Great take on Netflix Houses. I can totally see Netflix opening an 80s indoor Mall Experience a la Stranger Things! I would go, more so if they had retro TVs, equipment and audio gear. Show the kids how we grew up. Love it! Also indoor takes care of dealing with the heat in summers in Dallas!

And I could totally see Ed’s “Vision” of the Vision Pro at these Netflix House, where people would do a VR ride with the next generation Vision headsets.

19:00 - Given project revenue and free cash flow beyond early 2025 , Nvidia share price will go back down close to the $2 trillion. Maybe not next quarterly result, maybe not the next after that, but it will. The growth (still big) is projected to slow down after that. I guess the big players will have a bunch of operating AI datacenters and will still need more but not at the same pace. Also, AMD and Intel might finally be somewhat competitive, at least for some of the AI tasks (inferring mostly, not training the models).
Projections can be wrong , but no hardware company can justify the current multiples Nvidia currently has.

6min. Prices are not coming down. This would be deflation. The lower inflation means that the rate of price increase is smaller.

Regarding apple & VR: personal take is that monitors will become a thing of the past. Having unlimited virtual screens for 500$ and unlimited mobility vs 3 150$ monitors and no desk space is a great value imho.
Office spaces are going to get a bit more dystopian very soon!

Regarding Nvidia employee stocks. I lived through the tech bubble and was directly involved in it. I vividly recall the meteoric rise in Stocks like Lucent, ADC , Northern telecom and juniper networks. Scott was Right on in his recommendation to sell and diversify. I was lucky… thousands of others saw their stockholdings vaporize in a very short period of time.

On the discussion around Netflix going experiential: they could be looking at something similar to Secret Cinema here in the UK, where a classic movie is turned into a whole branded experience. This would work extremely well with Netflix's own IP.

I was a developer at Apple after Steve Jobs left the first time. Apple then went into a kind of hibernation mode for innovation and the stock slowly eroded. Since Jobs has gone I don't really see any innovation. Vision Pro, AI, Siri, etc... they are just playing it safe and have no vision or leadership. It's sad. If Jobs were around he would have introduced an AI that would have blown us all away and have been way out ahead of all the others companies.

Great show. I think you are missing Vision Pro’s potential. As the form factor becomes smaller and the tech improves, I have no doubt that it will replace most mobile computers. Right now it is more like a concept product but in 10-20 years, it will be ubiquitous like the Apple Watch.

Come on man, there's soooo much to do! Golf, rock climbing, swimming, pool, bowling, strippers, fishing, QANON rally, shooting, wedding crashing, race track, casino, or just go to a park and bring a frisby, football and lighter fluid.
Come on man, when was the last time you asked a friend, "hey, wouldn't it be a awesome if we lit a fire," and they said no?
Teens never say no to fire; you always get dogs and s'mores with no dishes but earn tons of kid-cred for taking the easy route. Swimming, culture centres, sky diving, volunteering, home improvement, concerts, block parties, music studio and rent instruments, hackathons, cruise night, go karts... Like go karts man!! How can you not find things to do with kids?! You can do everything and there aren't enough weeks of the year to do anything more than 4 times a year.

Scott, I think you are really over estimating Netflix's IP...especially compared to Disney's. You also completely miss the Disney experience versus other Theme Parks and like entities. Part of what make Disney so expensive (besides their crazy pricing in general) is how they run their parks versus others. It is labor intensive and appearances are very high...it's expensive. You can't get to 60-70% of that with a casual approach.
Disney's IP can involve the entire family and from everywhere in the world. Netflix will have segments of the family and possibly from just parts of the world. It is going to be a much lower draw and bound to age poorly. Disney's IP is, typically, timeless (and one of their issues with new products is how dated they are making them).
I agree that families need places to go that are not the expense of Disney. I'm just not sure a Netflix "park" is the answer to that. There are theme parks, National Parks and countless other tourist attraction places all over the country and they don't cost Disney prices and provide a greater look of the country.
As for streaming. I agree that Disney should be able to survive if they would just figure out where streaming should sit in their portfolio of content as well as making content that is heavier on entertainment and lighter on messaging or "ticking-boxes."
As for Netflix, obviously, unless they do something really dumb, they should do as well or better than the other streamers and should survive. I've found their documentaries to be a goldmine but there is something about all Netflix content...it is like this "B-level" quality of story development and production. It isn't necessarily bad but I've yet to see any of their movies that I would consider good/great movies, on their own. Their series can be quite good, as series go and that is where I think streaming makes the most sense...serialized "TV." Not one-and-done movie viewings. An exception I'd say are documentaries. However, those are normally low budget anyway.

Hey Ed... I could watch the game while I do something else, or I could put on a headset and not move or be productive, because watching the game alone isn't better when I could be enjoying doing chores rather than being uncomfortable trying to have a moment I could never share not even as a story anyone would listen to? What experience telling your lived ones you practically see a concert a f sports venue every day"? Nobody cares and you'll get lazier and apathetic to the novelty too. Just watch a game on a screen while you vacuum, or make breakfast like you believe liverpool can stay at the top of the premier league until the end of a season.
You can't even make muffins with that headset on while commercials blast you on the face like a bukake impark parking lot (where you'd pay for the privilege of being there on camera and the centre of attention).

So Lucky cooks up Oculus. Zuck is thrilled and buys the company. Palmer decides to join the military-industrial complex. Zuck hemorrhages money trying to make it the next big thing. Microsoft does Hololens and figures out in a hurry this isn't for consumers. Magic Leap tanks. Cook looks at all of this and says "oh yeah, me too". Vision Pro becomes interesting to most because it came from Apple, and rapidly turns into a gotta have for few. Apple is not what it was.

re long time nvidia employees hitting the windfall. You guys keep talking about employees from 5+ years ago as if most would have held their entire stock grant. You yourselves have already strongly recommended selling out of single stock investments and diversifying. So if prudent employees did that and have been regularly selling, there wouldn't "thousands" of employees hitting $10M.
Sure, there are going to be some HODL that hit the jackpot but I think you have to stop assuming everyone at nvidia hit an 8 figure lottery.
I'm by no means saying they aren't very well off - but only the select few that held a lot of shares during this accumulation phase would be these winners.
