, buy some extra relay in case of, and thanks for your video :)
Paaji, thank you, this video saved me. Now i have a different problem altogether. The bike runs fine without any problems whatsoever for the most part. But after a long ride, when slowing down the low oil pressure light comes and bike stalls abruptly.
The low oil pressure light is a scary light. If this one comes on, one has to shut the vehicle engine off, call the RSA and get your vehicle towed to nearest service center. Atleast, one could check the engine oil level while stranded at the side of road. If it is low, somehow tow/manually roll the vehicle to nearest petrol pump, get the correct engine oil and top it up. If this solves the problem, get the engine oil changed asap later on.

Hey mate, don’t decrease the grease just replace it with some better grease. I have some grease for the spark plug and spark cap ( a little expensive) but It will help the current to flow and avoid rusting . Pure grease will avoid rusting but the current flow get blocked. I don’t know which grease RE are using and I am hoping it is not a normal grease
Yes i am looking for acf 50 spry or something similar but things are not available currently in local market. But Re has really overdone it and it also attracts dust.

I have an issue with my gt650, my abs light stays on even after a new modulator was replaced three weeks ago, and after 40 minutes of riding the bike gets very warm, the instrument cluster backlight turns off, but when I stop the bike it turns back on, then the engine starts to idle at 2k rpm and acceleration has lag. Any idea what it might be?
I can see that you have stiffened up the rear shock absorber by three notches. Any particular reason for that? There are many well defined procedures for adjusting the preload. I guess that you have followed one or is the setting completely random?
Only stiffened one notch above the stock setup. It gave me better stability and handling at high speed specially in corners. You need to try different settings to see what suits u.
Would you be able to help me with another problem please? My rear brake is not braking like it should.. I mean even though I’m pressing it the bike is not stopping as it should.. and this is after I gave it for servicing yesterday evening and got it today morning. The service centre guys are telling me, it’s due to polish and you ride it for 10 kms it will be fine after that.. what should I do? I saw your video on cleaning the disks with Acetone or paint Thinner to remove excess grease, should I try that? 😊
Yes clean the disc with acetone, rubbing alcohol, paint thinner anything or if u don't have it use dish wash liquid and the green spong to clean. They must have cleaned the disc with the polishing cloth or sprayed chain lube on it. Clean it properly and it should be fine. If needed clean the pads too. Nut first clean the disc. And in future don't let them polish the motorcycle.
Some good tips I had a problem with my fuel pump not running properly and cleaned the relay and it was sorted out I think ROYAL Enfield over did it with the grease 🤣 Will keep waching your video's 👍🇬🇧
I have same issue Like my interceptor is running fine without any problem but engine sign showing continuously, then i visited re service center, they connected there dol tool, in dol tool also my bike didnt show, then what the problem would be.
@@kushalranpara5202 do what i did here in this video and hopefully it will be resolved. If not then get new relays. These stock relays have too much grease on it and also the quality of relays are not upto mark.

@@AJIERROCONELLA it went away the first time only. You can try to swap the fuel pump relay with the spare relay and see if ut help or get a new relay from market. Check the updated relay vdo i have made for the relay locations.
I have a questions. I had a problem of the bike stalling on me while riding so I figured it was the fuel pump relay and I replaced all the relays. I took it our for a 30 min. test ride and everything was fine. However, the MIL light is still on. Will it go away in time or is there another problem that I am missing? Thank you.

