Wow!! I liked that you have the entire parade on tape, including the closing fanfare and the Return to Oz unit. 1985 was a good year for this parade since it added new parade floats and didn't receive any more until 2009 with the addition of Tinker Bell.
I went to Disney in 1986 and this is how I remember the electric parade. This is the original soundtrack that is in tune with all the floats. Thanks for the 1985 version!
This is awesome! I’ve always loved the music loop for the Return to Oz unit. It’s so great to finally see it live on video! I find it interesting that it was placed between the Alice in Wonderland and Cinderella units. That’s exactly where the Swan Lake unit was placed in the original Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris versions of the parade. Great job!👍
too bad the sections on both coasts were removed (ours destroyed by fire and Florida's was dismantled. they should have saved the Florida set and sent it to Paris with the rest of their floats since the music is heard in the Storybookland Boat Ride at the end of it.
That moment when the lights would shut off... *shivers* I saw footage from the 2022 version and they don't do it anymore. That was the appetizer for the whole thing!
don't hold your breath. there were 2 main reasons why the soundtrack was change (1. to add more Disney tunes and 2. to keep the tempo the same the whole way through, this version had and odd tempo, mostly 2 beat with 1 bar of music with 3 beats,. choreographers didn't like the odd tempo so they had it changed when Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights debuted in June 2001 and 8 years later it was heard here in the U. with 3 new sequences added that weren't in Dreamlights (4 if you count the Dumbo music that wasn't added because they got rid of that section before the soundtrack changed in 2009.

at least none that stayed for more than a year. there was the Birthday Cake float in '88 and a 35th anniversary float IN '90.

I can totally understand why they got rid of the return to oz float you couldn’t see any of the people
And also the movie Return to Oz was a box office bomb.
Also it burned down. It literally caught fire.
