My favorite song by her was "If loving you is wrong" and then there is also "I was country when country wasn't cool". I'm from NEPA and everyone has relatives that were involved in the coal or railroad industry. It's the way this part of the country was built. Both of my grandfathers played professional baseball before WW2. Afterwards one was the guy in the caboose of the train in that little shack on the top speaking to the engineer with Morse code. The other was a welder for the coal mines, his name literally means Bender of metal.

Loretta passed pretty recently. She was a good friend of Patsy Cline. In fact, she named one of her daughters Patsy.

it's a truly beautiful movie and its filled with great music. That song Coal Miners Daughter is a tribute to her father and mother and how hard they worked, how little they had but the house was always full of love. You should listen to that song. I've heard it about 100,000 times and it still bring a tear to my eyes.

I'm from NEPA and everyone has relatives that were involved in the coal or railroad industry. It's the way this part of the country was built. Both of my grandfathers played professional baseball before WW2. Afterwards one was the guy in the caboose of the train in that little shack on the top speaking to the engineer with Morse code. The other was a welder for the coal mines, his name literally means Bender of metal.