@@wabisabi.1975 the code needs to be clear with the scanner tool which has re software in it. You can try just unplugging the pump relay and see if that clears the code, or just take off the battery terminals for few minutes and cut power to the ecu and see if that helps.
I got ny new gt recently and the next the light popped up..although the bike was running fine and the light also went away itself after 10-12km, i took it to the service centre the obd scanner found P0106 code which was in ecu history , they cleared it but still the light popping up randomly as well as going away itself…Please help me
Clean the fuel pump relay and fix it back. Still not resolve then ask them to replace the relay with new and check the fuel pump. And always leave minimum 2.5 to 3 ltrs fuel in tank do not run it dry
My brand new GT 650 got the same issue..along with the MIL ABS warning light is also blinking.. The service center have tried replacing the RR unit Abs unit. and checked every relay... Still the issue persist... What could be the possible reason?
There was no error code in my case, but only removing battery won't do the trick need to clean it using the proper obd device as ecu reset won't work on every Motorcycle. I have made reset video on Dominar one of my oldest video the process is same try it if that works.
My Continental GT 650 will not start. When I turn the key to the on position I hear a click but I do not hear the electric fuel pump come on. I have checked the relays but I thought the relay on the top left was the fuel pump relay. But you say the fuel pump relay is the bottom one on the right. I am sad because my motorcycle cannot be ridden in this condition and I have only had it since July 2020.

It will probably not come up again, but if that happens then try a new relay and also get the fuel pump inspected. If possible get a ecu scan done with the obd scanner.
I am also facing a similar issue of MIL glowing, but in my case the engine immediately cuts off the power for a split second and than goes back to normal operation. This happens when I open the throttle aggressively and I immediately see MIL light flashing the power stopping. Also, if I rev. the idle engine than too a similar situation occurs. My bike is just 3 months old and has clocked 2000 kms. Though I would get it checked through RE, but still can this be because of this grease deposited on relays?

Which light is blinking? If it is the MIL which is blinking then it is probably giving an error code which needs to be checked with obd device loaded with RE software. If it is the headlight which is blinking then probably a faulty bulb or a lose connection.
I have got the same issue. Any idea that it will cause any problem if I still ride it? Service center here (Leh) is closed:(. Bike is performing well now.
Clean the relays as i did and see if it resolves the issue. Have worked for many. If it doesn't go then try swapping the relay with accesory relay. Get it inspected when the svc opens. normally goes off with realy cleaning.
This also called generally check engine light/ indicator. I have the same issues now. Visited the re dealer and found out the code P0616. Fixed it couple of days back. Again the same indicator is showing now. Will visit re soon.

This could be noise for rear floating disc brake do check that , if yes then normal. Otherwise Get the mounting bolts re torqued and see if it helps, or u need to look at the rubber buffer inside the shocks in few bikes these were replaced due to noise. Could be the sensor failure at front wheel, take it out and look for any chipped or grazed surface sensor should have a minimum gap with the corona ring on the rotor otherwise it would rub it, also a possibility if pulled Cable with damaged inner wires, or in extreme case the modulator unit fault. What is the company diagnosis on this?
I will check on that. I do hope its only the sensors and nothing more. The problem is, from where I live, all of the dealers don't have an ECU diagnostic for the twins. Still waiting for it to arrive.

The connections of the set button could be bad but they will not fix it they will replace the whole assembly. Just file a complaint with the service center and mail if they don't act.
Yes this can happen as water can easily enter the relay area. Wading water is fun but it has its own cost. Have peek at your Relays and make sure nothing is rusted and in process give a good wipe to the area. Rain water can also enter the airfilter of those using no cover on aftermarket filters seen few cases already where water has entered the airfilter.

I've had my Interceptor for four years and luckily have never had this particular problem. However about 2 months ago the lights and the needles on both the speedo and the tach stopped working. Any clue what might have caused it? The Enfield service center is quite far from me so if it's something I could fix myself I'd like to try. Thanks. All other lights on the bike - headlight, rear light, turn indicators and the neutral indicator, still work normally. The fuel tank light is out.
First thing to check is the speedometer connector inside the headlight dome, disconnect and reconnect and see if it helps. The cable goes inside headlight for main connection. There are two couplers inside headlight for speedo. You can watch my speedometer video for reference. Next , make sure all fuses are ok Check battery and regulator rectifier.

This is strange. Do get you oil pump inspected. And if u are getting battery ,abs etc symbol before the bike shuts then get the rr unit inspected.

Chek and clean the relays and the spark plug cables plus the suppressor cap. One reason of stalling is faulty ht cable or the suppressor cap.

Whats the purpose of accesory relay ...in my bike that relay is missing.?
U can use it as a spare relay or use it with some electrical accessories if u no how to connect wiring to the other side of the relay box .

Top left is the main relay , bottom right one is pump.
Check that replace with accesory relay .
Otherwise chek the kill switch.

It will probably not come up again, but if that happens then try a new relay and also get the fuel pump inspected. If possible get a ecu scan done with the obd scanner.
I am also facing a similar issue of MIL glowing, but in my case the engine immediately cuts off the power for a split second and than goes back to normal operation.
This happens when I open the throttle aggressively and I immediately see MIL light flashing the power stopping.
Also, if I rev. the idle engine than too a similar situation occurs.
My bike is just 3 months old and has clocked 2000 kms.
Though I would get it checked through RE, but still can this be because of this grease deposited on relays?
Yes could be related to relay or otherwise the RR unit.
Mine were all loaded with grease too caused ignition issues.

Which light is blinking?
If it is the MIL which is blinking then it is probably giving an error code which needs to be checked with obd device loaded with RE software.
If it is the headlight which is blinking then probably a faulty bulb or a lose connection.
@@ijs_automotive sorry, the abs light is blinking when the bike is turned on. Sometimes, it has no light at all (when the bike is in idle)
@@keanugallardo get the RR unit inspected and the abs modulator. This happens when unregulated current goes to the modulator.
I have got the same issue. Any idea that it will cause any problem if I still ride it? Service center here (Leh) is closed:(. Bike is performing well now.
Clean the relays as i did and see if it resolves the issue. Have worked for many.
If it doesn't go then try swapping the relay with accesory relay.
Get it inspected when the svc opens. normally goes off with realy cleaning.

This also called generally check engine light/ indicator. I have the same issues now. Visited the re dealer and found out the code P0616. Fixed it couple of days back. Again the same indicator is showing now. Will visit re soon.
Relay cleaning or change has worked for many you can try this too.

My interceptor rear shocks make a noise while going through potholes.,what can be done for resolving?

This could be noise for rear floating disc brake do check that , if yes then normal.
Otherwise Get the mounting bolts re torqued and see if it helps, or u need to look at the rubber buffer inside the shocks in few bikes these were replaced due to noise. New buffers are orange in color.

Same problem but in my continental gt 650 after 70km max the MIL light goes on n the engine starts to miss
Take off the pump relay clean and fix it back should probably work. If it didn't work then swap the pump relay with the accessory relay

Totally lost the ABS on my Gt650. Checked the fuses and they are ok. I think Im the only twin owner in the world with this problem right noe😕
Could be the sensor failure at front wheel, take it out and look for any chipped or grazed surface sensor should have a minimum gap with the corona ring on the rotor otherwise it would rub it, also a possibility if pulled Cable with damaged inner wires, or in extreme case the modulator unit fault.
What is the company diagnosis on this?
I will check on that. I do hope its only the sensors and nothing more. The problem is, from where I live, all of the dealers don't have an ECU diagnostic for the twins. Still waiting for it to arrive.

The connections of the set button could be bad but they will not fix it they will replace the whole assembly.
Just file a complaint with the service center and mail if they don't act.

Yes this can happen as water can easily enter the relay area. Wading water is fun but it has its own cost. Have peek at your Relays and make sure nothing is rusted and in process give a good wipe to the area.
Rain water can also enter the airfilter of those using no cover on aftermarket filters seen few cases already where water has entered the airfilter.

I've had my Interceptor for four years and luckily have never had this particular problem. However about 2 months ago the lights and the needles on both the speedo and the tach stopped working.
Any clue what might have caused it? The Enfield service center is quite far from me so if it's something I could fix myself I'd like to try. Thanks.
All other lights on the bike - headlight, rear light, turn indicators and the neutral indicator, still work normally. The fuel tank light is out.
First thing to check is the speedometer connector inside the headlight dome, disconnect and reconnect and see if it helps. The cable goes inside headlight for main connection. There are two couplers inside headlight for speedo. You can watch my speedometer video for reference.
Next , make sure all fuses are ok
Check battery and regulator rectifier.
